@P2theinoy Aerith in the original (Japanese) version of the game. Noteworthy is that if you rearrange the letters, "I, Earth" can be spelled...a nod to her Cetra origin and eventual ties to the planet.

She was renamed Aeris for the western release of FFVII. Square did that sometimes; FFVI's Terra is another example...she was Tina in the original.

It's interesting that they reverted her name back to Aerith for this game, though.

Maybe her name means, "Guys crash through my church ceiling."

But people there are rumors that Tifa and Cloud are REALLY close (if you know what i mean) and Cloud does not die, He was about to, but then Aerith helped him wake up and using the life-stream, he healed those with the Stigma. Meanwhile Cloud acually LIVES with Tifa, indicating he has some if not a lot of interest in her.
