Our road network is a transport system, not 'sport' based. I don't want motorcyclists blasting through urban 30mph limits at 60mph+ - what precisely is unfair about the system as it stands?
The police have very little to do with speed enforcement, 98% of all speeding prosecutions are brought by civilians or static cameras.
@CrossChannelFairy balls have you knowtist since the cameras have been put on the roads the police have had a whole new fleet of cars across the country! and whole new state of the art equiptment i have seen 2 lotus elise police cars on motorway and god knows how many evo 10's and scoobys!!
The 'cosine effect' (reading a vehicle's speed from an angle), is always to the benefit of the motorist. The greater the angle, the less the recorded speed.
Speedscopes can't 'lie'. That is a human trait only.
Cameras dontlie so why do vans with roller shutter doors get fines speeding when they know full well you can get accurate reading off one. Camera lies as its measuring the speed of the doors rattling
Just like an officer using hand held may be aiming at windscreen and then at front of vehicle so appears to be going faster.
If they needed to protect pedestrians why they on motorway where speed drops from 70 to 50 somewhere in south. Earns local police millions and no road works there either
@UNOMINER The police don't benefit in any financial/monetary way from speed enforcement, it all goes to the government, which is why some forces are reducing the use of speed cameras. Can you supply any evidence that supports your claim about 'millions' being earnt?
All camera's can lie about speed. People talk about the slip effect but the altered angle of the camera whilst following a vechile actually alters the distance from the camera/vechile which can add or decrease extra distance in time. Perfectly in front or back with person heading directly at the camera would be the only way to get proper measurements. There is probably more defects in the cam than they let gp know. It's crazy how a still motorbike was recorded doing 60 mph. Money maker only.
id stop and spray paint them fuckers

Speed cameras are unsportsmanlike of the police.
They need to play fair!
