i tried this but on microsoft word, the period looks a lot bigger. :O. but i tried font size 13 and they look the same, and it did add length to my paper, maybe not as much as a 14 font sized period but it did help. thanks!

Unless you have professors who demand digital copies to check these things as well as plagiarism... It becomes more of a hassle to make it look longer than just writing more. Less of a risk of getting points docked too.

The only reason it makes the paper so much longer is because it makes the seperation between lines larger. So you might as well just make the spacing 30pt instead of "double" for example.

Also if the font of the period size still looks to bold or big, try this.. while you are changing the font from 12 to 14; make the 14 font size italic. This works and is impossible for a hand in paper to be recognized.

Whoop de do. People have been doing this for decades/centuries to pad book lengths.

Normal spacing in professional text is to have *two* spaces between sentences, not one, and it does the exact same thing. Single spaces are only used after abbreviations.

Get in the habit of hitting space twice as you type. Otherwise you'll have to do multiple search and replaces - one to add double spaces to sentences, and one to remove extra spaces after "Mr." and "etc." in mid-sentence.
