If you are homeless due to any kind of Addiction or a Life of Crime then you have no one to blame for your lot in Life but yourself and I have no sympathy for you.

There are people that are Homeless due to no fault of their own but they are few and far between.

There are times that I feel so depressed about our current crisis that I wish I were dead. As a former Marine WE NEVER GIVE UP. I was very angry and depressed that when I became sick and tired that the system seemed to question me more than the lazy crack asses who have been playing the system FOR YEARS. I knew a fisherman who lived in his Pick-up camper and sometimes in his small boat. His name was paul. He was cool. Not worried about tomorrow. Living life one day at a time. Brought us a birthday cake. He figured it all out. Used to get the day old bread in the dumpsters. Things have changed. After 23 years of stress, anxiety and degenerative joints disease I applied for Federal disability and was approved. As a former Marine veteran of 8 years I gave it my all. 12 years of Customs and 3 more as a loss prevention agent. People (to include illegal aliens) are soaking the system and have contributed NOTHING to our democracy. I feel bad for not making it 30 years of work. It's time people take responsibilities for there own actions. Stop blaming everyone else. I own three homes and have owned others in the past. Each time before I closed the deal on the new purchase of the home I knew what I was getting into. I knew what type of loan I was signing up for and I knew what the payments would be. Only greed and ignorance will cause someone to purchase a home they can't afford. If you want a big house make sure you can afford it, If you want a small one do the same.

I am not a guru in wealth management but its only common sense don't buy things you cant afford. The Government is in the same boat, They are so deep in debt but yet they keep handing out money to people or business when those people or businesses should fail or go bankrupt. I was 3 years homeless at an age of 57. many homeless are mental patients and junks and the SOCIAL workers love them, because it means good money for them.

To escape is not easy I made a small shanty boat, cold in winter, now I have an oldage house of 2 rooms.

Most likely this man posted this outside his home as his page is underdeveloped and comments are few. His page claims he is in the Netherlands. I like his solution using the water to deal with homelessness there are places where you have a boat you can get shore power for minimal cost acess to shower etc with todays cellphones you can be homeless and stil be acessed for employment or family. While I prefer to dwell in a better location the water offers softer options for homeless.

I was homeless for 6 years, alot of these people, in fact 85% of them get comfortable and lazy with their homeless lifestyle and choose not to make an effort. Notice that through the first half of the film everyone who in interviewed is drunk or has a hangover. You can hear it in their voices. If they made an effort things would be different.

Yeah, that pisses me off too! I am in southern orange county,CA & am losing everything due to land development & not even foreclosure. I am basically getting nothing because I owe more than what my 'settelment' was, I lost my job, got outsourced to India!! & I am working hard to find another one, but over & over, rejection, lack of jobs, no affordable housing. I have seen jobs right here in Edmonton that pay you the day you work. Maybe not as much as what begging would pay but its honest work. They should go join the army. my boss is so desprit for workers that he actually rented out a room in a motel and hired a guy and paid him22 dollars an hour to work. housing costs were all payed for by him and the bird brain quit the job after 2 weeks. i think they deserve it.

"Sleeping in apartments" I left a friends apartment and there were two homeless people in the foyer passed out and reeking of puke. @mukkmuk um when this place shut down it was seriously close to a soup kitchen and a drop in centre. I walked by that place every day since it opened cuz it was on my way to where I was going. Everyone seemed so happy that they had a place to call home. After they shut it down the shelters where over filled.
