Please help me, I have a linguistic question.

Why is BALADY written بلدى and not بلدي ? I learnt the ya was used as "mine"... Can someone answer me? Thank you in advance!

It is the way you think it is written, but.. Like for handwriting and all that they dont put it, i personally dont know why but we are "supposed" to know what they mean. so you are right buddy.. the proper way of writting it is the way you think it is..with the "ya". Just like writting ya instead of yeah or ok instead of okay. I hope i helped.
