@scalvann there is a way to sneak out of the city. first go to zell's house and you will see the little boy there. he will go next door to the little girl and then he will bolt out of there and towards the main gate. Talk to the gaurd there BUT DON'T CLOSE THE CHAT UNTIL THE BOY HAS LEFT THE SCREEN. go talk to the kid and he will ask you if you want out. if you select YES, he will sneak you out of the town and you can level grind there.

Q: How do you get Break magic this early on?

A: Win Cockatrice cards and use Quez's Card Mod ability to mod them into Cockactrice Pinions and then use Diablos' Status RF Magic ability to refine a Pinion into 20 Breaks.

Did you know you're supposed to like collect those magics in mass quantity and junction them to specfic stats for the characters?

Its like a main part of the game. If you dont do that then the characters stay very weak and the game is almost unbeatable.

Usually I just storm through these games and dont take time to level up or explore so..

that makes it difficult if you dont junction!

Lolno. If there was the lionheart on disc one like when your facing off against Ifrit, then that's probably a hack.. Simple steps to get the lionhear:

1)Kill a bunch of T-Rexors to get 4 Dragon Fangs

2)Play the card game like crazy to get the Enloye card. 20 of them to be percise

3)Converter Sacrad's card I think, one of the Brother's card converts to 10 of the last thing you need.

Bam, most likely you'll have it after you head to Dueling City

this is why FF8 is different from all the other FF's. You can junction magic to strength and other stats to make your characters stronger, to junction you need Gf's. you can be lvl 7, and probably have a strength stat of 150.

I remember my sister beat Fujin and Raijin after she loses over 25 times. It was funny and boring at the same time because she kept on relying on Shiva, Brother and Ifrit. Her characters (Rinoa, Zell, Squall) were so weak that whenever she uses "attack", The damage was around 50-199. She made these character look bad and weak. It's not that hard to fight Fujin and Raijin.

You actually never need to use a single GF if you play efficiently; for example, Ifrit can be beaten by casting Blizzard forever, and boosting Strength is easy.

I like those two. They're a little different from their original "versions", but have their charm. Rai is blunt and has his "ya know" tagline, Fu talks little and still uses one worders, Saifer acts tough, but is a loser in the end.
