  • Great vid , I'm buying one .

  • I always wanted one... But I got a calico instead. Maybe next time

  • Wow this is great! Straight to the point too... No pussyfootin around!

  • lol!! good vid! I just might be sold!!!!

  • I sure wish they sold the judge in CA

  • funny how he casually points to the target and hits almost center with the 45LC.

  • Nice review. Short and to the point. Dead on. Thanks

  • great video! no senseless talk!

  • But the question is: Is it as fun as it looks?

  • @LuthianLightbriger NO - it's too easy, shouldn't there be a bit more work involved?

  • God bless the Judge ! great demo, thanks

  • Awesome video

  • Can this thing kill a bear? Seriously. I need a handgun to carry with me when I go bow hunting

  • @Jman32183

    .44 mag minimum.

  • @Jman32183 no

  • @Jman32183 If it doesn't kill him the bear will certainly get the message quick fast and in a hurry

  • @Jman32183 A 22 long rifle can kill a bear. Everything is relative. 45 Long Colt, sure it will kill a bear. What do you want to kill a bear for?

  • I think if a bad guy is already that close to you, its already too late, and you're already in spear or sword range anyway. Spear is a lot cheaper, make as many as you want, and with a sword and shield you'll never run out of ammo. Knock the ground with your shield, and put your Roman Short Sword through them.

  • @50caliberFistFK Think a 70-year-old woman could follow that routine with an intruder? Didn't think that far ahead did you?

Living in a self-centered world you can't see beyond is a clear sign of a child still living at home with Mommy.

Word of advice. Grow up, move out of Mommy's house, and spend some time in the real world on your own before giving out advice that shows everyone how clueless, immature and inexperienced you are.

  • Oooo, ooo, Mr. Kotter, yeah I got a question, how is it illegal to own a sawed off shotgun, but not illegal to own something like this, or any handgun for that matter, with a barrel a lot shorter than 18 inches....

  • @50caliberFistFK - The barrel is rifled that is why it is legal. I shoot mine at 10 yds and I also have a friend that shoots skeet with his because they make it in a 6 inch barrel.

  • @50caliberFistFK Your a feck'n dip shit. Go back to gun school and learn something, EPSTEIN!

  • Will it shoot .45 Auto Rim?

  • @sidewindermack No. The 45 Auto Rim has a rim too thick to chamber in the 45 Colt; wouldn't be able to close the cylinder. You could shoot the slightly shorter 45 S&W (Schofield), the round that the 45 ACP/ Auto Rim descended from.

  • @coltperc Some models of the Judge have enough room for moon clips, they shoot 45ACP just fine. I have inserts for mine so I can shoot .22s for plinking.

  • @taurusjudgement My 45 Colt revolvers cannot chamber the 45 Auto Rim because the rim is twice as thick as the 45 Colt's rim, and will not allow the cylinder to close in double-actions, or the cylinder to rotate in single actions.

I can see where it would be possible to shoot the 45 ACP in the Judge, using moon clips. The moon clips for my Taurus Tracker 45 ACP are very thin compared to my S&W 625 moon clips; the thin Tracker moon clips may let the 45 ACP chamber & fire in the Judge.

  • CONT: The Judge still would not be able to shoot the 45 Auto Rim, due to the extremely thick rim binding the cylinder, even if the thin Tracker moon clip will allow it to chamber and fire the 45 ACP. The thin moon clip will keep the 45 ACP's primer about 0.049" above the cylinder face; the thick-rimmed 45 Auto-Rim will keep the primer about 0.089" above the cylinder face. The extra 0.040" thickness will bind up the cylinder.

  • Great video. I'm glad he didn't shoot any watermelons and gave us all some perspective.

  • Great video. I'm glad he didn't shoot any watermelons and gave us all some perspective.

  • The 2 ½ inch 000 Buck, 4 pellets, shot from a 3” Judge, blows a large hole in a 2x4 at 10 feet. I have not tried the 3” magnum 000 Buck, 5 pellets, but I am sure it will be even more damaging. Professionals say the magnum 000 Buck fired from a 3” Judge is about twice as effective as a 40 caliber S&W. The Judge is one of the best car and home defense weapons made. Even though it is not designed for CCW, it can be done. Those who bad mouth it are not speaking from experience.

  • I HAD MY JUDGE 3" MAG. LOADED WITH THE PDX1, TILL' I FOUND THE FEDERAL 3" HANDGUN #4 BUCKSHOT, IT HAS 9 PELLET'S , SO I LOADED UP WITH THEM, HAVEN'T SHOT EM' YET BUT I THINK THEY WOULD BE SOME BAD BOY'S... CHEAPER ALSO. LET ME KNOW WHAT YA' THINK.

  • Nice video, can't argue with a confident man.

  • Elite PDX1 is all I carry in my judge!

  • Does the leg holster fit the Judge? If so, where did you get it? I'm looking for one for my Judge 3" magnum.

  • That bird shot is like shrapnel!

  • IM WANTING THE RAGING JUDGE MAGNUM THAT FIRES THE 454 CASULL, SHOULD I GET THAT?

  • did that last shot shoot two?

  • @shooter7077 No, it looks like the top "hole" is actually a thumbtack holding up the target.

  • did that last shot shoot two?

  • lol, and he's wearing his hearing protection draped around his neck. *shrugs* its his hearing not mine.

  • Good video with an excellent demonstration of the ammo effectiveness. I only cringe at the poor muzzle direction control. Pointing reasonably close to the camera man, pointing at his foot, *cringe* None the less, a good man with a great video.

  • This guy is a clown...

  • plain and simple i like that

  • A great gun to own but mmmm a part of me wants to say it's not the BEST gome defense gun; I certainly wouldn't want to use it for that. I have nothing against it but bird shot especially like that can be bad because some of it may not hit your target but may hit something/someone ELSE which you are responsible for. Just remember that. You always have to think about what's beyond what you are shooting. Personally for home defenses A 9mm like Glock 19 is my preference but that's personal.

  • @longhairsRcool A Glock can miss its target just as easily as some birdshot. It's not the gun. It's the person behind it shooting in tense situations. Just remember that.

  • @rifleman522 yep i agree

  • An idea... full length brass 2 1/2" 410 shell loaded with FF shot and topped with .454 cal hard cast lead bullet loaded in the 3" cylinder judge. Anyone?

  • I have a Judge with 3 inch cylinder and barrel. Its fun.

  • Pointed the gun at the camera and his own foot. I cringed through the whole video.

  • Great video. Just remember gun safety: at :26, it looks like you pointed the gun at the camera.

  • This is the simplest and greatest demonstration of the judge's capabillity.

  • MrShootert +1 This 45LC nonsense is not a home defence weapon. 12 gauge shotgun is. Who is bying this shit anyway? I mean Dirty Harry would never choose this "judge" (btw what a stupid name for a gun) over his .44. And if that one is too big for you what's the problem with Glock?

  • Your can bet your local police will not be using this hype gun. Get a 357 magnum or something in 9mm+p or bigger and fill it with with quality hollow points. If you want a shot gun buy a 12 gauge (or bigger :-D)

  • @MrShootert Can't stick a shotgun or full-sized 357 / 9mm in your pocket.

I didn't think much of the Judge at first. Had the opportunity to fire several at my local gun range, using both 410 and 45 Colt. The Judge is easy to use by anyone, accurate and DEADLY. I've now changed my mind about the Judge. It WORKS.

Watched a young lady firing both 9mm Auto and the Judge. She had the Judge down pat on her second cylinder; she was still fumbling with the 9mm on the 2nd BOX of ammo.

  • how much is this gun?

  • That birdshot to the face would really ruin you attackers day.

  • @CabelasOutdoor4x4 - No, you don't NEED to pull back the hammer each time because it is a double-action revolver but if you do pull back each time, like he is doing, you will get a much lighter trigger pull.

  • If you think the .45 LC is a good round, why wouldn't you just get a revolver that doesn't put all its length in the cylinder? Birdshot might just make someone mad. Buck might be good, or it might not penetrate enough to be effective. Why would you disregard all the excellent advice out there on caliber selection based on years of actual experience just to try this gimmick? I don't get it.

  • Hey look ! It's Stevie Wonders' new gun ! lol

  • This video is what convinced me to get my Judge. Love it!

  • Please make more videos you kick ass!!

  • I picked up the new 2" polymer Public Defender- outstanding quality- it's my new main motorcycle cross draw sidearm.

The video is simple- to the point- and sells itself..thank you for sharing it!

  • @Panhead53 What are you Mad-Max or something?

  • @mrnannerpuddin I have the public defender and the only prob I have with extracting the fired ammunition is that one of the shells will hit the grip of the I just slightly turn the cylinder so it will fallout nothing major

  • i was wondering if you had any trouble with the extractor not working with the 4/10 shells. ive only seen one video that gave the guy trouble and im sure as with the glock it has a lot to do with the type ammunition you use. just wondering.

  • i know this was in 09 but the new raging judge does those and a .454 round

  • I have the 3 inch cylinder Judge, very easy to shoot, recoil is surprisingly light. Shooting 3 inch 00 buck shot (Winchester 5 pellet shells) at 12 yards produced a group about 2.5 foot wide. The rifling compresses the round pellets into the shape of sweet tarts candy. Shot at a 1/6 acre pond from about 50 yards, only saw two pellets hit the water. So they fly off radically beyond15 yards. But for a nightstand gun/home defense, it's effective.

  • Good video just be aware of your muzzle.. lots of movement and swinging it around can be a recipe for accidental discharge.

  • word of caution...do not ever break into this guy's home...haha.

  • This is a great video! When I was first looking at getting a Judge I watched this video and finally got a real look at what a Judge can do when used properly. That is, at close range, like it was designed for. GREAT VIDEO SANDMAN ... short and right to the point!

  • you were not very safe when talking in between shots. You ALWAYS keep the muzzle pointed in a safe direction. You Failed !

  • thats it...i'm convinced. i must have one now

  • I love the nonchalant nature of his 3 yard shots

  • Hard to find on youtube but check out the Raging Judge in .454 casull/.410 six inch. If you want the versatilty of brass/shot WITH accuracy, dont even look at the 3 inchers. Way more expensive but more worth the accuracy when shooting .454

  • this guy is a beast i love the way he is in control with a loaded revovler in his left hand, it really is to funny, by the way very informative video, and dont know which judge to buy.

  • @elmexicanrancor He's the best!!!!PB (his wife)

  • Buy the Judge that sends out a non-reprisal sentence to any home invader, car-jacker, or POS that threatens you or your family.

  • @elmexicanrancor Are u his wife, Am not going to buy him lol

  • I did not know that the Taurus could shoot shotguns shells! OMG!!

  • I'd like one for home defence. Not sure about a carry weapon.

  • I definitely would get one of these for my home. Hell, I'd even enjoy sports shooting with it too. Christmas is around the corner, I know what I want! Thumbs up if you want one for Christmas too!

  • @JackXIII getting one :)

  • i'm not a big fan of Taurus BUT thats kickass!! i like how versatile this bad boy is..... the thing i'm wondering is with these three different types of ammo , is the barrel polygonal, en-field or a normal rifling( if any) and would use over time cause fowling if .410 was used most of the time??

  • This man is a win machine.

  • redneck

  • lets not talk about anymore..lol what about the 410 rifled slug?

  • @lukebanditchip Taurus recommends not shooting slugs threw this gun so thats probably why he did not shoot one in this video

  • Lol "that would take care of the situation very quickly"

  • I've got a feeling that #2 or #4 bird shot in the face would end the party for any body. Good first volley to say, "You didn't break into my house, you just broke into Hell". Then follow up with 410 slugs.

  • I would get one at my favorite store but I live in Kalifornia.

  • Nice gun.

  • WHOA!!! that second target shot was fatal!!! pity for the foo that breaks in a house and the owner has that gun...

  • @Superwoman2012

The first shot with the 4 bigger holes are actually better =)

Bird shot can kill them but will most likely maim them

  • perfect video man. i am in a wheelchair and have to fire one handed. you do so well enough and show the different ammo. thanks

  • very cool vid

  • shoots a rifled 410 slug too...

  • Great video

Simple and to the point A+

  • great gun, the guy i know who lets me use it just recently shoot a racoon from 4 feet away with it.

  • i prefer a 50. Cal

  • @talabares i used to have a .500 S&W mag... now I have my Judge, and I wouldn't give it up for anything

  • @jrmyscttwds im not saying the taurus judge is a bad gun im saying that the taurus jugde is more of like a shotgun and the 50.Cal is just one big piece of lead but yes its a good gun

  • I want that gun so bad

  • This guy needs his own tv show. LOL. He rocks. Chuck Norris of the gun world.

  • lol you could knife them at that distance! If that .410 buck shot and bird shot spread that much within arms reach, it's useless shooting at anything farther. Unless, your using the .45 colt rnd.

  • Thanks for this video sandman. I searched around the web to find out what i wanted to know about the "Judge" and this video answered all my questions. I'm going shopping.

  • The Judge is a great gun! Always thought it was a bummer that the H&R Handy Gun is illegal, though. Just because the barrel isn't rifled.

  • i stagger 1 buck, 1 45lc, 1 buck, then 3 .45 lc. its an effective short range weapon with great handling, reliability and crisp trigger pull. and single action hammer pulled, you can group the 45's nicely. even out at 15 yards, no problem. sold my glock 21 full frame , the judge is my new carry

  • Blind 15 crips at 50 paces.

  • Really good video.

  • Of what i have heard and seen the Taurus Judge is great Home defence gun and does not kick near as bad as one might think. Contact me if your in the East Tennessee area and you are interested in picking one up.

  • The Gun IS what it IS... it is not a target pistol.. it is not a Hunting shotgun.

it is a close range Personal defense pistol that allows you to use several types of ammo.

BUCK shot is probably not going to kill someone from more than 5 feet away sure.. so don't use buck shot. I have found windchesters PDX1 410 ammo to be a very good choice with the 3 Personal defense discs followed by 12 Bearings.. it is going to make the bad guy dead for sure. it is not the best gun.. but it is fun

  • i know the anwser is most likely yes but because it fire 410's as well as 45's is it rifled?

  • You be the muthafuckin judge

  • Great vid! Getting "THE Judge" for the misses!

  • i'm not too impressed with the .410 out of a pistol. it can barely kill a squirrel when shot from a full size firearm, why would you want less energy and accuracy for a defense situation out of a handgun? looks cool but the .45lc is more promising. i'll pass on this one.

  • Once they make a frag12 shell for the Judge, as they have for shotguns, all other revolvers shall become obsolete - /watch?v=tnrizaO-X00

Couldn't use those shells in the home of course, unless u were thinking of renovating lol

  • @the26thhour check out Taurus's website, Winchester recently made a .410 shell just for the Judge that shoots five pellets along with three slug-like projectiles that only spreads about 2 inches out at 12 yards. pretty awesome.

  • @LedZeppelin13k7

    Thanks for the heads up

Sounds both scary & cool all at once

    B)

  • 45acp, buckshot and birdshot.....thats 3 times the fun.

a birdshot to a threat's face would be very effective, right?

  • @parodydork88

I know you said this 3 months ago but NO... bird-shot is for BIRDS... Not threats... BIRDS..

To give example of what I mean; An officer in Philadelphia PA took a sawed off shotgun blast from a 12 gauge, at point blank. The ammo used was bird-shot. The officer was able to chase the person who shot him for several blocks before DECIDING to sit down because he was starting to feel dizzy from blood loss...

  • can i repost this on a blog site? thanks one way or the other!

  • The ribbed rubber grip makes the Judge managable and fun to shoot. Try the .45

long colt cowboy ammo by Winchester very low recoil but 250 gr. bullet has a real

"Gitter done"effect. It will not blow your ear drums out like my S/W 686 .357 indoors.

Birdshoot will discourage a threat but follow up with federals 000 Buck then .45 cal.

  • Great review.....Simple, truthful and effective. I get the same results with my Taurus Public Defender. The multiple selection of ammo makes it the perfect gun to take into the woods. Too bad there is so much misinformation and insecure unfounded prejudice against the Judge?? I am a serious hunter and own A LOT of firearms. The Judge is as versatile a handgun can be. I highly recommend Federal 000buck personal defense ammo shooting 4 36 cal plated balls. Accurate and devastating.

  • Comment removed

  • Hey, I just got another Taurus Judge just like the one in this video..it's fun too!!

  • @sandman556mm how is it say across a room 10-15 feet? I was thinking of getting one for the house. You think my wife could handle it? Hows the kick?

  • that 45 LC shot looks so low recoil

  • WOW! This guy literally points the guns right at the camera person at 59 seconds LOL - he needs to be less concerned about The Judge and more concerned about putting some birdshot into the camera guy!

  • listen to this clown, cheney couldnt even kill a guy close range with birdshot from a 12 gauge... and you think birdshot from your dinky little .410 is going to stop a bad guy?... if that guy wears anything heavier than a t-shirt youd be lucky to break skin... for home defense i have a 12 gauge... sometimes loaded with buckshot, other times with slugs... id put my money on that... if i was going to use a revolver for home defense.. it would definitely be something bigger than a .410

  • @megadeth22885 Come try and rob me, we'll find out.

  • @megadeth22885 serio...and with a rifled barrel shooting the .410 shot would create such a mass spray that anything past 15 ft is gonna be pissed off and everything around him is gonna be peppered

  • This probably for the ultimate anti-carjacking, or if you live in a small apartment. A bigger house... well, maybe not. I hate it when people want a miracle gun that makes the bad guys go away and then makes you a pimento loaf sandwich afterwards. Thanks for posting the video with a variety of shells. Also, what gun did you have on your right hip? My screen is a little small to see it.

  • @mikeb1444 that was his holster. he's actually a righty, but he was shooting with his left

  • one question i wanted to know. being that judge can shoot a .45 caliber bullet, can it shoot a .45-70 round with the right size case?

  • great, quick video sandman. I like the no bullshit approach. You did not compare it to the glock 17...well done. what a fun gun to own. great gun for the cross country family roadie. God bless America.

  • @realcomo32 who are you and why are you even here?

  • If you shoot the 410 bird shot Its a good way to put a hundred to a thousand holes in your dry wall if you ever encounter a burgular outside of 3 ft. Hit him and everything else in front of it. I'd stick to 45lc in this one that buckshot group didn't look to bad.

  • Penetrating shoot n see targets does not equate to effective penetration of a human torso.

  • this guy is a horror... finger in trigger gaurd, points it loaded towards the cameraman, waves it around like a dangerous fool .... yea, we care what he recommends

  • Comment removed

  • @cba154 you're a horror

  • haha I love how nonchalant this guy is when he lifts up his revolver to shoot! Makes him look like such a badass X )

  • Way to sweep your feet at :40, LOL

  • Hey numbnuts! Keep your finger out of the the trigger guard when you're not shooting!

  • Great demo for The Judge man. It's nothing to mess with.

  • One of the best videos about the Judge.

  • I just bought a Judge PD for defense against stray pit bulls that come into my yard when I'm gardening. I need my hands free, but my weapon at the ready. We have no fence to keep them out. Most likely these are dogs released from fighting rings in the area...

Where can I get the one you're wearing? It looks like what I need.

    Thanks.

  • so how bad is the kick for a girl?

  • If you think that bird shot will put a guy down you're retarded. There are better revolvers chambered in .45lc.

That said, it does look like a fun RECREATIONAL revolver. I'm sticking with Glock & Sig for serious social situations.

  • @MegaGewehr I agree with you in many tactical situations, I'd rather be shooting the scrote with a .45 acp from my Glock. I keep 000 buck normally in the Judge. However, I guaranfucinTEE you that if I shoot someone in close range (as most home defense CQB scenarions are) even with birdshot, they are going down. I'm happy with my judge purchase (all tax deductions anyhow, right?)

  • Damn I need this gun. I pity the fool that first gets some buckshot in the face, then a .45 long colt to send the bastard to his maker. Great gun for law biding folks to fight back at murderous deralicts and thugs with.

  • i own a public defender model-blued, because blued is what GOD intended for a revolver, anyway, i dont undertsnd why this revolver is so misunderstood--it does what its intended to do, nothing less. home, personal, and auto-defense. it isnt a pistol made for hunting or shootin the eyes off a fly @ 50 yards. luv it for what it is.. nice video, im sure no intruders would enjoy being on the business end..

  • Here in Brazil to have a 22 LR gun is a terrible crime. And Brazil is the world's leader in crimes.

  • Does the .45 go any shorter because I know that the .410 doesnt go as far because of the short barrel but is the .45 bullet affected

  • Does the .45 bullet go any shoter because I know the .410 doesnt go as far, but does it affect the .45?

  • Would be nice to spray the warning bird shot in the face and then after its all 00buck action for me.. I was going to ask if it carried the 2 1/2 or 3" shell but after reading the Taurus website it is the 2 1/2 but still (I don't know how many of 00 buck it carrys) will still fuck you up point blank.. I think this would be a nice home defense round for the average non shooting joe because the spray of 00 or 000 buck would compensate for lack of aim.

  • I have one of those, I love that gun, it is awesome. My dad showed it to me, the next day I bought one. I recommend it to everyone who bothers to ask.

  • Excellent Demo. I bought the Public Defender Version, It's heavy, but it suits the round it shoots. light recoil considering, at least less than I expected. Surprisingly accurate at 15meters, I was able to keep a 4" shotgroup with 4pellet .00 buck and 3" with 45lc. I was also able to keep all shots in the head of the silhouette at 20 meters. I recommend it highly if you want a great defense gun!

  • i think the raging judge magnum would be an awesome gun to get, u can use 410 or 45 for light duty and the 454 casull when ya need serious knock down power

  • By far the best demonstration of the different types of ammunition that can be used in the taurus judge that i have seen on youtube. This video actually convinced me into getting a judge and i love it, it's a perfect home defense or truck/ trail gun Thanks Sandman

  • I shot this vidio left handed to show the ease of shooting the Taurus Judge.I'm

right handed look at whats on my right hip.

  • @sandman556mm you fucking rock dude ! awesome video !

  • this wasnt filmed in TX was it? Look familiar to a place I shoot.

  • Comment removed

  • Well There you go !

    Very Nice Video

  • this guy is the man

  • docwondernuts is right, bird shot will not penetrate lots of stuff, so wear safety glasses when shooting it!!! IM GLAD I DID!!!

  • I have a Public Defender and it shoots a much better group than this video. I'm guessing the short barrel doesn't spin the shot as much. At 15 yards I'm getting one where I pointed and three with in 4inches. At ten feet I get a two inch group.

  • This is the best demo I have seen yet of the Judge. I just ordered mine today and can't wait to get it. I ordered the new 2" blued.

  • @ 3 yds #7 1/2 will not penetrate the skull, it will disrupt visual input most likely stopping an attack. Birdshot is not something you want to carry in a self defense firearm.

Your friendly neighborhood ER MD and former 18D
