this reminds me of the days when vcr players were like, 100 dollars. companies always over charge for their new tech. i hope this thing pushes down the price of box fans.
@powerimprint he did that first before pressing the oscillating button....what the vid again.....although i dont think its even worth the money i think this technology could be used in a more useful application...
its not quite because air pressure is getting squeezed through the little nossels witch causes wind friction and sucking air from the rear of the head ,,wen i watched the full demo i knew this was not quite because the designer HIMSELF SAID (the unique design is of the circle , is shaped like a aerofoil wing )da daaaaaa not quite and defo not quite on full power waste of money open a window
In this case, the US and Japan. Makes you wonder why huh? Maybe, because they feel, foreigners are "enamored" with the Dyson name and would be the most likely to buy a $300 table fan maybe? It's all about being cool right? For that much money, I'll buy 10 regular ones and create a wind tunnel in my house if I have to. lolololol
This thing is kind of cool (no pun intended), but you've got to be kidding me. $300 for a table fan? Are you serious? Sounds like Dyson has reached the point where he thinks, if his name is on it, it has to be expensive. Somebody needs to look into if the Dyson company has a connection to BP in any way. If they're connected they could be trying to "buffer" the cost from their fiasco with the oil spill over here in the Gulf. What I find so funny is, this thing is being "marketed at foreigners.
That's why I use a simple $10 fan. It does the same job this $300 fan does and it shuts off when I turn the switch to OFF.
I can't believe someone actually bought one of these. Even if I had the money I'd be too a shamed to let anyone see that I over paid for a simple fucking FAN.
I kinda figured a lot of people would likely be sent these fans for evaluation purposes in a real home or work environment. It's just inconceivable the market price on this thing is actually $300 US though!!
Dyson should be a shamed to try and sell something like this for that much money in todays financial climate.
@pimpssmokesdrugs The air you will feel when you turn it on is smoother, since the fan/blades are inside. However, its still not worth $300 of my money for a little "Buffeting".
Just British shamelessness ! Another stolen invention of this cheeky guy from
old (75 years) patents of Henri Coanda, the genial Romanian inventor ! The other was the bagless vacuum cleaner which brought the "sir" for the thief from the old and pervert lady bloody hand.
The guy is as shameless as Tony B-liar or the mother of killers herself !
If your fuckwit Henri Coanda was so clever - WHERE IS THE BLADELESS FAN HE INVENTED. It is easy to say it was his idea, but if the idiot did not make any products then what is the point. Dyson applied the science and invented the devices he sells, they spend millions on R&D to come up with great product. What do we do then, just leave the 75 year old ideas there? Not use them for products, or wait for your dead guy to invent them? Moron.
Werty , I've seen these fans in shopping centres. I saw running displays. I'm impressed by these fans , because of their unique design & their variable speed. When they come down in price I'll get some in the future. Your prototype is pretty cool. 5***** for a great video!.
camera in that thing I tells ya.

I just got 2 simple questions, does it push more or less air than it's bladed conterpart? (per amp)? do you think it has equal "thrust capability?"
realistromeo 7 months ago
@realistromeo it pushes out way more air than a normal bladed fan.

I thought the whole point of this fan was to be silent? It's louder than any desk fan I've had. It sounds like a damn hairdryer!

@thebakerman1 It was sent to me for free by dyson. It was a pre-production model.
I would think it is worth more like $50 at the most. The unit I got is worth about 3.
