  • I love the nostalgic wobbly sound you get with old tape recorders.

  • Love the end jam

  • does anyone have a megaupload for this?

  • The audience has the rhythm down pretty good. Excellent audience.

  • great vid hahaha...they're all clapping for jonny's solo!

  • oh jonny jonny jonny

  • Is this the most beautiful thing I ever heard? oh yeah

  • This song is about that lonely, balding man who isn't clapping about four rows up from the bottom left.

  • Dunno why they changed the ending part of the song. Its much better in this version, f*ck*ng awesome!

  • first heard this song when i was 8. my older brother had just come home from work with OK Computer. it blew both of us away.

  • nervous twitch center right :L hahaha

  • que bizarro por dios, y que temaso por dios!!!

  • i can listen to this song everyday dude

  • the video is fucking scary

  • I must say I enjoyed that ending very much. But I'm still happy with the ending they used in the original. The Original ending works. It snaps back into a heavy rock song without butchering the emotion.

  • the great "hallelulah"

  • Every single Radiohead performance of this song gives me the chills. It cuts fresh every single time... No matter the audio/live sound quality.

  • did audience died?

  • I love the keyuboard sound that Jonny is playing on the rain down part, and the hallelujah is awesomem I think superior to "god loves his children". Awesome version, better in many parts that the one in the record.

  • i love this band and this song. this early version is really interesting, i'm really likeing what jonny is doing. i have a 15 step cover you might be interested in if you are into covers that is .

  • i like the scream instead of the "why dont you remember my nameuh"

  • Continous claps are amazing what a crowd. LoL!!!!!!!!!!

  • i think it's easier to write about sad things than happy things.

  • hey, guys, I just uploaded Paranoid Android live 24-06-1997, Vredenburg, Utrecht. it`s a really good quality and one of the best performances, if you ask me. so, check out my channel and enjoy it!

  • from a great height... from a great hallelujah... =)

  • The break into the "rain down" section at around 3:08 sounds amazing on this version. Great performance.

  • They should have kept that little jam at the end, and than have it end as it does on the record. It would be a pretty epic thing to do, especially live

  • hahahahaha te amooooooooooooo bebe

  • demon woman on the right, demon woman. the power of christ compells thee, the power of christ compells thee.

    oh and, superb music

  • nice video, seems like something radiohead would use

  • i really want to meet thom yorke one day or anyone from radiohead

  • seriously me too lol

  • crapy audio

  • no shit, RARE EARLY LIVE VERSION. learn to read.

  • what does that have to do with anything?

  • Recorded w/ a tape recorder.

  • oh of course, back when they only had tape recorders, in the 90s

  • @brucelee6790 alot

  • @servo1056 i don't even know what i was talking about, i made that comment a long time ago

  • possibly the best song iv heard

  • LOVE THIS. the haunting finale, when the hammond joins in reminds me of Jam For the World in Action ( from the tv programme )... Seriously, if you like this, you should look on YouTube for Jam For The World In Action.... just awesome !

  • Haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa :o

  • thats like the perfect choice of vid for the version. the dude in the middle left is scary as shit

  • this song or just are my in the running for my two fav songs i just cant pick one paranoid android is more complex and mellow but then gets really awesome and just is just straight rock and roll

  • El video es un montón de fantasmas :(

From a great hight ... from a great... ALELUYA!!!! AH- ALELUYA!!! ... mmm... interesante cambio que le hicieron luego.

  • Maravillos final... Johnny Greenwood y Thom Yorke SON LO MAXIMO!!!

  • I like this version, although I don't know what's up with this video...

  • the video is a bunch of ghosts :(

  • love the solo

  • that solo....holy moly. wow.

  • better than the album version.

  • i'm dont know which version is my favorite...

in it's my favorite song ever.......

  • Do you have a higher resolution of this image that you could send me? Where'd you find it? I'm guessing a movie because it's an animated GIF.

  • el video es una mierda pero la cancion xvr!!!!

  • your mother is mierda

  • si no me entiendes no escribas monce!!!! no he insultado al grupo!!!

  • i got you. you were talking about the video. and i think that on a deeper level the video fits the song. ps: i don't speak spanish, what is no escribas monce.

pps: i take it back about your mom, that was to harsh. but still your idea is mierda

  • hablas piedras mejor callate!!!

  • cool version but the video creeps me out.

  • @hwd7777 yea pretty freaky video lol..

  • the end is LINDO!!!

  • muito bonito

  • Ive got this version in mp3, but the album version is better

  • (Ok i got it, sorry for the double post, i can't delete it)

  • Hmmm my first comment on youtube so maybe i've done something wrong, so here it is again.

This is from the Boston show on the 14th august 1996.

Hope it will work this time ^^

  • This one ? :)

    watch?v=XzbXvWqK_H4&feature=related

  • For those wondering this is from the Boston show on the 14h august 1996.

  • El tema es espectacular, pero con muy poco esfuerzo se puede hacer un video mejor.

  • (different lyrics) is this before they record it on Ok computer ?

  • Who's really the Paranoid Android?

    I never understood that part.

    Hope it's not me...

    :O|

  • the Paranoid Android is Marvin, the depressive robot from "The Hitchhiker Guide to The Galaxies"

  • this version is SICK

  • Paranoid Android is such a "can jam to" song. Making it must have been amazing. It's one of those songs that could go for an hour. The retail cut.. as long as it is.. never seemed long enough...Even this version seems rushed in some transitions.

    A song for the ages.

I know there is a longer version. They played it a couple of times when opening for Alanis Morissette in '96. 12 minute versions. Still looking for a recording. They're out there...

  • @preinfixed yes correct...one of them is on a french boot....i sent it to somebody and never heard from them again......jonny does a very long organ solo.

  • The video is sooo sicodelic

  • you mean psychedelic, and yes it is... Why the f*ck are they staring at me... Make them stop. God their faces all look sooooo fake.

  • haha -- Check out the 5th row from the top (4th? 6th?) Left side. That old man. Not clapping. Not moving. Just bitter that he is being used as a looped clip on some random band that formed 20 years after his death; in a version that didn't make the cut. He's mad.

    And so is his mustache.

  • Now you've pointed him out I can't stop looking at him...

    HE'S STARING INTO MY SOUL!

  • why is he so angry???

  • who?

  • @preinfixed LOL I like the guy on the front row feeling the beat

  • @preinfixed yep he's the paranoid android

  • @preinfixed LOL you're insane! Awesome video and awesome comment.

  • Love Radiohead, Radiohead rocks! No one else makes choons this good. Long live Thom Yorke and His band Radiohead. hahaha

  • Totally agree with you dude! ;)

    I love this version btw

  • This version gives me goosebumps - especially that outro/coda/jonny's organ solo.

Amazing - cathes the paranoia perfectly.

  • the crowd filled of old people gives it a nostalgic feel.

combined with their haunting melodies makes me want to lose the grip (on life), just let go and drift away to shores unknown.

  • Where can I get this on CD?

  • Even though it's not here, I can still hear that voice saying, "I'm not an android."

  • They seem to have grungy solos before they tailor the songs.

  • that's rare thanx dude !

  • i love the middle solo before the recorded studio one

  • Man that was awesome. It's just as good as the studio version. I love Greenwood's solo in the middle there too.

  • that ending is sweet! I heard when they first started playing this, it went almost 11 minutes!

  • i like the end, but i think that both versions are nice, i think that in this one, the end is too long and too repetitive.. thats why they changed it :)

  • the ending kills me

  • New/old solo is amazing(first part ofcourse, the rest is the same as always)

  • I have no idea why they didn't keep some of that, sure it didn't fit in as well as the other solo did, but it's so incredibly awesome that I couldn't care less about it.

  • holy shit!!! they should've kept that fucking ending!!!

  • that guy that doesnt move, near top mid left is annoying!!!! does any 1 see it/he looks like hughie green!!! [ ha ha ha]

  • spotted him. and now he's annoying me

  • he's almost eerie...

  • ha ha ha... thanks for pointing him out... never noticed him.

  • holy shit thats scary...

  • excellent post.. the best of this rare version is the trippy ending... Perfecto!

  • ma version favorite...

    cette reprise du refrain....

    Love the world

    This life

    This world

    This stars...

    magnifique...

  • what year is this version??

  • this is not actually a complain but the first thing taht i saw when i watched the video..but i'll keep ur advice about surfing the net while listening to songs.seems to me thats its possible to solve the problem...

  • lol sorry man. I'm just surly tonight. ;)

  • great song and great perform but have to say that the clip is realy annoying...even a full black screen would be better by far :S

  • The video is nothing but a filler I found kind of interesting/humorous at the time.

Advice -- scroll the screen down. Alt tab to something else maybe. Do not stare at things that annoy you. Simple solutions.

But if complaining is more statisfying, proceed. I figured anyone that would rather it be a black screen would just... scroll down, or surf some other site while listening.

    Ahh.. the internet...

  • haha i scrolled the screen down.

    thanks for the post

  • preinfixed, your "advice" was the funniest, most brilliant thing I've encountered all day. Thank you from my heart.

  • OMG THIS IS AMAZING

  • Hummana hummana

  • That extended ending is really interesting. Geez, I've gotten obsessed. I spend a lot of time hunting down rare versions of 'head songs.

  • wich other alternate versions do you know?

i'm getting crazy about Radiohead, i got almost all their b-sides (on mp3).

    xD

  • that guitar is really cool over the top of it, but i still prefer the album version

  • I think sex pistols' "my way" which is the clip from

  • good eye

  • nice!

That video is quite, quite disturbing after a while, particularly since my screen is buggered and they look posterised...

  • the birth of one of radioheads best songs =)

  • the bestone

  • This is for when you get bored of the original song(IF THAT IS POSSIBLE). This one is really cool too.

If you wanna check out the ealy version of Karma Police too, you can hear it on my channel.

  • they took out the thats it sir, youre leaving part :(

  • naw, just didn't happen yet.

  • thats what i meant lol. still good tho

  • By the way, where is this clip from?

  • Hallelujaaah...

    Hallelujaaah...

  • Me gusta esta versión, es genial la voz de Thom York es fabulosa y jonny greenwood es divino

  • i think they got rid of the ending because it kind of kills the ending...but it's pretty damn genius how the chords of the original chorus fit back into the song after the "rain down" bit. :)

  • i like the organ but the guitar ending is way cooler

  • guy in 5th row 2nd from right doesnt move an inch :)

  • lol, you're right. Looks creepy, like he's dead or sumthin'... :)

  • That's really creepy

  • damn that is funny!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I love the music at the end, makes me feel good

  • the ending part of this song, the last 2 minutes are...there are no words, beyond just music

  • This is one of my favourite songs and I think I like this version even better, awesome, thanks.

  • I like the part after the "rain down" bit. Awesome.

  • the guy in the 2nd row, 3rd from the right is perfect. He doesn't look like he's part of the loop.

  • Does anyone by chance happen to have an mp3 of this? it's brilliant.

  • they're dead people clapping

  • oh I'm sure there are a couple still around ;)

  • how can u be sure? maybe i killed them all

  • very different but awesome to get to hear what the song came from.. i love the transition after the rain down halleluahs.. the woman in the 2nd row all the way to the right looks demonic

  • lmao

  • They won't stop clapping!

  • This version was okay, however it lacked the energy that the version off OK computer has. The only real improvement i could see was the "hallelujahs".

  • holy shit, was that awesome. the organ during the "rain down" part reminds me of "a whiter shade of pale"... what a cool take on one my favorites by them. they should release a cd of their earlier versions, or originals that spawned two songs like i will and like spinning plates. that would rule. reckoner is the best off of in rainbows.

  • That same organ was in the earlier version of Nude b.k.a "big ideas". it's posted on the tube somewhere. it's great. check it out!

  • che spettacolo!

  • wow, that was a really cool ending after the rain down part. i had never heard this version!

  • nice.

  • I almost like this version better. The way they brough the beginning back at the end was awesome, and I fuckin' loved the "hallelujah"s. I wonder why they took that out.

  • aleluya

    aleluya

  • that ending reminds you of I Want You (She's So Heavy) by The Beatles

  • if this ending reminds you of that song you should just listen to the intro of the beatles and then a wolf at the door by radiohead(nearly the same...)

  • yes I do know that one but still reminds you of how the song slowly burns out at the end

  • really i enjoy this version

and i love the jonny organ solo

i uploaded the video if anyone want to watch it :)

  • TY FOR UPLOADING THIS.

    ::linked::

  • Radiohead PLEASE COME TO THE Third world!!!COME TO MEXICO, WE MISS YOU!!!

  • The smiling guy in the front row has a subtle neck-shift reminicennt of Will Farrell and Chris Kattan's "Roxbury Twins" groove. Incidentally...this early version's "rain down" section is VERY remisicent of Procul Harem's "Whiter Shade Of Pale" with those drums more forefronted, and the organ replacing the mellotron.

  • Fresh.
