  • shhhh.... really cool! the most impressiv manadala video on the net! is it pssible to split the zones, that you can fire some ableton live sound on one zone and play your own sounds on another zone?

  • @5059markus Yes even though there are 128 MIDI Controller Position zones by way of continuous controller values you can still send out particular MIDI notes from the bigger Note zones. This video has the pad set to one big Note zone with the 128 Controller zones being used to open and close a filter in relation to the exact strike position from center to edge.

  • lol

  • Reminds me of Astral Projection

  • Just bought one :D

  • Sounds like KMFDM or Combichrist.

  • Dude, those drum sticks are amazing! Where can i get some??!?!?!?

  • hypnotic O.O

  • man this drum is sick I got to get one

  • buy one from the guy who made it! my buddy vince de franco! they are for sale hahaha

  • HOw much does this little pieceof heaven cost?

  • @vault9991 I think its about $349 on mandaladrumstore (DOT) com ... Out of stock atm though... I'm getting one of these, it's pretty cheap, it's only like the price of a good cymbal..

  • THIS IS AWESOME!

  • i need one in my life

  • that is amazing

  • Every time I hear this all I can think of is Mass Effect 2.

  • cooooooooollllllll'e

  • this is so fucking cool, the future of drumming right there

  • i would love to play this stoned

  • cab u get this on the blue ones?

  • That was awesome, you´re great... that was cool and i wanna be your friend.

  • wow,,,that's cool,, but what is that?

  • AWESOME!!!!

  • These are cool, what's the price tag on one of these?

  • 350 if you go to the website. Shipping is free for the us too

  • these pads are the greatest and that was one of the greatest solo runs i've ever since on them. WOW! That had some funk

  • damn this could be used for trance and so fourth.. 5 stars!

  • daammnn this is freaking badass.

  • WOW! Very cool!

  • sound like Kevorkian Death Cycle to me ... lol

  • i dont get how this works..... but its still pretty cool

  • @mURDErfAceD402 the harder he hits the higher or lower the sound is idk why assholes gave you -3

  • true. but then again i could care less what people think. I think this drum thing is still pretty awesome!

  • no it's not the harder hits that change the sound....it's actually where you hit it that changes the sound. the center is a closed filter and the filter opens up more as you hit toward the edge. position sensitivity.

  • tht sounds like the crystal method lol

  • very cool

  • Comment removed

  • wow that is incredible

  • o...my....god....there is like nothing u cant do with these!!!!!!!

  • So does this version have TRS outputs? or MIDI or both?

  • 1/4 inch left and right outputs and MIDI output also.

  • Awesome. thanks.

  • you should make an entire drum set of these, put each one on a different preset, and just play it like a regular drum set...

  • some electric drum kits have presets like that where you can mess around with the sound of each one.

  • that would take A LOT of money to make an entire drum set of these

  • hell yes it would xD

  • if i worked at the company that makes these i would make a massive set of these tho

  • just get the v.2 USB version. you can buy those in doubles for 50USD less than buying each individual one. i bet if you called up the synesthesia corp and told them you want to buy 5 of them they'd knock off a bit of the price. they made a lot of business deals in the last couple years but they're still down to earth folks. reckon it'd cost no more than 1600 for 5 pads. but i honestly think that's excessive. you only need like 3, you can do so much with them haha

  • anybody here every heard of a hang drum? those are just as sick as this.

  • Yeah those are bearst as fuck

  • I mean beast*

  • how much do these things cost?

  • SICK!

  • pretty sick sounding.

  • There going to stop making these forever! So if you want one get it now! Only $999.99. By the the time you buy a USB model A fast computer, and fire wire You just as well buy the V.1

  • If it's USB, then why would you need firewire?

Stop talking about things you know nothing about :-/

  • I have only one thing to say to these drums.... Are you.. from you future?

  • i had never seen this i though electric music was only created with keyboard synth.

i didht know there was such a thing as drum synth. sweet!

  • awesome, i see that ghost notes, accents, hit area in drum, are all variables in this eDrum

    fuckin sick.

  • how much are these? alot? i cant really find the cost and im too lazy to look more. XD

  • this thing costs about 350$

  • Check RHYTHMTANDEM for another great druminnovation

  • one of these and a loop effect then all I need is my bass guitar and someone to sing for me mwuahahaha

  • How much is this shit?!

  • the cheap one is like 300 a purple one

  • omg that was amazing

that pad is better than sex

  • wow, an insight into how tools music is made, thank you very much!

  • I need one.. a new one..

  • mesh heads (like that spongy soft springy shit on roland electronic drum) or a hard flat surface?

  • hard flat surface, designed around the feel danny carey wanted.

  • where's the LSD?

  • I GOTZ to get me one of theses !!!!!!!!

  • i fucking need one

  • Fantastic. Thanks for the help.

  • Any way you could upload this tone, seeing as it kicks ass and isn't on the usb verison?

  • you can dial it up in the mandala v2.0 virtual brain by: making it 1 zone, synth bass 2 (or one of the synth lead instruments), bandpass biquad filter with frequency controlled by strike position. also, turn on scales for the zone and make it alternate up and down one octave each strike. make the root note pretty low.

  • Really good! I like it a lot, wish i had one mandala :)

  • wow, amazing!

  • Dude, that is kick ass.

  • amazing, sounds like a mission impossible or Hitman song

  • if u plug it into an amp, you can probably put distortion on it or delay and shit.. wow!

  • I would want, if any of that could be selled here in Portugal.

  • Im in to dance music and would like to produce songs, as a bit of fun, but hopefully one day make my songs heard at the clubs. to the people that own this mandala drum, could it work with dance music and could a non-drummer like myself use it well. thanks

  • He still uses the mandala pad though he just reset the Stinkfist sound to the mandala pad.

  • i want this so bad but i dont know anything about drums.

  • you don't need to know anything about drums. that's one of the best parts. you can use your hands and fingers on the pad with very consistent results as long as you put a liiittle bit extra pressure.

i'd say it's four hundred bucks VERY well spent if you have a computer that can handle the software. (not that it requires a whole lot)

  • NOICE!

  • how much is one of those? i think it would be a nice addition to my drum kit

  • 350 $

  • what? arent those about 2000 each? well at least the real Mandala Pads?

  • synesthesiacorp . com

it's nothing special in the pad. few triggers.you can easily make it on your own. though, the module could me more difficult:)

  • the mandala has 128 zones underneath its surface. it's a patented membrane switch and it has over 40 times higher resolution than any other edrum in the world. that's why danny c uses them!

  • is there a pitch accessary? maybe something like a pedal?

  • I'm curious if anyone has managed to get this sound out of the USB Mandala.

  • that is so trippy, i love it - Is this where that sound comes from at the beginning of Stinkfist, or is that a pedal effect?

  • its the mandala

  • He uses the mandala now, but when AEnima was recorded he was using a different kind of pad.

  • I just bought version 2.0 and I absolutely love it. Was wondering if anyone knew how to setup this particular preset - filter synth - It's not listed as one of the 2.0 presets and i would love to play with it. Please let me know if any of you figure it out.

  • I was wondering the same exact thing. I'll let you know if I figure it out.

  • omg sooooo sick

  • for never enough that would be nice

  • DEAR GOD THAT IS GREAT!!!!:))))

  • damn, don't you drummers have enough to beat on? that thing is awesome.

  • Goa anyone?

  • its sounds like some trance/dance

  • it should

  • any of you guys have the new model? is it worth spending all my xmas money on? i just got a drumkit and want to add this to it.

  • I got mine a week ago. As long as you have a good enough of a computer to run it then....YES YES YES!!!!!!!!

  • $999 a pop man.

  • NO only $349! check out the website mandaladrum.

  • how much do these go for?

  • I want one...

    lol

  • That was nasty! 604

  • Cool

  • where do you get these at????

  • Neil Purt uses these now too, right?

  • no he does not

  • the dude from tool invented em right or perfect circle i forget ,,

  • Tool

  • U R A TOOL

  • STFU

  • AAAAAAAAH

  • AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH

  • ...?

  • I'll grind your parents up and feed your with them.

  • ROFL i dont give two shits about what you say through a fucking computer screen you fuckin' twat.

  • FINE! CORPSEGR1NDER, Destroyer of worlds.

  • good.

  • I bet these will take off in the future and be incorporated in some type of new music genre, some sort of live techno percussive thing. I'd start the revolution except I don't have enough money.

  • wouldnt happen

  • hollllllllyyyyy crap!

  • there's a new model that's only $349!

  • like this

  • GACK_TAKULAR!

  • this shit is awesome!!!!!!!!!!!

  • efficient to make something like ambient on drums

  • Wow That so sweet. But damn that $999 just for the pad and brain. That would be really cool to have that on my kit i dont think i would spend that much money for something like that.

  • is it true danny carrey invented these pads?

  • He co-designed them with Vinnie DeFranco.

  • Can you actually post videos of drums next time?

  • you can play never enough on that

  • Dude, could you pleeeease post some more videos of other presets. I would really appriciate it!

  • is it actually worth buying....and what about the presets.are any of the other presets worth the money???

  • im thinking about getting one of these. my only question is what do YOU run this through and how do you do it? besides headphones what are the options?

  • i run the audio out L and R from the Mandala Brain into 2 channels on my mix board and then the sound comes out of my 2 PA speakers. the cables to do that are standard instrument cables, like for a guitar. i've also used it through the vdrum speaker system and that sounds really good too. it's 2 small speakers and a subwoofer on the floor.

  • I've had one for a year and I still like it at least as much as when I got it. I play it even more now. You could plug it into your home stereo if you want. I like blasting it through the PA where my kit is set up.

  • hey man I was just wondering if you ever get bored on these things? Im thinking about gettin one and dont know how fun it would be.

  • I think danny carey should start a solo project where he only uses this.

  • you can go ahead and ship that pad to my doorstep when your done with it ;)

  • thanks

  • The stand is separate. It's a PDP boom cymbal stand CB800 and the extension arm for the Brain is a Gibraltar SC-ECLAC. The L-rod for mounting the pad is a 9.5mm Gibraltar SCLRS1. I bought them in a store for about $60 all together.

  • is the stand included? if not, what kind of stand it that and how much is it? oh and sick demo by the way

  • holy cow :D so great

  • awsome this mandala drum pad is so fucking incredible

the pressicion, i'm amazed to where technology is leading musical equipment.

  • awsome, that thing would come so handy for Dub.

freaking amazing, to thing where technology is taking musical equipment.

  • does this thing run through an amp???

  • if you want to use a single amp you can. it sounds great in stereo too, so a couple amps or running L and R through a mixboard takes full advantage of all its features.

  • could you hook it up to a normal home surround system?

  • omg incredible can't wait to get one (or two)

  • so here's the question... how much cash is one of these gonna set me back?

  • one grand.

  • $1000 in cash is how much one will cost. From what I heard.

  • these vids are great. thanks for sharing
