The ending sucked, the whole movie his character is sold as this Genius who covers his tracks perfectly and then the dumbass lawyer who he is 100 steps of the entire movie, outwits him with public records of sold commercial property. Ruined a great movie, it was a fucking stupid ending.
THE BADDEST POINT ABOUT THIS MOVIE IS(NOT A GUY THAT WANT REVENGE) A GUY GOING TO WAR AND APPLY THE RULES OF WAR(NO MERCY) VON CLAUSEWITZ STYLE!! but the regular folks dont see that and think this is about revenge!! CHECK OUT VON CLAUSEWITZ AND CHECK OUT!!
SPOILER: I heard a lot of people were disappointed by the ending, although I'm not so sure the audience is supposed to be rooting for Gerard Butler's character by that point. It's a pity they didn't make an alternative ending -- one where he dies, yes, but at the school musical recital afterwards the tie around Jamie Foxx's neck goes into some kinda self-racheting strangulation booby trap. :-)
@HelloDaves It could have ended with him blowing up the building at the end, with himself inside, along with maybe a group of politicians whose legislation had been responsible for his wife and daughter's killer getting let out. And then Jamie Foxx gets really bad diarrhea, but gets mugged and poops his pants before he can make it to a bathroom.
By the end of the movie I was actually pissed off that he died. He got to be with his wife and child sure, but I for one wanted to see him cripple the system like he intended.
@eustispanther But if that happened then everything he stood for would have been for nothing. He knew from the beginning he was gunna die, if he died, then he won. If Jamie fox played by the rules of law then butler could of killed hundreds on innocent people, but because jamie fox did something illegal and violated butlers civil rights. then gerard died and fox saved lives.. Which is what butler was trying to prove the whole time. 3:30 - 3:30
@eustispanther I know right, the ending was absolute bull shit, like the uploaders comment says, atleast give a alternet ending, and the tie thing really isent such a bad i dea, but i wood still would of liked to see clyde win, he was to smart to git caught like that anyway the bomb would of been in the walls or somthing cool like that
