He would probably die. He looks like an old guy. He wouldn't be able to win any fights for a pride and therefore starve with no young females around to do the hunting. He'd have one hell of a time trying to hunt anything with that mane...and he's probably pretty slow (slow for a lion trying to hunt).

@Delisle4 Tigers are the real king of the jungle. Tigers are faster, bigger and stronger and are also capable of hunting on their own. Lions normally hunt in packs so if a tiger spots a lion on its own then the lion is pretty much dead. I saw a lion on the discovery channel trying to kill a zebra and the lion failed epically.

@yeagemk Here in Frazier park CA, they have an African lion just like this one. 3 years ago i was deer hunting, i was about 500 yards away from this caged lion, and when he roared or what ever you call what it's doing here, it scared the freaking shit out of me!. I thought i was in Africa deer hunting man, could not make out the sound also. For a minute there, i thought it was a Sasquatch, until the near by rangers by the road told me it was a lion use for Hollywood movies. Scary roar man!!

About 10 years ago I met a young male lion named Joseph at a big cat rescue in Ohio. The place was shut down and the animals were moved...I wonder if this is the same lion I saw but now he's in a much better place? If it is his mane wasn't full when I saw him, it was just starting to come in. I got to give him a massage. It was kind of like rubbing a big, furry, smelly rock - his neck muscles were so hard. He must've liked it though, because he closed his eyes. :-)
