  • do Arthur's training programme and eat like a horse, thats what we did for the Auckland marathon and found the marathon was like a rest day compared to what Lydiard had us doing. We did a 100 miles a week most of the year, 4 days a week through the mountains and sometimes a 2 hour bike ride to the Auckland cross country champs, run a 12km race then 2 hour bike ride home. Always went to bed after training when we were sick.
