I saw Vincent Shiavelli (Leonard) in his last public apparition before dying in August 2005 during the traditional feast of Polizzi Generosa, a little sicilian town in the Madonie mountains near Palermo in which Schiavelli retired in his last years. Two years later I returned in Polizzi Generosa and I meet a local theater actor who had worked with Him in some local theater show. I asked him where to find Schiavelli's House and then he gave me a book written by Schiavelli about Polizzi's culture.
I first saw Vincent Schiavelli on an episode of Moonlighting where he guest stared with his then wife Allyce Beasley. I did not know that he passed away from lung cancer on December 26, 2005. The book you mentioned was, "Many Beautiful Things: Stories and Recipes from Polizzi Generosa." I am saddened to find of his passing. If you are interested he played Inspector Manuel Silvera in the 2007 release of "The Passport" a Norwegian short film by director Amund Lie, it is in English.
Well, I gotta say that I've always thought that the dorf stuff was beneath Mr. Conway. In my mind, he's better than that. He's always been an underrated genius. Loved him since McHale's Navy. Carol Burnett? Pure genius. Barnacle Boy? SpongeBob gold! Still, if people like dorf, more power to Mr. Conway! To me, comedy is alway subjective.
guys is a comedy ack
