everytime he felt the urge to use his ways on mina he didnt.. he let her come willingly and she did sad she would of ended up with him..shes not elisabetha. love with tragedy.
.. the inner thought of a man who loved, lost and is full of vengance and if it were true symbolism of giving into temptation then why didnt mina ? apparently it was because of the power with mind control.. lucy really had no control ..its not like she was drunk and didnt remember last night lmao. oh stop the criticizing of this and that and enjoy art imitating life. i dont know anyone that could remake a classic agreed but he wasnt trying to. he made draculas heart pump blood.
Dracula bangs lucy because lucy lets him. Its supposed to sympolize the immoral nature of female sexuality. When lucy says she's sleep walking, its an excuse for her actions. We discussed Dracula in AP lit...awsome story by Bram :)
Wow Carfax Abbey really DOES need some rebuilding. I know Dracula likes old things, but I hardly see any walls! Compared to the ones in the 1931, 1970, 1973, 1977, and 1979 versions he got a pretty lousy deal with that purchase.
"I am your servant"!!!!!!!!Wow that made me shiver and I would say, "definitely". I would melt just with that man's voice. This movie is the greatest, like it also gave me the most dark, erotic of thoughts while watching it. I should buy this and keep this movie until I die hehe!

The Wolfman and Bat Monster are excellent creations. Well done! We can only hope that one day masterpieces like this will be brought back into the minds of the public.
i would loooooooooove to bang a chick on a cold concrete slab in the middle of a cold, wet and windy English night. And all the time I'm a fucking wolf, but then HAR HAR I'm also a rich foreign aristocrat who picks up chicks in the streets of London with my fake accent and mysterious blue glasses. This film is simply genius.
Well, in this particular movie, Mina is the reincarnation of Dracula's bride, Elisabeta, so that is why he pursues her instead of anyone else...it is also why he tried to restrain himself from feeding on her.
"well, in this particular movie, mina is the reincarnation of dracula's bride"
I understand this, but its just creepy that(in the movie) he always knows he is trying to find the love of his life, but he stops for a bit of a dalliance with her best friend. Can't help himself. I know its in the book, but its still creepy nonetheless.
And with my earlier comment, I was just making a joke about the 'do not see me' 'see me now' lines in the film- just thought it was funny, albeit hypocritical, considering she is his 'one true love'.
the movie portrayal is nothing at all like the book; sexual references are brief, indeed (lover). I cannot imagine following the movie script without having first read the B/S book, the movie runs around too much & by-passes to much. Nonetheless, it is a good effort & I have enjoyed the cast.
can anyone tell me what the hell is going on? who is the beast in the garden with the red head? where the hell did he come from? the estate with the girls went from 100 percent normal to extreme insanity with no story to back it up! wtf!
Haven't you been following the story? Dracula has come to London he bit Lucy the gypsies are sucking Jonathon dry, the gypsies like the taste of babies, and men. Dracula prefers the taste of young women, and can change into multiple forms.
so why was there some random, extreme storm with violent winds and rain that subsided in a matter of seconds? was the beast in the garden supposed to be a form that Dracula took? sorry, I was kinda high when I watched this, but it really seemed like it went from normal to crazy in zero seconds flat and a violent storm appeared out of nowhere and then disappeared. my bad.
Dracula has many forms, as he is a beast of the undead, when you're watching Dracula high this movie can give you that wtf kind of bewilderment. I would recommend reading the book to understand Copolas take on Brams book. He is speeding up the story; the storm comes down as Dracula comes closer to London as if to show the impending doom of the city.
I can understand Coppola's use of the storm as symbolism for something terrible on the horizon... I guess I just think it was a little bit too over the top. I know Dracula can take different shapes, but I didn't know he controlled the weather!
Hahaha, omg. I blazed a few hours ago and I'm wondering the same thing. One second everything is quiet. Dracula gets a little to close to John, John is stormed by gypsy vampires and a Siamese twin thing, and then Winona Ryder and the other girl start making out in a storm...Awesome

I just love the mood of the film, really dark and erotic.

that scene was taken frm novel.
