  • Subway is classic mcdonlads white castle dominos papa johns Wendy's and burger king there classics am I right

  • iv literally eaten it every day for years

  • today its all about hamburgers. fat people love those burgers. sandwichs r a thing of the past, and im sad cause i love those sandwichs. if subway is closed down...well...bye bye McDonalds. >:D

  • Pretty positive that's Ione Skye from Say Anything to the right of the conveyor belt

  • It was Eat Fresh in 1985 but then in the 90's its was The Way A Sandwich Should Be and now its Eat Fresh again.

  • I'm eating Subway right now. :D

Down with the clown! I'm NOT lovin' it!

  • Ma nigga's in dis shit, he's the guy not givin' a fuck.

  • You sure this is 85? Seems more like early 90s to me.

  • Back then the food was decent, and a sandwich was like $1.99, now that shit is fucking $5.00 for nothing. and more for anything other than shitty sandwiches. It all has no fucking flavor, bland shit.

  • @jpatrickbad Throw some banana peppers, jalapenios, and pepper jack cheese on that bitch

  • wait that girls hair is toucjing the food at 16 seconds

  • wtf i thought it was new i dont remember it until like 6 years ago :/

  • Recently subway just started another promotion but thanks to this commercial I have found that they only recycle promotions. Right now you can buy 2/footlongs for $9 which is a penny more then back in the 1980's

  • @dlm2404 Your fucking high, they weren't that much. Maybe like the super fucking premium ones like Pastrami, but all the rest were cheaper. In 1985 $9 was a lot of money. Dude, a lot of money. You could get like 3 or 4 sandwiches for that much. I remember the Veggie footlong with cheese and bacon was like $1.99. Your fucking smokin crack.

  • Does anybody have a copy of the 2006 commercial. I might like it for my portfolio...or not...:) Ha, I only saw it a couple times, sounds horrible though!

  • This commercial aired in the 1990s also.

  • My brother is in this commercial: The guy with the flat top leading the boogaloo wave.

  • Outstanding!

  • @melbancroft2 Your brother is an American hero!

  • I worked a t a Subway and I believe the ingredients to be bland and boring. I rather go buy my own ingredients. Onion deli rolls, Sharp cheddar cheese melted and thick roast beef with onions and a bit of rough ground mustard sounds good right about now. But subway doesn't even come close to those ingredients.

  • Thankyou for sharing that with us all

  • I wonder what were the price in the 80's

  • back in the 80's we at least pretended to be happy in comercials and all commercials had lyrics. Now they are doing surrealist commercials where peopel do exhibit emotion. That kind of marketing isnt going to make me want a subway sandwhich. I want to see happy smiling faces. THAT is what makes me want subway.

  • They've resurrected this commercial more than once; I remember it playing a lot in '99 as well.

  • haha...things were alot cheeper back then..lol

  • You know that Cosins subs was invented in Wisconsin!!!

  • why don't they do this for other commercials??

  • brilliant!

  • i don't know whether to laugh or cry

  • the two girl next to the conveyor scene is very weird

  • It's probably because her hair is touching the conveyor!

  • lol I remember seeing this commercial in the 90's and then seeing it again in 06 lol

  • Hahahahah good point buddy

  • The singer is so hot.

  • This is the best commercial ever!

  • i don't no sorry

  • BTW, WHO is that singer???

  • "Whore make-up"?? I thought that singer was so classy! I love the way she boots the chicken bucket off the stage and the pieces go flying.

I love Subway and I always liked that commercial because of the song and the two cute girls next to the conveyor belt. Other than that, I detest commercials in general.

  • I agree!

  • This reaired in 2006? Good thing I don't remember it.

  • Oh my God what a horrible commercial

  • ugh. the past is not appetizing.

  • 2 for 8.99! Now they 5 a peice

  • This is brilliant! I remember this commercial from when I was young! I ask alot of people about it and no one seems to remember it! Anyways good commercial, it's stuck with me all these years! Thanks for posting it!!!!!! And it's making me crave Subway right now! ;)

  • The mime wave! Holy crap! BTW I grew up in the Mpls area and can confirm both the original broadcast "era" and seeing it again - like a movie monster that won't stay thankfully dead...

  • And I thought this was a clever throwback to the 80s...I didn't think it was an actual commercial from 1985 resurrected with new copyrights and whatnot.

  • it used to be "subway my way"

  • I was looking for the trailer to the Luc Besson film, but now... I really want a Subway... *drool* :-p

  • Subway rules.

  • I like how they used the same ad from 1985 and modified it with 2006 titles and prices.

  • I'm currently having relations with a subway sandwich and loving every inch of it.

  • re: And no, that is not Parker Posey next to the conveyer belt--that is the word from her manager, according to a recent article in the St Paul Pioneer Press (see comments below).

I don't know who would think it's Parker Posey. It's Ione Skye from Say Anything

  • It's so hot when she kicks that bucket of chicken...

  • Clearly, the footage of the woman in stilettos, the "burger baby!" mohawk guy, and the girls at the conveyor belt were from 1985. The 2006 copyright date only appears on the clips of the food where the present-day Subway logo and pricing appears. Obviously, those took the place of the original food clips, which would now be outdated.

  • **Not the pricing, just the food and Subway logo. My bad.

  • I remember this ad from when I was in elementary school. "How bout a burger, baby!" was a huge catch phrase at my school in like 1989. And x7b: It's an 80s commercial that they're RE-AIRING in 2006, so they updated the prices, genius.

  • BumpyJohnson and x7b, as is clearly explained in the previous comments and the video description, this video originally aired in 1985 and was repurposed by a Minneapolis-St Paul area Subway franchise and is reairing in 2006, thus the 2006 copyright and the $8.99 special tacked on at the end of the commercial.

  • $8.99? That is a 2006 commercial genius.

  • How come it says copyright 2006 @ sec 9-13

  • afterglide thank you.

  • Wait, wasn't the slogan something different then? like..."Have it your way" or..."It's the way a sandwich should be" or am I just imagining?

  • oh, nevermind! lol

  • "Have it your way" is Burger King's slogan, and Subway didn't use "the way a sandwich should be" until 1996.

  • I enjoy seeing this! It's actually refreshing in an odd way.

  • this is a joke the commerical at the bottom of the screen says 2006 your a liarrrrrrrrrrr

  • Kianna777, it says 2006 because they are rebroadcasting it in 2006. The last segment on the commercial was tacked on by the local franchise. This commercial originally aired in 1985. See this article: http://www.twincities.com/mld/twincities/entertainment/14784627.htm

  • I actually just saw this on TV. On a station from Minneapolis.

    Fantastic!

  • WORST COMMERCIAL EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Man, if I could get two footlong subs at Subway for only $8.00, I'd JUMP at the chance!

  • It really bothers me that they removed the "I wanna savor every bite / I want a treat tonight" line in this most recent edit.

  • Someone else mentioned that part was missing, too. I'm sure the local franchise lopped it out so they could fit in their plug at the end.

  • It could very well be from the 80's. I do remember seeing it in the early 90's. Could have been on in the late 80's, too.
