  • @okiehobo1 This was a appearance on the "Town Hall Party" local TV show, which was broadcast by a Los Angeles television station. This show had a lot of Country and Early Rock musicians performing on the show. YouTube viewers MUST check out the "Town Hall Party" appearance of Jim Reeves. It is amazing to see him perform LIVE before a studio audience!

  • This was a time when Gospel music like this was losing its hold on the general populace. The Fifties destroyed the base hold of religion on the masses as far as Pop Music both Country and Contemporary. The sensuality hereto shown in the latter half of the 50's and onward in Country and Rock Music shows the ascendancy of music that spoke to everyday life, its pains , its passions,. It was truly a judgment call on the importance of religion in daily life from that point even to today.

  • This song, aswell as Johnny Cash made me form my band that i have today. We're not at all that big, but people in our neighbourhood like us because we play old songs from Elvis Presley, Muddy Watters, Little Walter and of course Johnny Cash. =D
