I and my coworkers at ILM spent many months perfecting the look of dynamic fur in the truck chase sequence and the closing shot of the film. Dreamquest also did some cg shots of Joe when he's in LA. The good old days when vfx were still a mix of practical and cg.

yes , joe indeed is named after the giant ass blue diamon in titanic . i mean it all leads up , all that guy wanted was the blue diamond , then he pulled a national treasure move , and made up these random ass statements about fucken who knows what , queen elisabeth or something , and didnt make any sense , and found out he was looking for the big gorilla thing all along .
