I never knew you where a computer geek like me Graham. I just finished replacing 7 caps on a ASUS mother board and got back up and running. And like you I used higher voltage ones but the same micro farad
Hi Graham, I really don't know if u got my last detailed message or not, but its late and I'm I guess "stupidly tired" and unfortunately stuck in this f'n wheelchair grrrrrrrrrrrr! Have always been intrigued w/ electronics. Have plenty of Electrical experience b4 car wreck and would love to talk to u sometime if u had the time. Sorry to b so brief but my last msg got cut off unfortunately. Paul
@zhsy00001 graham got a diod mixed up with a cap a reading of .425 or more indicates a good diod or mosfet transistor caps are suposed to charge to its value
Nice video Graham. First of all, I love the way you flat out admit you were "just to lazy". No problem. Good things come to those who wait. I'll wait another 6 months. LOL!!!!
Thanks or that information. Cars are fun and all but I'm more on YouTube to expand my knowledge of different things. You seem very knowledgeable in your trade! Great video, hope to see more like it.
@biggdaddy2001 Not only did he use the word plethora, there was absolutely no mention of the current "Farm Fiasco" in an over 18 min vid. This officially makes Graham the smartest farm regular!
@thisisunreal1 omg ur right what a relife but did u notice graham left mid summer he wasn't there as much this year ya know stuff does get old if i took a trip to canada id oly stay maybe 1 or maybe 2 days at the most cause id like to visit others from you tube
cool vid, have no idea what your doing but i love watching you fix stuff. also, give us a vlog once in awhile, let us know your alive and well and still have your hair. after all you have fans to appease!
I heard something about how the cost of gas had tripled in the Davidsfarm region of Canada..I also heard that redneckrickem was now a major share holder in OPEC..coincidence or scandal?...YOU DECIDE!!...LMAO!!...Thanks for sharing.
About the broken DLink-device that you repaired: The ESR of crappy and/or failing caps is usually higher / too high. What was the brand of the old failed caps and your replacement caps? Were they listed as bad caps at the badcaps.net-forum? If I can see that correctly your replacement-caps are G-LUXON - not the best that is out there. I'd also duct-tape the "new" cap to the case.
Also nice to see a new video from you :) If you repair stuff often, videotape it and upload it here to Youtube :D
00:55 What kind of Inverter do you want to use to convert the DC from the solar-cells to AC? Self made or a bought one? Or does your fridge run with 12VDC?
I don't know what you already know about the different types of solar-panels and inverters and such, but I recommend that you'd inform yourself about those first. You should also build it the way that there is maximum output even when half of your solar-panels are under shade (or covered). Would be nice if you could do a video-tutorial :)
A buddy of mine did something similar to this to an LCD monitor I got free from work. One of the capacitors blew on it causing the monitor to die. He replaced it and it lasted a few more months before dying again for good.
I'm big into tech stuff as well, so I was very interested in this video. An interesting thing about switch-mode power supplies is that most don't normally develop full output voltage until they have a load on them. That's been my experience anyway.
D-Link is pretty good stuff. I used a little 4 port router for years with no problems at all. Only reason I don't use it now is because I went to a wireless system.
wow gram i woulda never thought u were so technical and stuff i thought u were just a driver at the farm part time...... good to see vids like these i like them keep up the good work!!!!
nice video. Now i know exacly how to change capacitors if i have to. But i have old russian solderning gun, which weights about 3kg, and have size of a hairdryer :D
thanks for the videos, good luck with cells.

do your false teeth hurt u? I see u have them out a lot (at the farm).
the beginning of the vid here they were in, at the end u could hear they were out.
anyways, its always capacitors or resistors that usually go, easy fix.
