My favorite Grass Roots song; it's such an "put you in the mood" song for Man and Woman. The beat...the harmony...a man's testimony to walk a million miles & cry a million tears just to have me near him. OMG, Walk no further love I'm here!
Hey -I am serious does anyone know why the grassroots aren't in theR&R hall of fame? I just don't get it! Any ideas- conspiracy theories? lack of payolla or an over-sight?It crosses my mind when I see who has gotten in - am I alone?
@ronniead1able Hey Ronnie, Just perusing the comment while I listen to my favorite GR song. I to, have pondered your question...they certainly get my vote. I'd like to to meet with the voting committee from the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Foundation. They voted in ABBA last year (2010) . Artists are eligible to be inducted 25 years after their first recording is released. Hello?
the grass roots were a great band with lots of good songs, their problem was that their lineup kept changing. I forgot how many songs they had that I liked. great band
Im 16, and I prefer listening to the old songs back in the 60s, 70s and 80s than listening to the shit they play nowdays *cough cough* justin Bieber *cough cough* anyway...the 60s, 70s and 80s were the fucking best!
Thank you so much for uploading the original version of this song. I had an MP3 Version but recently realized that it's re recorded. When I was not that familiar with Rob's voice now and then, I didn't hear that I was listening to the re-recorded version. But thanks to you I can record the original version now. All the MP3s available for purchase are the horrible re-recordings. It's so annoying.
Thanks again for posting another one by The Grass Roots. Can't ever get enough of them. It always takes me back to such a happy place in my life. Thanks so much and please keep posting. They still have a lot of great songs.
Thanks also for posting the lyrics. This is a hard song to decipher all of the words. Good alteration of the lead vocals between Rob Grill and Warren Entner.
Very good song!

The fact that this only went to #15 should tell you just how great the music was in 1969.
