@kratosisgod12 They're pretty easy to care for. ( If saltwater can be easy). Just do lots and lots of research, so you don't spend a lot of money on something that dies due to poor husbandry. Join a Fish forum ( Like Reef Central). RC has it's very own mantis shrimp forum that you can get tons of info from.

Mantis Shrimps loves to eat crustaceans, and they would always ignore fishes and go for the crustacean. And that clown fish is just a scavenger that is taking advantage of the situation and trying to get a piece of the meal. But that does not mean that it won't be eaten by the shrimp later that day. These mantis shrimps easily gets hungry.

Actually there have been reports of large pistol shrimp being able to kill mantis shrimp. especially if the mantis is outside the cavity of the shrimp and there are multiple shrimp. in most cases a pistol shrimp will not actively hunt, but prefer to stay in its hole, and it is the mantis that comes to them, so this petty much renders the mantis' eyes useless. also the the pistol shrimp is the 3rd loudest animal in the world, the 1st of which being the sperm whale.

I think the outcome of a mantis shrimp vs pistol shrimp depends on who strikes first. I mean, the mantis is definitely faster and if it strikes first, can easily take out the shrimp in a second, but if the pistol shrimp "shot" it first then the pistol would win. I think the mantis would win though, they have the element suprise and attack viciously.

To get one all you need is an empty 10 gallon saltwater tank with6kg of rock

You can not keep a peacock mantis in a 10 gallon tank. A peacock mantis can grow up to 8" long so he will get within 2" of the width of the tank. That is way to small. For a peacock mantis you need 30 gal.

You can keep a purple spotted mantis, and a rock mantis in a 10 gal though.
