  • Dan, you look amazing. I'm having surgery at Jefferson, as well. It's crazy how many people have this done (and at Jeff too!). How long did it take for you to regain all feeling back?

  • @dreamn2590 from your nose down everything is numb for about a week. then it gradually comes back over about a few months, but you can get permeate numbness, I never got back a couple areas on my chin. The chin is last to come back. Whos your doctor at jefferson?

    GL!

  • @dann21388 Thanks! I've only seen Dr. Diecidue so far, but I'm pretty sure he'll have someone else (Taub or Cho) in the OR. Thanks for the response too. I know about the chance of permanent numbness and am seriously nervous about that, so I always wonder if people regain all feeling.

  • @dreamn2590 well... I wish you good luck! Taub was my doc, but the other doctors were any OR as well. I regained feeling almost everywhere, but the numbness that I have my chin doesn't bother me anymore. I've used to it it's just a very little bit from the corner of my right lift down to my chin. I still have doubts that this was the best thing ever to myself. Good luck buddy...!

  • ahah you're so funny..you went back two days after! my brother said I look like the guy 'fat bastard" from Austin Power. Im going back to work next Thursday which will makr 3 weeks post op..I hope to look and feel better by then. Anywho, thanks for the encouraging words.

  • @supasa10 hows the results? you feeling better?

  • hey Dan..You loook amazing!!! I just had upper and lower jaw done as well at Jefferson Hospital in Philly. But I had Dr. Cho as my surgeon. So far I am 1.5 week post op...and I'm still fairly swelling. I hoppee it goes down even more..because I feel like my face is so rounded ans short now. Did you feel this way too after surgery?

  • @supasa10 Dr. Taub was my doctor, but Dr. Cho was there as well in the OR. The staff at their office is so nice and great. As for swelling... yeah it's gonna take awhile. But it will gradually go down. For the first week I was like what the F did I just do to myself everything was so numb. I even went back to the hospital 2 days after I was discharged because I was in shock. other than a 5-10 minute nap the first 5 days I didn't sleep. Best advice stay calm & stay strong. Congrats!

  • COngrats on the surgery bro! You look great, the video is so cool lol im looking to get the surgery too. First question""how much was it?

I dont come from a wealthy family not even a regular family with a steady income lol and also what health insurance do you recommend? i know that health insurance would cover a pretty good amount. and did it hurt?? haha im just playing i know it did lol Thanks bro, your answers would really help out a lot. Like you said i just wanna be able to smile.

  • @d4life90 hey man... well the cost i'm not sure my insurance paid for it, but I have heard that it can be pretty costly. Your best bet is to make an appointment with an oral surgeon and they'll let you know everything. I can't recommend a health insurance, because it really depends on how severe your jaw alignment is for them to cover it. Mine was at the point where I could only bite on a couple of teeth and couldn't chew my food. Wish you the best of luck and hope you're able to get it done.

  • FANTASTIC!!!!! AMAZINGGGGGG

  • Amazing result!!

    Cute face, awsome piercings!!

Greetings from the Netherlands my friend

  • @Rudewomantt thanks baby... ha ha

  • Ey Dan, I may be wrong about this, but I noticed a change in your voice as well. Of course it sounds like it was for the better as you sounded a lot more nasal and almost as if you had a litle lisp before the surgery. This is one of the things that i'm hoping orthognathic surgery can correct as I also have an underbite which I assume is the reason for my lisp. Did you discuss this possibility with your surgeon or was it a surprise for you?

  • Loved your video, im 3 weeks post surgery been the hardest 3 weeks of my life, never want to see another tin of soup again in my life lol, you look great its so worth getting the op done im glad i did it, i have about another 6 months before my braces come off, cant wait...

  • @sharkylou Thank you! The first week is sooooo tough. Glad to hear you made it through the storm! I never tried soup. I just took ensure, milkshakes, & smoothies. It only gets better from here on out. Enjoy your new smile and live life to the fullest. Once the braces come off... its even more amazing!

  • Great results! I just met with an oral surgeon who told me I have long face syndrome. I thought he was pulling my leg, but he has no sense of humor. So, thanks for posting this. At least now I have a pretty good idea of the overall process. Maybe sometime in the not too distant future, i can post before and afters.

  • very good video dude.

im having this done next year, no where near as serious as your operation but still the same thing.

This definitely gave me some confidence, just watching you through the steps getting over the pain. n u look 1000x more confident in ur latest vid than before.

    great stuff bud.

  • Wow, you look great! I get my braces taken off in less than 2 weeks, so excited! I had two questions, if you don't mind 1) Did you get permanent retainer on bottom, removable on top? and 2) How is your numbness now? Is it completely gone?

  • @shiite7 no, I didn't get a permanent retainer. They offered me a choice of a top and bottom retainer with a wire, or clear acrylic ones. I chose the in clear acrylic ones. As of my numbness, I am a year and a half post-op and all of the sensation came back except for the right side of my chin from the lip to the bottom. I don't think that that sensation is going to come back, because they said after a year and a half when you have back is what you have back. Hope that helps, and congrats!

  • OMG Dan!! U look so handsome!!

  • Haha you are RIGHT about the liquid diet !

  • Ahhhh I love how good you look! You must be thrilled with this result. Well done x

  • You look AWESOME Dan! Glad that everything went so well! P.S. I go to doc Russo in oxford valley too. =o)
