  • Jack is so gorgeous. ♥

  • I seriously never thought of Jack Nicholson as handsome at all but DAMN! Was I ever wrong! In this episode he was HOT!!! Oh my......

  • That dude on the bench would make a great Joker

  • "This hick town needs an enema!"

  • Man, this guy eats his breakfast 300 yards from 4,000 Mayberrians trained to kill him!

  • That lawyer should have demanded the "TRUTH" from 'ol Jack.

  • Yea Jack! Keeping it real even on the Andy Griffith Show!!!!

  • Jack's the one with the blue suit and matching hat on..........

  • This is what would have happened to him if he made it to Mardi Gras....

  • LOL,....Jack's on trial and Aunt Bees one of the jury!

  • This must have been before he went on that trip to New Orleans.

  • I had no idea McMurphy was originally sent to jail for stealing a television. He was probably just trying to watch the World Series.

  • "I'm not gonna hurt 'cha, Aunt Bee. I'm just gonna BASH YER F*CKIN' BRAINS IN!!!!'

  • Which one's Jack?

  • i saw this today on tv, but had to double check it anyways.

  • Goddamn it Chief, you about as big as a damn mountain!

  • He warned Andy that Barney would plot to steal Andy's job. Andy heeded his warnings and drove Barney out of Mayberry.

  • Son we live in a world that has walls....and those walls have to be guarded by men with guns...who's gonna do it? You?? You, Opie??

  • @crassyfrake Funny.

Questioner: After Brice's fixed your television set, was the picture clear?

    Nicholson: Crystal.

  • Aunt Bee's on the jury.

  • amazing that he was also doing movies like psyched out and biker films around this era also

  • "Sheriff Taylor, you want the truth? You can't HANDLE the truth! Deep down inside places you don't talk about in the Mayberry Sheriff's office, you want me on that wall! You NEED me on that wall! You want the truth? I ordered the "Code Red" on Otis, and I'd do it again!"

  • I think Jack and Aunt Bee had something goin' on!

  • How old is he, there?

  • @incrediblehulkmovies Depending on what year this was filmed, I'd say around 30 or 31.

  • What's that kid doing on the jury?

  • @daedatube That's Opie sitting next to his Paw! It must not be the jury.

  • lol jackie boy nick lol the lakers man.. i saw alot of actors on twilight zone but this one tops them all. this must have been before hells angles on wheels or something like that

  • what episode is this

  • Jack Nicholson needs to run for president!! (not my words though)

  • I just want to say to all the parents out here who think that sbows like Andy Griffith are corney or something, you are wrong, real wrong. I am a wisegirl(:, and I will tell you that me and my boys, so called, heheh, think that Andy is a G, a true O g, and old gangster. A good one. ONe that left his mark in life as a father figure to lots of kids who didn't have dads, and I think that today if parents who are single, especially moms, show this show to yourd kdis, They weill learn. My son 20, fan.

  • This was Jack's second appearance, the first being as the father of the baby left on the courthouse steps, (by his mother), that Opie and his friend hide and take care of.

  • By the by, whatever happened to Jack Nicholson? I see some potential there....

  • @JubalCalif I think he made it to Hollywood and made a movie or two.LOL

  • @doglips1958

Huggy Bear did tell me that that was the "word on the street"! :)

Never did see a courtroom that only had two rows for the spectators! Though I'm not a huge fan of the color episodes of this classic show, this is one of my favorite ones!

  • @JubalCalif what do you mean what happened to Jack Nicholson? he's still alive and yes, he's a great actor.....what do you mean you see some potential there?

  • @blackhorse099

Thanks for the update in regards to Mr Nicholson's career. Nice to know the young man has had a successful career.

  • Besides Jack, a few people who did guest shots on the Andy Griffith Show: Bill Bixby, Barbara Eden, Bob Denver, Alan Hale Jr, Buddy Ebsen, Rob Reiner. That show was the center of the sitcom vortex in its day.

  • WOW HE'S YOUNG

  • Let's understand, this was not early in Jack's career.

In fact, at the time, it looked like the end of his acting career,

he was trying to move into writing and directing.

Jack was bouncing around Hollywood for 8/9 years at this point,

could barely get work as an actor.

And I don't see stradom written all over him

    -he's average looking,

and gving a not much better performance than any of the other regulars

or guest stars on Andy Grffith.

  • Wow, he was beautiful.

  • This is like the Obama-Gates-Crowley incident!

  • yeah, baby. rock'em.

  • He's been warned.

  • i never saw this episode

  • happy days and 5 easy pieces still in the future...wow

how can islam compare to this? joke

  • Jack Nicholson's voice is unmistakable.

  • "You can't handle the truth!"

  • Why is Opie on the jury??

  • @SoulPower2008 He is not on the Jury. Aunt Bee is. The others were just watching the case.

  • what year is that?

  • It took like half a year but I finally found the episode! It's: 'Aunt Bee and the Jury." So in case anyone else is wondering that's the name. Awesome clip! I love Jack in anything!

  • funny!

  • There is no indication here that Jack would later be one of the cinema's greatest stars & the winner of three Oscars (so far). Seems like just an average actor here...it took the right roles to let him shine (Easy Rider, Five Easy Pieces, The Last Detail....the rest is history). A person predicting that Sally Field would be a two time Oscar winner during her days on "Gidget"/"The Flying Nun" would have been laughed outta town. Ya never know who may someday be a superstar! THANKS for the clip!

  • Im glad you said The Last Detail. Maybe the best example of the Jack Nicholson movie persona.

  • @JubalCalif Right you are.

Jack gave cult performances in "Cry, Baby Killer", "Little Shop of Horrors",

and interesting contemporary turns in period pieces

    "The Raven" and "The Terror",

but he didn't set the world on fire.

It was the rebellious, seething characters and experimental formats of

Easy Rider, Five Easy Pieces, etc., that allowed a greater degree of improvistation on Jack's part.

  • @wheelinthesky300

VERY well said, wheel! Couldn't have expressed it better myself! THANKS so very much for your thoughtful & insightful comment! :)

  • @JubalCalif Exactly - like DiCaprio on Growing Pains. Or Demi Moore on All My Children.

  • You gotta love some Jack!

  • Andy Griffith Show discussed in great new bio (All About Jeffrey Hunter) at amazon!

  • Hey, he was actually on the Andy Griffith show twice. The other episode is the one where Opie and his friend found a baby. Jack and the Lady where the parents of said baby.

  • Is this the beginning of how he ended up in Oregon State Hospital?

  • GUILTY!!!!!!

  • do you like to be interrupted, when you're, nancing around? bum.

  • Comment removed

  • Do you moonlight as Captain Obvious?

  • It's the lowest form of wit riptorn

  • Maybe it is...At the same time, when you make stupid statements(like quoting the obvious), my snide remark pales in comparison...

  • You're kidding, right?

  • I never actually watched the show so I take it from all the sarcastic comments that I'm getting that he was a regular on the show?

  • No. This was before he got famous. It was a bit part.

  • who wouldn't trust that face, he should have given them that winning smile.

  • I think its funny when that guy with the smart mouth sitting in the back of the court room turns out to be the real thief.

  • This is so weird to see. And cool.

  • he's all American. love the dude!

  • YOU CAN"T HANDLE THE TUTH!!!!

  • Anyone know the name of this episode? (Thanks)

  • lol

  • Actually Jack guest starred on another Andy Griffith episode besides this one, where Opie and his pal find a baby.

  • I just saw this episode a few weeks ago. Didn't know it was JN though.

    Well I'll be damned.

  • Did Ron Howard ever direct JN??

  • Jack Nicholson is the man,

  • Aunt Bea and Jack Nicholson in the same scene; can hardly put my head around it.

  • exactly. too surreal for words.

  • I hope he was found not guilty and shouted "Suckers!" as he hopped out the window.

  • He shouted: "the TRUTH??? You can't HANDLE the truth!"

  • well he wasn't guilty.

  • he should shout it anyway

  • one of the best actors out there

  • OMG!! It IS Jack Nicholson!!

  • Nicholson's quite a pervert. Read an interview.

  • great, how old he there?

  • 00:45 Steve Buscemi's uncle

  • Lol, more like his father.

  • Yo mama

  • Yo mama's mama.

  • Nicely done, wileE, I love it!!

  • He was on one of the older b&w episodes also when Opie found the baby at the courthouse doorsteps

  • I'm not gonna hurt cha! I'm just gonna bash you're brains in Aunt Bee!

  • Ha, ha, ha, put it between your knees, Aunt Bee!

  • I wonder what year this episode took place.

  • 1967

  • Didn't the find him guilty and send to shawshank? The stories sound awefully similar....

  • This before he got big.

  • this is insane

  • He should have looked at him and say,"You can't handle the truth Andy!!!".

  • @cme1strightnow I agree but the problem is that Andy can handle the truth. Tom Crusie? Not so much.

  • @cme1strightnow hahahahaha. good one.

  • @cme1strightnow A few decades too early, LOLOLOL.

  • weny,give me the bat!

  • andy just made movie in la mirada park i saw him around 2007 there, they were the best shows to relax with and watch.

  • I like the episode better where he abandoned his baby.

  • Jack Nicholson on the Andy Griffith show! Now There's a collision of different worlds! "I'm going to smash your face right in! I'M JUST GONNA SMASH IT RIGHT IN!!! Oh, I'm sorry, this isn't the reading for the Shining? "

  • I hate the colored Andy Griffith Show it wasn't the same without Barney.

  • i can't recall this episode but i wud like 2 know if anyone has any idea, preferably the title so I can find it in my DVD collection

  • Season 8, Episode 7

    Aunt Bee, The Juror (1967)

  • Preciate it

  • Turns out that this was the disc i was missing, what a coincidence, found it face down on an old DVD player i dont use any more face down, Grrrreat Episode!

  • You want the truth Aunt Bee? YOU CAN'T HANDLE THE TRUTH!!!

  • JACK NICHOLSON on The ANDY GRIFFITH SHOW?????!!!!!

HOW did I EVer miSS THATTT?!?!?!?! WOW!

THANK you for this! I'm SPEECHless!!! LOL ..well, ALLmost!;D

  • John Joseph Nicholson was on a great deal of episodic television in the early days.

  • Hard to believe that's good ol Jack.

  • You CAN'T HANDLE THE TRUTH!!

  • that's funny. three oscars ago he was doing this

  • Actually the guilty one was Goober and Floyd. They wanted a television set for Floyd's barber shop........

  • the one who did it is the guy in the tan coat behind Goober

  • SO was he guilty!? I have to know!

  • nope he didn't do it

  • Innocent.

  • He's actually not very good in this performance. Oh well, he got better.

  • I always heard that Jack Nicholson appeared on Andy Griffith but I had no idea when. I've seen this episode too, and I had no clue that was Jack. Looking at him now, I dunno how I didn't realize it.

  • ^ Yeah, I once had a 40 min conversation with Michael Jordan and I also had no clue it was him. I dunno how I didn't realize that either.

  • I guess celebs look different up close. :P Anyway, I'm wondering if there might have been more than one episode with Aunt Bee on a jury. Bewitched did remakes of some of the black and white episodes in color, maybe TAGS did the same? Because now that I think of it, I did see a jury duty episode and I don't remember Jack.
