  • McCartney song ? lool.

  • amo este tema

  • this song has always done something to me, it takes me to a faraway place.

    Stevie is a genius

  • this is one of my stevie wonder songs. i listened to it the other day and couldn't get it out of my head.

  • I opened up my mind Peace I could not find Then something out of the blue Said I needed you Time swept me away Merged me into pain Then something out of the blue Said you need me too Oh what joy it bring to me To know that heavens round Oh what gladness in my heart To know my love's been found Now where hope was lost Love's paid the cost And something out of the blue Said my love is you Something out of the blue Said I needed you Something out of the blue...
  • Thanx 4 posting! I'm normally not an emotional guy. This song literally brought tears 2 my eyes (wifey lemme cry on her shoulder *smile*). I'm goin thru family probs & joblessness with a master's degree. I'm blessed with my head up overall tho, i'm sure somebody has it worse =-)

  • @BearRilla33

same here, theres always someone worse off than us.Thank Goodness for Stevie x

  • Gracias. Had this on CD in the 90's and lost it, can't believe it's not reissued. Appreciate it JW.

  • Marvellous, a real gem and an absolute favourite to take on a desert island.

  • I'm going to have to listen to Stevie more often. It's my moral duty.

  • ricisrock, my kids are 6 and 3 and they love his music as well. they just heard this one on sunday and they love it..stevie is the best song writer of the 21 centry.

  • @doc2lovebar wish more parents listened to stevie wonder so music these days wouldnt suck so much lol

  • Excellent song

  • Another great record from the main man.

  • I would call 'Where I'm Coming From' Stevie's first real ADULT album (and the one that unofficially kicked off an incredible artistic streak that lasted the whole decade). I wish they would have properly reissued this one on CD. Can't believe Universal overlooked it when they finally did reissue most of Stevie's 70s back catalog 10 years ago...

  • I lost this my copy of this album and it's a rare find at the record shops. As i continue hunting, I can listen here.Thank you.

    Ahhhhh....

  • i remember this song being played on the radio way back in 1972....a was a boy back then....i wanted to play outside but my dad wouldn't let me because it was raining hard..so i just stayed indoors...and from then on this song stuck in my mind...it became one of my favorites...

  • beautiful just beautiful.

  • I remember the first time I heard this one.

I found it to be so deep and interesting, serious and calm.

WOW, that Stevie, I tell ya.

  • My daughters 8& 12 love old Stevie songs...wait til I spring THIS ONE on 'em!

  • Magical.

  • this takes me back to a time more innocent - for me - now feeling down and turned to stevie to find some comfort -beautiful

  • Beautiful cut!!

  • Absolutely beautiful track. The genius that is Stevie. Slightly psychedelic and sweet, soft soul that still sounds fantastic.

  • it's-relaxing-and-calm.-Not-like-his-up-beat-vibe-which-is-powerful-and-abstract!

  • if some1 doesnt stop me gettin all emotional about this song very soon i am not going to be very well probably the best song since look around

  • Oh my...Look Around is one of me & my brother's ABSOLUTE favorites!!!

  • Another cracker from his greatest record, and his least known.

  • For me,one of his greatest songs! Lyrics and all.Well maybe it was during my time thats why I am biased>

  • npenciso no way, I only heard "where I'm coming from" recently and It's one of my favorite songs/albums of all time.

  • You know (in keeping with the great mysteries theme) this song sounds like it was heavily influenced by Mcartney/Lennon and it sounds like Paul is singing background vocals but we may never know. This is a great song.

  • One of the great mysteries in the history of pop music occurrs at 1:27 of this tune:

    Chase Totaled My Climb

    Eyes Pushed Out Of Time

Nobody has any idea what these words mean, or even if, in fact, they are the correct lyrics. The printed lyrics on the album, and the sheet music deliberately omit this verse, presumably because the publisher couldn't figure out what was going on either.

  • sounds like CHAINS Totaled my climb, eyes pushed out of time. i can understand the phrase chains totaled my climb, someone or something holding you back. however eyes pushed out of time, who knows, hes blind so maybe hes talking about his loss of vision holding him back in life. it clearly hasnt tho. go stevie

  • "chains totaled my climb, I was pushed out of time" is what I hear

  • I think you misheard. "Change (or Chains) told of my plighht / plan"

" I was pushed out of time" IS closer to WHAT HE SUNG.

  • @IDLERACER

No mystery here. Omjeremy is correct. Remember this is taken from a poem Syreeta wrote. The chains of loneliness "totaled" or ended his climb to happiness and he was pushed out of time, or in other words he sunk back into his lonely blue state of living. Kind of deep, huh? But it is Stevie Wonder you know.

  • Wow!!!!! This IS sooooooooo why I love Stevie Wonder.

  • I'm SOOO in love with this song!!I can't stop playing it on my guitar!!
