Well there is such proof but no one wants to listen. The results demonstrate an unassailable correlation with historic climate data and because the data can be calculated, the future climate patterns can also be calculated, a forecast for the next two decades is shown and we are in for a long cold spell in the Northern hemisphere.
Other immediate remedies of the situation are fail already. You might be thinking well they have trains in China that are green and environmentally friendly. Just some info about that to revamp the entire train system in the U.S.A. to that type of train would be nearly 4-6 trillion dollars and being that we are already $14-15 trillion in debt we have a fat chance in hell to borrow the money. I think for another ice age to occur there needs to be more severe warming, if that happens the arctic glaciers will melt fast enough to cool down the ocean and affect the ocean currents.

The CO2 between the two hemispheres have shown no difference, even though the NH produces more. Man made CO2 has had little effect on the overall atmospheric concentration or warming. The present concentration may be completely controlled by the oceans. It is a huge sink for CO2. The temperature increases do not support a major role for CO2 warming.

There is a very simple solution for the food problem of an ice age....HOTHOUSES. Turn our domed sports stadiums into hot houses. Big fossil fuel using corporations profit from cap and trade, as they are able to buy the right to emit carbon dioxide while smaller companies and corporations can't make enough profits, destroying competition. The coolist "consensus" didn't quite have as much data and evidence to work with as the warmists and their claims were eventually disproven.

@cce4 Well, I respect your stance. During nuclear testing, the C14 version of CO2 took a few years to show up in the Southern hemisphere. The CO2 between the two hemispheres have shown no difference, even though the NH produces more. Man made CO2 has had little effect on the overall atmospheric concentration or warming. The present concentration may be completely controlled by the oceans. It is a huge sink for CO2. The temperature increases do not support a major role for CO2 warming.

Recent research by Japanese scientists tied it all together and proved a deep solar quiet gave us the little ice age. Since we have an extended deep solar quiet currently, that is pretty much predicted to give us 70,000 years of glaciation, I suggest that stocking up on food won't hurt a thing.

The peer review process is not perfect. But it is highly reliable and, more importantly, self correcting. This was true for cold fusion, Gallo and his claims about hiv, Archaeoraptor ... though the latter was not scientifically(!) peer reviewed.

A single article in Newsweek magazine does not mean there was scientific consensus around a coming ice age in the 1970s. Somebody took the trouble to research this claim and found it to be false. A search through the peer reviewed climate literature published from 1965-79 showed 7 papers predicting cooling. BUT 42 predicted warming!

I don't believe in chaos. Every physical action is predicated by conditions that cause that action. Climate change can be traced to solar activity which may be able to be traced to location of the sun in the galaxy and interactions within the sun caused by chemical reactions . Gravity and EMF forces also being huge factors.
In fact we know the majority of carbon dioxide comes from the warming of the ocean and only a minute portion is caused by fossil fuels.

There is a very simple solution for the food problem of an ice age....HOTHOUSES. Turn our domed sports stadiums into hot houses. Build light weight yet large expanses of hot hoouses fairly close to cities or even in city parks to grow food for those cities. It's not rocket science, Just agricultural prudence.

30 years ago a couple stories about cooling but the vast majority of the scientific papers said warming. perhaps if Newsweek had listened to climatologists and not weathermen.
Bryson was right about the mid century cooling though our aerosols did play a role.
One article does not a consensus make. Of the 68 papers on "global cooling" between 1968 and 1979; 10% concluded cooling, 28% took no stance, 62% said it was warming.
The evidence said warming. Today 98% of climate scientists say AGW.

As Martin Heimann writes in Science: Wetlands and permafrost soils, including the sub-sea permafrost under the Arctic Ocean, contain at least twice the amount of carbon that is currently in the atmosphere as carbon dioxide. Release of a sizable fraction of this carbon as carbon dioxide and/or methane would lead to warmer atmospheric temperatures, causing yet more methane to be released. It would thus create a positive feedback loop that amplifies global warming.

I hope it's just one of those solar cycles. Warmer is better for agriculture. More CO2 is better for plant growth. That's why the Jurassic was so good for plant life, and produced today's coal and oil, was because there was so many times the CO2 then as there was now in the atmosphere. Big fossil fuel using corporations profit from cap and trade, as they are able to buy the right to emit carbon dioxide while smaller companies and corporations can't make enough profits, destroying competition. Regardless of whether or not the media is right (which I highly doubt), what is being done to combat the "problem" would in reality be making it worse, as those companies would instead move to places like China and India, countries that do not only emit tons of CO2 but horrible toxins.

Um, yeah headlines typically do come with articles attached. Magazines have nothing whatsoever to do with actual scientific research, as little to do w/ actual scientific research as Al Gore. These are straw men targets that deniers attack because they can't actually dispute any of the real scientific research. That's my point.

And how does attacking Al Gore scientifically validate your position? Gore's not a scientist and his actions have zero baring one way or the other on the scientific facts behind climate change. Of course you don't actually know the facts, so that's really all you've got.

a climate trend is any single isolated hurricane, wildfire, photo of a polar bear taking a dip etc, & is sure proof of SUVs destroying the planet.
a meaningless isolated weather event is twelve years of cooling culminating in record shattering cold and the greatest global snow cover in recorded history

@ElRancholo2 Keep walking or riding your bike to work, freezing your butt off in the winter, and burning up in the summer, so you can reduce your carbon footprint, while he flies around in his private jet, eats enough food for 2 people, and heats and cools his mansion. Don't forget his 5 SUVs he drives.
