i really like the sound of this guitar, because i like tha acoustic better than the electric but if you are looking for a good looking guitar with a clear sweet sound like an acoustic this is your guitar i mean it really worth the money didn't it?
@xNmilesx It's not the guitar that sounds like acoustic. In the video, he didn't put the distortion on. If he put the distortion on the amplifier, you'd get heavy metal.
Please, if you're going to do a guitar review at least know that the "closest one to you" is the neck pickup and the furthest is the "Bridge pickup". Also, hold your pick properly and plant your wrist by the bridge so that you're more accurate with your strumming. Also, show us the distortion sounds.Other than that it was okay.
It sounds very much like an acoustic guitar. Yeahhh... I think I won't be buying this. I'm gonna buy a $1300 gibson les paul studio with chrome hardware and a $1300 fender twin reverb. I want to start off with great sounding equipment.
@RainbowConure its not the guitar to make you sound great i practised on a cheap chinese electric for 4 years ive only just laybuyed my 1800$ strat keep that in mind id rather start cheap.
@RainbowConure Dude, It's not the guitar that sounds acoustic. It all matters on the amplifier. The amplifier distorts the sound. So even if you have a 50$ guitar with a 200$ amp, you'll get good sound.
@RainbowConure thats cos its being played on a really shitty amp, a really shitty amp. Maybe I got lucky but mine is fine. Im still gonna switch pickups on it but it sounds good. my only problem is the frets need to be shaved cos they stick out too much

Anyone who knows please respond, Very important
i have this guitar i use it allot and the thing is in good shape and i understand what you mean by the whammy bar mine doesn't even fit in the tremolo i have had it for 2 years now but other than that i think it is a good beginner guitar but its not that great sounding so i got a new amp (roland cube 40xl) and a digitech hot head distortion pedal and it sounds great overall 7/10 including the amp and pedal it will take a while to work out the kinks the truss rod has to be adjusted and thats it.

@Paulwaite11 whit a 20w or a 25w you can play guitar at home. Whit a 50w amp, you make your neighbors become crazy when you play guitar, and you too xd
i actually got a starcaster by my dads uncle xD i actually hate it!! i almost never use it but im gonna buy some new parts and stuff and make the guitar much betther tough :D
hey man for you which is better to starting playing guitar, your fender starcaster o the squier by fender, which is the difference and which you recommend
Why are people saying Gibson OR Les Paul. First of all, Gibson is the company that makes Gibson Les Pauls. Les paul is the specific type guitar and its full name can vary depending on the brand (like the gibson les paul, Epiphone les paul, etc.)
i stopped watching this video as soon as he said whammy bar.... ITS A FUCKNIG TREMOLO ARM UNDERSTAND THIS PEOPLE! it tremolos sound it dosent fucking whammy, the word whammy appears nowhere in musical terminology.
@tocrazy4cabbage If you want to get technical about it it's a vibrato arm, actually; Leo Fender got the terms 'tremolo' and 'vibrato' mixed up when applying for patents. Tremolo is a variation in volume. Vibrato is a variation in pitch and, therefore, the technically correct terminology.
@tocrazy4cabbage You might want to be absolutely certain you are right before you go nuts trying to make a point. It's not a "tremolo arm" and it never has been, regardless of whether that name has been applied to it in the past. It's a vibrato bar; it has nothing to do with swells in volume (which is what tremolo is). And at this point in history, the term "whammy bar" is accepted and understood as a synonym for vibrato bar. But, again, it has NOTHING to do with tremolo.
@ifutureman omg i'm sooooo sorry, you should wright to fender and tell them that they've been wrong all these years... didn't know fender did a Fender Wammy System i thought it was the Fender Tremolo System but fender must be wrong *slaps my wrist* naughty boy me -_- fucking 40 year old small time cunt get your videos of you tube and put yourself on stage.
@tocrazy4cabbage Anyone who knows anything about guitar knows that Fender used the word "tremolo" incorrectly, and the misnomer managed to take hold. It wasn't like Fender was the first one to invent a vibrato arm either; Bigsby did it first. Fender also screwed up and called the tremolo effect on a lot of Fender amps by the name "vibrato". This is all old news, except to some stupid fuck like you, mr cabbage.
@ifutureman i like how you take my youtube name and then automatically amuse im some troll, this is actually a random account i made for a joke, in reality, i actually play on stage and gigs, including the download festival in England, i'ver way dude you still suck...
@tocrazy4cabbage No, I didn't "amuse" you were some troll, nor did I assume you were one. I assumed, correctly, that you are an asshole. I've played on stage at gigs plenty too. It's not that big a deal. Either way, you made a huge deal out of your insistence that a vibrato unit (or "whammy bar" in generally accepted usage) should be referred to (incorrectly) as a tremolo unit. Then, when a few people pointed out you were wrong, you threw a shit fit like a little bitch.
@ifutureman riiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiight, listen, instead of arguing with people over the internet like a loser, your the one making the biggest deal about this, dude just chill out and take a pill, you really need quite with the tought guy talk "threw a shit fit like a little bitch"? thats hardly the talk for a man in his 40s to someone who's a in there late teens, and shows not a big deal? ye your show probably wasn't im speaking of download festival in Briton over 70,000 people, that a deal
I didn't even bother installing the whammy bar on mine. I have a question: Mine was made in China and it's fretboard is made of a very dark wood, I don't remember what, but I know the neck hasn't been replaced because I bought it new (I got it on Ebay, but it was in the unopened original packaging). Did yours get a different fretboard because it was made somewhere different, or what?
Hey Matt, I have been looking for the best bang for the buck in learning. I have never touched a guitar bit have a music back ground. Thx for the vid. Bought it today. Now, is there a good youtube lesson vid?
Watch this guy's video and you will never worry about your trem system again: His name is Galeazzo Frudua. Just search Frudua on you tube and find the How to keep your strat temolo in tune. It's great
I'm sorry but your guitar playing is atrocious and when giving a demo on the guitar you should use the correct terminology so instead of saying, "the switch that is furthest from my body" the correst way would be to say, "this switch position uses the bridge pick-ups, or this uses the neck pick ups or the middle pick up" so that someone knows which pick ups sound like.
You also are utilizing the Tremelo bar incorrectly so of course it's going to go out of tune. Work on your playing too
When you move the whammy bar you can hear a little "tink". Use a regular pencil and one string at time...pop it out of the nut slot and draw/rotate/scrape with the pencil.into the nut. Get it? Get the graphite from the pencil into the grooves of the nut. Then put the string back in it's grove and use the eraser to clean the excess from the nut! Also when you use the bar...make a conscious effort to give it a quick "snap" back to the starting point. Good job on the vid! Hope this helps.
@MattCarlBMWZ3 Bought this same starter pack when I wanted to include guitar in with my bass playing. A detla labs rock distortion is a perfect compliment to this set (as the distortion on the amp sucks balls). Also picked a used crybaby from a friend later on, so the set suffices for any beginner.
things don't seem to have gotten any better with any of the other trem systems. i prefer the 6 screws over the 2 point trem on the 2 squiers i own! well done anyway.
I had that same SP 10 amp 2 years ago when I bought a squier strat pack. I bought a line 6 and a marshall a year later, both 15 watts and It made my guitar sound a lot better. But you play good. Nothin against your amp.
i own one of these the whammy bar broke off and the pickups went to shit in a hurry. so i repainted it rasta colors and put the pickups from an old harmony in it. it plays great now. but if u want a good guitar for fairly cheap go with ESP
the starcaster is good for beginners, but i would'nt recomend it if you're thinking on getting serious on guitar. It's of poor value considering the poor pickups, the poor wiring, and the tremolo bar tends to cause the guitar to fall unreasonably out of tune while playing, a nightmare at gigs. Also, the frets and neck fade very quickly and usually cause a very ugly, tinny sound. Good video though.

what genres of music do you recommend for this guitar? i have a starcaster but its shit and i like to play heavy metal, what artists would you recommend i spend my time practicing with?
i own a early version of this guitar and i found exxelent ways to have metal disortion i would recemend going with a better guitar howeveer i was very lucky to fix it were metal and disortion was actually good
@yannedge Why would you need to see the head of the guitar? this isn't a review, it is a demonstration of the sounds that the guitar is able to output with the stock amp. In my unboxing and review of the guitar i show the almost every aspect of the guitar.
@MattCarlBMWZ3 oooooooook, sorry for this bad comment, I probably dont understand that it was a demonstration of the sounds, I was thinking that you want to show us the guitar, sorry sometimes Idont understand english cos im french......best regards.
i just got this one upgraded from a cheap 99$ walmart guitar, but that guitar when i plugged it into my computer and used an FL Studio amp, sounded GREAT. i had to buy new strings for it then the sound really came out. so im looking forward to using this with new strings.

hey man for you which is better to starting playing guitar, your fender starcaster o the squier by fender, which is the difference and which you recommend
toniopeic 7 months ago
Why are people saying Gibson OR Les Paul. First of all, Gibson is the company that makes Gibson Les Pauls. Les paul is the specific type guitar and its full name can vary depending on the brand (like the gibson les paul, Epiphone les paul, etc.)
brucy9 7 months ago
How is it different to a strat? I thought you got the name wrong to begin with until I saw the headstock.
J4m3z1 7 months ago
@J4m3z1 a lot cheaper electronics and pickups, the overall build of the guitar isn't up to par with the actual strat.

i stopped watching this video as soon as he said whammy bar.... ITS A FUCKNIG TREMOLO ARM UNDERSTAND THIS PEOPLE! it tremolos sound it dosent fucking whammy, the word whammy appears nowhere in musical terminology.
tocrazy4cabbage 8 months ago
@tocrazy4cabbage Holy shit, calm down dude, Tremolo arm is the correct musical terminology but everyone knows it as a whammy bar.
MattCarlBMWZ3 8 months ago 16
@MattCarlBMWZ3 The guys in the UK call it a whammy bar, so I guess it's fine with me. :P
snickersfan15 7 months ago
@MattCarlBMWZ3 Agreed
Deathreaper091 7 months ago
Respond to this video... hows it work with playing more heavy metal
Deathreaper091 7 months ago
@MattCarlBMWZ3 twat its called vibrato arm not tremolo thats the "correct musical terminology" seems u know alot about what tremolo and vibrato means
123tsh 6 months ago
@tocrazy4cabbage If you want to get technical about it it's a vibrato arm, actually; Leo Fender got the terms 'tremolo' and 'vibrato' mixed up when applying for patents. Tremolo is a variation in volume. Vibrato is a variation in pitch and, therefore, the technically correct terminology.
Now stop being so fucking pedantic about it.
Vanguard448 7 months ago
@tocrazy4cabbage Actually it is called a vibrato bar
123eddyg 7 months ago
@tocrazy4cabbage Actually it is called a vibrato bar.
123eddyg 7 months ago
@123eddyg actually thats it's second name, officially its a tremolo.
tocrazy4cabbage 7 months ago
@tocrazy4cabbage You might want to be absolutely certain you are right before you go nuts trying to make a point. It's not a "tremolo arm" and it never has been, regardless of whether that name has been applied to it in the past. It's a vibrato bar; it has nothing to do with swells in volume (which is what tremolo is). And at this point in history, the term "whammy bar" is accepted and understood as a synonym for vibrato bar. But, again, it has NOTHING to do with tremolo.
ifutureman 6 months ago
@ifutureman omg i'm sooooo sorry, you should wright to fender and tell them that they've been wrong all these years... didn't know fender did a Fender Wammy System i thought it was the Fender Tremolo System but fender must be wrong *slaps my wrist* naughty boy me -_- fucking 40 year old small time cunt get your videos of you tube and put yourself on stage.
tocrazy4cabbage 6 months ago
@tocrazy4cabbage Anyone who knows anything about guitar knows that Fender used the word "tremolo" incorrectly, and the misnomer managed to take hold. It wasn't like Fender was the first one to invent a vibrato arm either; Bigsby did it first. Fender also screwed up and called the tremolo effect on a lot of Fender amps by the name "vibrato". This is all old news, except to some stupid fuck like you, mr cabbage.
ifutureman 6 months ago
@ifutureman i like how you take my youtube name and then automatically amuse im some troll, this is actually a random account i made for a joke, in reality, i actually play on stage and gigs, including the download festival in England, i'ver way dude you still suck...
tocrazy4cabbage 6 months ago
@tocrazy4cabbage No, I didn't "amuse" you were some troll, nor did I assume you were one. I assumed, correctly, that you are an asshole. I've played on stage at gigs plenty too. It's not that big a deal. Either way, you made a huge deal out of your insistence that a vibrato unit (or "whammy bar" in generally accepted usage) should be referred to (incorrectly) as a tremolo unit. Then, when a few people pointed out you were wrong, you threw a shit fit like a little bitch.
ifutureman 6 months ago

GasSnake2003 8 months ago
@GasSnake2003 you prob. got a rosewood fretboard

Hey Matt,
Good video on that guitar.
Watch this guy's video and you will never worry about your trem system again: His name is Galeazzo Frudua. Just search Frudua on you tube and find the How to keep your strat temolo in tune. It's great

Greenie369 10 months ago
I'm sorry but your guitar playing is atrocious and when giving a demo on the guitar you should use the correct terminology so instead of saying, "the switch that is furthest from my body" the correst way would be to say, "this switch position uses the bridge pick-ups, or this uses the neck pick ups or the middle pick up" so that someone knows which pick ups sound like.
You also are utilizing the Tremelo bar incorrectly so of course it's going to go out of tune. Work on your playing too
Janicemaxwell 10 months ago
When you move the whammy bar you can hear a little "tink". Use a regular pencil and one string at time...pop it out of the nut slot and draw/rotate/scrape with the pencil.into the nut. Get it? Get the graphite from the pencil into the grooves of the nut. Then put the string back in it's grove and use the eraser to clean the excess from the nut! Also when you use the bar...make a conscious effort to give it a quick "snap" back to the starting point. Good job on the vid! Hope this helps.

does the guitar have rock tone??
buzz00701 11 months ago
@buzz00701 not really, i bought a cheap first act distortion pedal for around 10 bucks that works great and has an awesome rock tone.
MattCarlBMWZ3 11 months ago
@MattCarlBMWZ3 i have this and if u run it through a marshall 10 watt it has perfect metal pop rock punk classic wat ever u want
memphismadnesstv 8 months ago
@MattCarlBMWZ3 Bought this same starter pack when I wanted to include guitar in with my bass playing. A detla labs rock distortion is a perfect compliment to this set (as the distortion on the amp sucks balls). Also picked a used crybaby from a friend later on, so the set suffices for any beginner.

what effects were used?
dare4distance69 11 months ago
@dare4distance69 no effects, just the standard settings on the amp and guitar, it's pretty much the only sounds you can get out of the amp.
MattCarlBMWZ3 11 months ago
@dare4distance69 the amp has over drive which worked fine for me untill i got a distortion pedal, which of course sounds better.

santanaincubus 1 year ago
i own one of these the whammy bar broke off and the pickups went to shit in a hurry. so i repainted it rasta colors and put the pickups from an old harmony in it. it plays great now. but if u want a good guitar for fairly cheap go with ESP

the starcaster is good for beginners, but i would'nt recomend it if you're thinking on getting serious on guitar.

@yannedge Why would you need to see the head of the guitar? this isn't a review, it is a demonstration of the sounds that the guitar is able to output with the stock amp. In my unboxing and review of the guitar i show the almost every aspect of the guitar.
