Sorry I can't seem to dupe it using the method described on the demon's souls wikia. Looks like you might just have to beat the game and get it on the next play through.

@Bobban well i started a NG+ , and i discovered that my def was too low , so i had to start this game all over again .. but , ill try that strategy , thanks for ur help
@ANGRYMAPLE Actually once you kill him, you're free to go pick up the Demonbrandt. So, it's best to do this and get his armor set than just lowering his HP to 75%.
If you use the Storm Ruler, the normal R1 attack has huge knock back with little to no dmg. mine broke when we passed the catapults, so no dmg at all. just huge knockback.

Because,right now he is just guarding the sword..
Once you get his health down a bit you may take SoulBrant...
Then he goes hostile if you get his health down to 50%

i failed to kill him the first time , now he turned hostile and attacks me everytime i approach , gonna try this strategy .. hope it works! :)

Make sure to get his health down to get the sword, killing him like this makes you lose it =/

@thunderedblade Looked like it. I think it bugged the mob when it tried to leash back to it's room.

@thunderedblade Yeah, once you lead him past that first catapult, all he does is try to walk back to his little room :D
