  • @1KatrinaRider try to swing your arms harder and maybe from slightly further behind you and try to jump only a little bit more and make sure to follow your hands with your head, hope it helps!

  • I new help with y back handspring. I use to r able to do it on floor but now I can only do it on tramp. I have the throwing motion but when you bounce back I always hit my head. I keep my arms straight, so I dont know what I'm doing. Sometimes I'll even land on my back (but that's just fear) so someone help please. Thanks.

  • here shoes look HUGE and HEAVY!!!!!

  • The Olympics doesn't have every sport

  • I can do a Front handspring with no problem but i broke my arm and had to have surgery and now im scared to do my back handspring! Any tips?

  • @emmyandshane10 you can start from the trampoline then to the barrel then down a wedge then with spot and if you feel like you can do it then try it if you fall on your face or land on your knees then try it over and over again

  • I think i could do this, and i can do a front handspring, but i'm REALLY scared i'm going to fall on my back... can you learn to do this by yourself or do you have to have your instructor with you? also do you have to have like really strong arms???

  • I would do that but I'm scared I'm going to fall

  • i wish i could do that but thanks for the help!

  • @IAmSweetandRipeBri

That is actually true even though people are saying it isn't.

  • I just learned how to do these on the ground without a spotter! :D

  • I think cheerleading isn't a sport, but it doesn't mean it's easy. And of course, you can like cheerleading but saying that is the most dangerous sport... nope.

  • @chapitrilfo I agree, cheer leading is actually a group activity, when people say that it is not a sport , cheerleaders get sooo offended. If you think about it this way. there Are no cheerleaders in the olympics.

  • FACT : Cheerleading is the most dangerous sport out there it very physical challenging & intimidating it teaches leadership courage & respect ..if you can survive cheerleading you can survive anything.

  • @IAmSweetandRipeBri that's an opinion!

  • @IAmSweetandRipeBri just because you are a cheerleader doesn't mean you can handle anything. like gymnastics for example. you can kill yourself in seconds from doing multiple things in gymnastics. like if you are doing a back tuck on the beam, if you land on ur head you would most likely die.

  • @fairies4fun123 very true actually i think they are both very dangerous

  • honestly, i've just been starting to learn cheer, im flexible and all, but i still cant do this!!

  • No offence, but this is NOT an 'advanced' move, it's actually should be a beginner skill. IMO, a standing full is an advanced move :P. Plus the example girl's backhandspring is VERY VERY slow. Other than that, pretty ite tutorial. :)

  • 140 people didnt get their backhandspring

  • CHEERLEADING IS a sport you dummmies who don't know that

  • back handspring are not advanced....o.o js

  • Yeah. Its cool. I been cheering since I was 4 also. Im in the 12th and im captain of the squad. I also recived a scholarshipbfor cheering to ECU (:

  • What level do people do these? I know this is, like, the stupidest question... but I want to start cheerleading next year so I kinda need to know. (:

  • she squats down too much! 0:30

  • Soooo 3000 hours ago

  • I wish i knew how to do that!

  • *diffrent

  • @soccer031233 in cheerleading they do lots of tumbling , if you have never watched a real cheerleading competition before, i do not expect you to know that . Gymnastics is vdry

  • She needs to keep her head in!. But that's a really good flip flop!:) good job

  • GYMNASTICS IS NOT CHEERLEADING WTF PEOPLE TWO DIFFERENT SPORTS

  • The girl is good but she could extend back more other than that good job

  • for me, a running backhand spring is easier with a spot thumbs up if u agree!

  • i wanna learn how to do a toe touch

  • I will only do them if I have a spring board and a spotter lol

  • To the people fighting: Just shutup and message each other.... No one wants to hear about it.

  • i thought your not supose to squad more then 90 degrees... that last flip was done by NO expert...

  • THUMBS UP IF YOUR A CHEERLEADER :)))!

  • @competitivegymnast1 we already have that comment =_=

  • @RizeMeteor cool? do I care? I think not.

  • @competitivegymnast1 temper, temper... ^^ and, yes you do NOW... XD Losar<!

  • @RizeMeteor No i still don't care

  • @competitivegymnast1 your still replying? lol you DO care!!! haha!!! :D

  • @RizeMeteor huh?

  • @competitivegymnast1 you DO realize playing dumb dosnt make you forget right? XDDD

    OMG why am i wasting time here, i h8 u!!! T-T''

  • @RizeMeteor You poor lost soul...

  • @competitivegymnast1 Booo! *with a ghostly accent* :3

  • that did not help me for shit

  • im not a cheerleader but i do gymnastics and i think u start too far down. that makes it harder. good job though..

  • i hate the way cheerleading teaches you to finish a backhandspring, you look stupid, she crouches too low and undercuts :/

  • I can do one on the trampoline and I can do one with a little spot but I'm to scared to do one by myself. Any tips?

  • @celticsgirls1144 i have that same situaition but what gives me courage to try it on my own is i imagine myself on a trampoline or with a spot. also if you focus on the form of the backhandspring when you do it your fear will go away:)

  • keep pressing number 6...

  • @donovanjordison1 what bout it? :/

  • When ur doing a back handspring if u hit ur head on the floor then stretch ur arms out farther to the ceiling and swing ur arms back to get more momentom in ur flip and you should get ur flip after u practice that alot!

  • Ive been a cheerleader since i was in 3rd grade now im in 7th but yeah i think cheering is a bit of a challenge for some pplz but its like exercising and having fun at the same exact time so if you are one of those pplz that think cheerleading is not a sport you WRONG and if you dont believe me theres alot more cheerleaders and non cheerleaders that say its a sport so......... Maybe you think a little more before sayin its not a sport and goes for just about anything! Alexia, a cheering leader!!

  • @TheLilswagga1 yeahh ima cheerleader too. and my mom was captain for her skool and yes its a sport!! my om also makes meh do softball bcuz cheer u cant rely get a scholarship with.. so yah it is and its very fun and challenging ive been a cheerleader and a tumbler since i was 4 i didnt start tumbling till i was 8 though.. right now im on a competitive cheer team for the zone i also do tumbling there!(: so yah it is a sport lol and im in 7th too!((:

  • @TheLilswagga1 i disagree. i do cheerleading, with the tumbling and the lifts and all, and i agree that it is a very athletic activity, but i think using the term "sport" to describe it is a bit degrading. i mean, do you really want to be classified in the same category as people who throw balls around and run after each other?

  • @butlikereally lol now are you insulting sports in general? cheer is a sport

  • @cheerislife17 no i just meant sports are more like games, whereas cheer is more like an athletic art

  • NICE & TALLER THAN YOU!

  • Great backhandpring girly(:

  • gorgeous legs and ass.

  • @msfattytroll. To be a sport you have to have a coach, practices and competitions. Which cheerleading does. So yes it IS A SPORT. You are probably just jealous that your fat butt can't do a back handspring. Let alone a tuck, layout, full, or double. So get a life, if cheer isn't a sport to you then why watch this video?

  • when ever i do my back hand spring i always bend my arms and my head hits the floor :( anyone have any tips?

  • @kewl8545 lock out ur arms...

  • @kewl8545 when u do a back handspring you wanna make sure ur arms are reached out all the way and not bent swing ur arms back then behind u for more momentom that should help just reply me back if u have any more questions bout any cheer stunts or flips i would now the answer to anything cause ive been a cheerleader for 4years hope that helped!!!!!!!!!

  • i got from fight club... to here. wtf?

  • this doesnt tech u shit

  • Back handsprings look so easy if you've never attempted it before! But it can be intimidating once you actually try it out.

  • I can do this when i practice with a spotter, But i have no confidence to jump back and iv'e tried it hundreds of times with a spotter.. :/

  • Comment removed

  • IMMMA CHEERLEADER ADN IM PROUD OF IT HAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHHAHAHAHHAHAHA

  • That was a nice back hand spring!!:) and people that think cheerleading isn't a sport they are morons

  • i still have to b spotted >< i am just so scared to throw it ever since i went home and tried it and landed on my head . they make it seem soooo easy!

  • to people that dislike cheerleading and think it is not a sport...

try doing a full to backhandsping to double twisting full...

  • this was in my recommended videos because i watched a video about the egyption revolution in like february. what the hell!?!?!?

  • i have the worst time locking my arms.....I have good front handsprings and handstands and i cannot do this!!! ugh! i try almost everyday!

  • omg i have to learn that!... She makes it look so easy... jealous! I wish I could be a cheerleader but they don't have cheerleaders where I come from... :(

  • @0pima0 i know how you feel so it ironic how today got 6 of my mates and we learnt a basic cheerleading today :L im beeing stupid and trying to learn advance lol

  • im learning my backhandsprind and with spot i do it well but everytime the person spotting me leaves, and i try it by myself i just end up jumping upward and not back. I think my mind is making me so hesitant. How do i get over the fear of doing a back handspring by myself?

  • @laurenroxy121 I'm not being bltchy, and i'm not fighting. You put your say in and I put in mine. Your the one who just made this something bigger than it is.

  • im a 5th grader and i want to join for cheer.. but i think im too fattt

  • what if your skard your hands cant hold you how do you know when your hands can hold you

  • @laurenroxy121 it was declared the most dangerous sport in America.... there have been more injuries in cheerleading than in any other sport, it's a fact. Also, people have died from cheerleading, many have been paralyzed, many more seriously injured. And since when is it congress's job to declare sports? Lets leave that up to the sport commentators at ESPN who say it is one.

  • @msfattytroll SHUT UP.

People simply envy the things we are able to do and all the attention we get. Unless you personally have been through it, then you will know how hard it is and that it is not just doing cute stuff and smiling. And you're obviously here to learn what a cheerleader can do. So just stop making stupid remarks. Especially about grammar.

  • @laurenroxy121 Is that why it's being added to the next upcomming summer olympics?

  • yeah cheerleading is a sport so go die if u think other wise:)

  • This is OK for cheerleading but not gymnastics. The head needs to be in and the body line strait when the hands contact the floor. Sorry I do not mean to pick on anyone. I think cheerleading is great but please never settle for good enough. Please watch the tutorial by Romalian. Thanks for the video still, you are doing a good thing.

  • cheerleading is the best sport ever! i am having a mental block with my backhandspring right now and i have my handspring tuck!!!

  • Ughh, no matter how any times i watch backhandspring videos i can never understand what to do =( somebody please helpp

  • I was a cheerleader but now im a gymnast I gott my backhandspring in 2 weeks with practice on my trampoline

  • @GymnastCRAZYful

ha i'm kinda the other way round i was a full time gymnast but im thinking of giving it up coz i joined my high school cheer team :)

  • how long does it take to learn how to do a Standing Back Handspring? ive never had gymnastics but i want to try out for my schools cheer team and they require this :)

  • @donnad23 i got mine in 7 weeks

  • @donnad23 i got mine in nine. it depends on how flexible you are, how agile you are and how much you stretch a day, i hope this helps! Add me as a friend!

  • @livelaughcheer100

a backhandspring isnt about flexibility. it's about a strong back and core. Once you have tightened and strengthened your back muscles, and gone through the movement of the backhandspring with a coach, spotter or on a tramp, then you're ready, :)

  • Thumbs up if your a cheerleaderr :)

  • @livelaughcheer100 you're *

    :D

  • @livelaughcheer100 can i still do thumb up if i used to be

  • @sahel1cute

    hahaa yea why not?

  • @livelaughcheer100 well im a guy and im gonna be a high school cheerleader, does that count?

  • at 0:31 she undercut really bad

  • I want to be able to do a back handspring really bad but i don't have anywhere to go with a springed floor or anything. Any suggestions please? (:

  • this is advanced? i do gymnastics and this is far away from advanced :P

  • Well I have to teach this to myself now lets hope I dont break something!! (:

  • Can you guys stfu? Cheerleading and gymnastics is just as hard one another, for real. First of all, this is a cheer video, don't come one here talking about how gymnastics is harder. Cheer you have to shout, dance, and stunt. Not many gymnast do that. Gymnastics, you have to tumble go one bars, beam and vault. I would like to see a cheerleader do bars or beam. Oh yeah, she probably can't. Either way, it is equal when it comes to difficulty level, just different executions.

    KThnxBai.

  • @hottyhood yeah gymnastics is hard because i am crap and it took me 2 years to do a good cartwheel :L but cheerleading has gymnastics aswell but without bars or anythin

  • @hottyhood

Actually, I am a cheerleader and a gymnast, so technically, i am a cheerleader, who does bars, beam and vault :)

  • @octoberbabycheer

Lol, yes. And I bet you have better form than most cheerleaders, amirite?

because, I hate to be bogus, but gymnast usually have better form than cheerleaders...

  • @hottyhood It's all silly bullshit that doesn't matter anyway. You'll learn.

  • @hottyhood even though im just a competitive tumbler and trampoline i used to be a gymnast and if you're a guy you have highbar rings vault floor pallmahourse and p bars its not just four

  • Explode Through The Legs Lol

  • ok miss make it look easy

  • @camdenmrh me to i know they make that seem easy

  • @camdenmrh ya i havent been on in a while...but i get scared of falling on my head or neck

even when i tell myself that im not gonna fall, i still get scared. its just a completely mental thing

  • thats the easyest thing ever!

  • u quyzz r FiiqhTiiNq boUT noThiiNq iiMportant

  • Try more of pyramids cuz this is too basic!!!

  • i hate how people say the cheerleading isent a sport i have been cheerleading since i was in 5th grade and i am currently a senior in highschool i can out run our star football player so who ever says cheerleading isent a sport i want to see u do all of the stunts i can i bet u cant

and i agree i learned most of this stuff in my 2nd or 3rd year cheering so this isent that advanced

  • @ItsChloeDarlin

maybe if you learned to spell " isn't " properly or better yet, eliminated contractions from your typing altogether than maybe you could realize that cheerleading ISN'T (see how it's done?) a sport.

it's entertaining and requires a TREMENDOUS amount of skill but a sport it is not.

also, if the "star football player" you are referring to is the QB than you probably can outrun him but if you can outrun the WR or RB than you have a crappy football team

  • @msfattytroll ok ive been a cheerleader for 7 years, you don't know how much time and effort it takes, do you?

  • @sabbithcullen14

did you even read my comment or is the fact that I use complete sentences and proper grammar too confusing for you?

I do know how much time and effort it takes, that's why I said, "[it] requires a TREMENDOUS amount of skill..."

  • Comment removed

  • @xxchrissyxx74

what the fuck are you talking about you stupid bitch

I have nothing against cheerleading, I was stating the fact that ItsChloeDarlin is retarded and that though difficult, cheerleading is not a sport.

Also, participation in something is not a requirement to be critical of it.

I can see how a peers criticism would mean more, but a non-peer's criticism is not invalid.

Cheerleading ISN'T a sport, you are a dumb bitch and demonstrating proper grammar is never a bad thing.

  • @msfattytroll i am really sorry. a girl on my team came home with me after practice yesterday and she used my account name to say that. that has nothing to do with me so don't go around talking about my please.

  • @xxchrissyxx74

well can you do me a favor and convey my general message to her?

I'll understand if you don't want to call your friend a dumb bitch so feel free to substitute whatever pejorative you deem appropriate, but it would mean a lot to me if the dumb bitch part stayed.

Also, make sure to relay the parts (verbatim preferably, but I won't hold it against you if you paraphrase) about proper grammar and cheerleading not being a sport.

    <3<3<3 kthxbai <3<3<3

  • @ItsChloeDarlin You're a cheerleader that's a senior and can't even spell "isn't" right??? hmmm

  • @CheerCaptain95 We All Have Spelling Incorrections , You Idiot .

  • @CheerCaptain95 that's prolly on purpose i do that sometimes cuz it looks cutesy

  • I have a cheerleading shirt that says tht!

  • no efence to this but this vdeo did not help me a bit

  • His counting must be annoying!

  • i can do a backwalkover, but i'm scared to do a backhandspring O:

i'm afraid imma hit my head.

  • dat is not hard and ur not doin it rite cause u bended ur legs. u noe wats really hard flipping forwards 3 times in a row with runnin start but u cnt touch the floor. dats hard . but i learned

  • its sad when a back handspring becomes an advanced anything >>

  • can anyone give me a tip on how to get more of a rebound after my back handspring.?? nothhing mean please.

  • She does a pretty back handpsring. its very wide and not undercutted!!

  • Puh-leez. Gymnasts learn handsprings at 5 years old. Cheer technique is pathetic.

  • @gymmonkey08 i agree with you!

  • @gymmonkey08 gymnasts learn it about 7-9 yrs old.

Cheer is different you practice lifts and stuffl; theres hardly a comparison.

  • WAAAAAAAAAAAAAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY to arched im a gymnast and my coach will kill me if i was tht arched

  • well that didnt help much.

  • UNDER CUT!! BIG TIME!

  • "this is one of the skills needed for advanced cheerleading"

pshh, they obviously don't know what they're talking about...

    (:

  • @love2cheer141 Seriously. That was a requirement for my freshman HS squad...and that was in 1992! They require way more nowadays...

  • How long does it take to learn it? I do gymnastics for over 2 months. I'm currently training a kickover and I hope I'll start back walkover tomorrow. I saw a girl from a more experienced group doing a back handspring, but I'm too shy to ask this girl or even a trainer about it...

  • @333Florence333 its different for everybody my friend got hers in a month and i got mine in about 1 and a half years so it depends good luck though

  • OK i can do a wayyyyyy better back handspring than you and probably front 2! and im bet im at least 10 years younger than you TERRIBLE technique my friend

  • @AleeshaBurkemper LOL

    good then...

    can u teach me?

    haha....i hav to learn dat...LOL...

  • @kaylakarnival shes suposed to land like that and then clean

  • i can do this . i can also do a round of double backhandspring can that girl do any harder skills? her back hand springs are amazing

  • i still cant get my back hand spring:( i can with a spotter but im to scared to try it without one:(...

  • i can't get my back handspring ! i have been trying FOREVER. hellp?

  • wow shes is amazing

  • I would love to do things with her

  • O.M.G THAT'S AMANDA

  • @KaylaKarnival actually if you have done competitive cheerleading before. landing bent over and standing at the count of 8 ensures that the whole team who has thrown backhandsprings stand together. standing at separate times equal point deductions. the only bad technique she is experiencing is dropping her chest when she sits and swings her arms back because dropping her chest is causing counter-momentum of the trick. I am a gymnast of 8 years and a competitive cheerleader of 6 years.

  • What's up with the bitching? NO sport are easy unless you've practiced it for a long time, and there's a reason gymnastics and cheerleading are two different sports! Don't try to be smart deciding which is harder, both takes equal amount of training to do. Cheerleading isn't all about gymnastics, it only incorporates certain tumbling skills. However, gymnastics is all about the tumbling (I'm sure (hopefully) most of you knew that).

    To @KaylaKarnival

Some coaches prefer you to land that way.

  • Comment removed

  • that was so sloppy!!!!!!!!!!!

  • im a junior in highschool, i want to be a cheerleader really badly but i dont have any training. the school year has already started so i think ill have to try out next year when i am a senior. is that too late? i dont know any flips or things. PLEASE help me with advice!

  • @coleyoko94 does your school require that you have to have tubmbing skills?

  • @lolliepop2916 Then Click The WoRds ''cc'' And Then Its Gone ..Duh ! Lol

  • boring

  • It would be nice if the black thingy covering all of the steps she is doing weas gone so i can see her doing the tricks bettter. (not to be rude.) but other than that from what i can see she was really good.

  • 0:49 "her toesare gonna be ff...........flat on the floor" xD

  • @laurenroxy121 Yeah, like totally. OMG! She like totally trying her best. Like whatever and stuff.

  • the lous sound is the shoes...cheerleaders wear heavy bulky shoes tht make a lot of noise when we hit the mat out of out tumbling and jumps!

  • @Bripull agreed! that *thump* is mostly the shoes, and they might not have springs or skiis under their mats. Tumblers usually do it barefoot. There, all you gymnasts. It's been explained to you. so shut up.

  • A lot of you are having a problem with the fact that it says ADVANCED cheerleading. Well in case you haven't noticed, he says BASIC skills for advanced cheerleading. Basic moves, like a back handspring, front/back walkover. To be in advanced (varsity level) cheerleading, you need to be able to do a back handspring.

She did it perfectly fine and there doesn't need to be any harsh criticism on cheerleaders.

  • Sorry I saw this video in the suggestions box and had to come laugh at the fact that cheerleaders think back handsprings are advanced. rofl.

  • @capnapalm

im guessing you're in gymnastics? idk if you are or not just there are something about people in gymnastics who have a serious problem with cheerleaders. this isnt "advanced" to us. in my town, third graders know how to do this. its called "advanced" because u need a back handspring for varsity.if you are in gymnastics, you think u have it hard?? lol TRY cheerleading. we have to do everything u do but with facials and screaming at the top of our lungs? try that next time. kthanksss!

  • @eog0314

I totally agree with everything you just said! :)

  • @SummerrQuinnx3

    thanks! lol :)
