  • Seeing this, I think George Lucas made the Star Wars prequels not as much as a director, but as the over-confident owner of the ILM. The prequels merely serve as a gigantic showreel for ILM.

  • i dont care what anyone else says i like the prequils

  • Ironically the cg Yoda looks like absolute crap in the prequels!

  • 8:16

    What did he say?

  • George Lucas, you are a visionary. But why did you envision a terrible story for your prequels?

  • say what you want about the prequels, the graphics are just crazy!

  • Its amazing what can be done with technology and a good script.Pure magic and that always was the essence of movies from the begining of the cinema. I think CGI is great because behind it is more than technology behind it there is the imagination and creativity of real people. Movies didnt get bad because of cgi there were always bad movies. Lets see cgi as a gift that help us shape our imagination into reality and make great movies that otherwise would be impossible!

  • Robin Williams just edmited why the Yoda character should not be some genaric CGI piece of crap...Because the actors can express themselves when they actually see a creative-made puppet rather than looking into green nothingness and have the directors tell you what's in front of you. Because then the actor can get an entire different image in his/hers mind than what's brought in as a result and that makes it look like the actor is looking at something else that we as an audience can't see.

  • @MrDavidFILM so, the best way would be to have a puppet for the actor to interact with, and then they replace it with a cg yoda?

  • @bouchandre No. It's best to not have Yoda Cg-made in the 1st place, 'cause it just takes away the mythology of the saga.

  • @MrDavidFILM but without the CG yoda, some scene wouldn't have been possible like the dooku fight and the palpatine fight

  • @bouchandre I do have huge respect for ILM, but from a story-view it's not possible for yoda to have a lightsaber...Just check out RedLetterMedia's Attack of the Clones review (especially part 7)

  • @MrDavidFILM No that part was awfull. Yoda can fight and should fight with a lightsaber he is a Jedi meaning he is strong with the force and can overtcome physical reality and his strengt come frop his mind, but he ain`t a god, he is still lives in the physical rreality and he still needs to use weapons, he is not so strong with thw force he doesn`t need weapons, if that would be the case Jedis shouldn`t have lightsabers, nothi ever esta;ished him as so much better then Ben.

  • @MrDavidFILM Also the scene perfectly showed what his caracter was all about he can fight with a loghtsaber better then someone 3 times he size who is much younger because of his mental styrength, Yoda wis. The scenes shows Yoda ighting too preserve good and fight evil and win ecause of his mental strengrth. This is all he is about. Redlettermeduia sais that if he couldjump around like that Dooku should be able too aswell cause they were well matched with the force but..........

  • @MrDavidFILM ... actually a stronger inner person and wiser. That was what he meant when he said size matters ot ad pulled out the ship, it was a nuanced pint and can`t be aplied too everything. If it was meant so lioteral, and he meant that sizr matters not soyou should also not have too makeup for it that never made sense to begin with and the scene where he lifts the ship up prooves this wrong also, why??? Well cause h uses the force too lift it instead of just usig his arms like a giant!!!

  • @MrDavidFILM .... they showed Yoda absorb and rebounce lighting, where Dooku could only reflect and resummon it clearly demonstrating, Yoda is strnger, which means that if he fights with both the force toenance his speed and lightsaber he can use his mental strength duibbel aswell, cause he uses it as a fighter and foece ser. Also Redlettermedia sais size would still mater cause Yoda has too overcon his ize in how he fights. But that is always te case in aslmost anuy situation..........

  • @MrDavidFILM .. but ofcourse size does matter it`s just not te most decidive force. lsoinner strength is more important then physilogy aswell in what you caN do, bu size does mtter and matters the most in how you do stuff. Size matters the most in how you do stuff but inne trength is the most important and the most decisive in what you do an how good you are at it, and the fight proofs this by showing Yoda who is much smaller then Dooku fight better with a lightsaber and win because he.......

  • @MrDavidFILM ....... aslong as you are part of the physical reality. Unless you are so strong you can overcome the physical world size matters and whe you do things you have to tae size into account, but size is alwaus less decesisive then the strength from eithin and isn`t the decisive force that is your mind and heart and soul, and the mind is the most decisive and the strent from within in the results, the most decisive also fo the results is your inner strength nir your physilogity..........

  • Some visual effects work when we are familiar with real world events. God can do it himself. Lucas isn’t a god he needs gods to do his crafty handy work of wreaking the original STAR WARS beyond repair! STAR WARS is now FUBAR! SIGH you can ether like, dislike or totally hate what CGI has done.

  • @EmpireLS56KW what lucas has done to star wars is not crap! how would you like if your generation was the only one that had seen star wars? he brought these amasing films to the next generation with CG. now your kids can enjoy what you once did just as much.

  • @MinotaurHeroHD I tell you want why we’re at eating each others head off why don’t we just have Casablanca colourized and re-mixed from original mono to Dolby digital 5.1 sigh, you just don’t see it. I wouldn’t have my children watching an abomination that defines the original that made Lucas’s empire and if it wasn’t for the original paying STAR WARS fans STAR WARS wouldn’t have sequel and so on.

Originals rule and Tom Cruise narration is making me cringe

  • @MinotaurHeroHD

The CGI updating of the original movies added little or nothing of value to the movies. There was no real reason for any of it, except maybe for the scene with Han Solo and Jabba the Hutt in ANH.

  • @MinotaurHeroHD

Also, I would hate to think that my generation, and younger people than me (I'm 27), would be incapable of enjoying films without CGI elements. I love movies of all sorts, going back to the silent era - but I love them as they are, and I certainly don't think they need computer graphics to be enjoyable.

  • Gosh, I new that was coming: "And George's vision for the sequels was so grand..." here we go

  • lucas is god

  • great stuff
