With non-Muslims, however, there's no 'good'/'bad' distinction - all are going to hell. That's what clearly seems to be the position in the Quran and that's what all Muslims I have come across have said. You, interestingly, are saying that atheists, Hindus etc can just as much go to heaven and that the Quran isn't condemning them when it says non-believers.

@WSPUNIT Just to point out that yes I am Christian, though I do respect your religion. I'll admit that yes there are things that we do not agree upon, however, everyone is entitled to their different perspective of things. I just wished to clarify your statement with what the cross really does symbolise - Jesus's love and sacrifice for us, not Jesus himself. It is a reminder of his dying so that our sins may be forgiven.

According to the bible - Jesus was sent by God as a Redeemer. His death was part of God's plan of salvation. Jesus rose from the dead on the third day of his death, spoke to his apostles and ascended into heaven. Maybe that might have been interpreted by Islam as Jesus being saved and not killed? Don't know if this answered your question.

Well no as I said earlier Islam does not believe that Jesus died when he was hanged on the cross, we believe that god would not let his prophate be treated like that so a mircle happened and his soul went to be safe in the sky by god, while in his body the soul of a men that offended Jesus was replaced, as you can see that is why he came back from the sky after 3 days, because he didnt die and come back from the dead, however we muslims also respect what you believe :)

@Johnsm1234 no you did not but offend any one but can I just make something clear to you as well, we Muslims believe that Prophate Jesus was not hanged on the cross, we believe that before he was hanged a mircle happened and his soul went up in the sky, to be safe by god, and in his body was replaced the soul of the soldier/ man that offended him. Because we believe that god/ Allah would not let the soul of his prophate be tortured and hanged, so that is why a miracle happened :)
