BTW, in my student teaching in '76, I taught Huckleberry Finn (required reading) to a class that was around 80% black, 15% Hispanic, and less than 5% white. I saw The Blindside, and it was completely a "feel good movie". Trust me, teenagers, especially those who need a guiding hand, are not that easy to deal with. For the past 4 years my husband and I have mentored a few boys, all white by the way. It's been a crazy ride, and, like most young people, they'll have to learn it the hard way.
