  • Once you reach the abode, you find your creator ( in the avatar you have worshipped) this is to say, lord Vishnu manifests himself as buddha, Jesus, Allah, and anyother form you have worshipped. For non believers, no god, but beautiful experience! Hindus are very liberal ideologies... There is a character in indian epic, mahabaratha called Shikandi- who was born as a girl, but raised as man and married a woman! LGBT are very old concepts in Hindu Religion!

  • 'being Hindu', means connecting to your Creator in your own ways! Lord Vishnu is considered the Kings of the Lords. So, no matter which god you worship, EOD, it all belongs to Lord Vishnu. This is exactly what Krishna says in BagvadGeetha 1000s of years before. So even if you're a Christian, Muslim or even Atheists. If you're sincere in your prayers , belief ( read not lecturing hate to people of different faiths) you will reach vaikuntam, adobe of Lord Vishnu.

  • i was there with my daughter like 2 years ago and now she wants to go there this summer she just enjoys learning about different coltures she really loves Indian movies she would watch theme day and nigh

  • Hey .. There r times when the temple is open to the public.. It's not open all day long as idols r worshiped as human figures.. They are cleaned clothed feed n they sleep too.. Yup.. Anyone is allowed at normal hours tats why their were no Hindus at the temple...as they know it's afternoon naptime for gods... Hindus do not believe in heathens or seek coverts .. Its pretty obvious u cannot take pics inside the temple... Just like Vatican but outside the temple ok...

  • u don't have any idea of Hinduism...We don't kill u if u enter the temple....

  • Oh God! The comments are rather funny. Here is an individual who is curious about a culture, allow a little leeway. No Hindu understands what Hinduism is about, even the courts cannot define it. It is fine for people to have notions, and the way to educate (if at all it is a priority) is not by the tone in many of these remarks "how can you not know this about us!" Appreciate it. It is a beautiful temple though.

  • Inside the temple people are worshipped murti's (statue's of gods), sang, and doing rituals.

  • This temple is located in 7N Route 59 Bartlett IL 60103

It is a Swaminarayan Mandir and anyone can go inside but photography is not alowed inside only outside.

  • and i thought it was closed. :( but it's most likely they won't let you take photos inside the templ unless you do it when they are not looking but it's with respect i believe.

  • Spring/Summer timings (DST): 9:00 am - 8:00 pm

    Fall/Winter timings: 9:00 am - 7:00 pm

  • This is beautiful. People in America should Call ahead and ask to visit Hindu Temples. Very often you will be welcomed.

  • wow this temple is absolutely beautiful. I'm just fascinated with Indian architecture.

  • @alpha7445 thank u alpha

  • temple is for worshipping, not feeding the staues.monks offers food/flowers/scents for staues of god!,it a beilef that greeting and thanking god for food, life, grace ,he gave us!

  • @va12io temples r 4 everything

worshipping, dancing(all our dance forms have temple origin), producing kids(our temple priest produced 2 kids from his WIFE ofcourse) in my hometown jalandhar..

temple is for everythng that human can do with a clean mind and without arrogance in mind..

god bless all mankind except MUSLIMS

  • @piratesofjalandhar

yeah, muslims are haters who like to blow stuff up...lol

  • If anyone wants to help, please do so........Check out this video.........HOME OF HOPE, BANGALORE, INDIA Thankyou!..

  • Hey, I went there too, and it was closed it was because there it was ready yet inside, I came back a month later and it was beautiful

  • I don't why u were not allowed in. The temple is open in specific time may be u were there in a wrong time and the other thing is u r not allowed to wear shoes inside. Other than that u shud be allowed inside. If u think it is an idol it is an idol/stone but if u think it is God then it is really God there. If u are really in front of God how wud u treat God. So that is why it is bathed, offered food. It is for our mind to really perceive it as God. Hope this helps.

  • where is this temple located

  • london :)

  • is it really??? looks lie chicago...

  • Thanks, the video is brilliant, but just to clarify, we do not consider God to be human, we consider the human form to be made in Gods image "search4 Krishna", but hisform is entirely spiritual, not chemicals like a human form. A human being is not God and neither is God a human, only the form is similar. Inside the human form is a spiritual soul, which animates the body, we are individual souls and of the same quality as Gods body, but minute, without His immense creativity/quantity/power e.g.

  • Thank you for your clarification

  • @devarsi Lots of confusion ! go to the youtube channel HinduAcademy , there are lot of interesting video by Jay Lakhani to learn ,explore !

  • Hi... I don't know if someone has already commented on this .... but just to clarify .... A temple is the dwelling place of God ... and hence since the Hindu's consider god to be a human too.... this place is supposedly his/her home. Since the God is projected in the form of a statue, it is offered water which is liking bathing the statue, and then it is dressed, flowers are offered as they spread fragrance.

  • Thank you for clarifying it for us. That was very helpful

  • the best temple i have ever seen!where is it?

  • This is the Swaminarayan Mandir in Atlanta, Georgia.

  • no...i'm pretty sure this is not the atlanta mandir....it looks like the chicago mandir...i have been there....besides atlanta mandir is the largest hindu temple outside of india....soon that record is going to be broken again for the fourth time by BAPS...

  • aaaah yes anceint indian architecture ,most beutiful buidings of all the world and we got a peace of it in the united states

  • simply.... AMAZING

  • ...individual enlightenment is a blasphemy in islam thats why you will always act as dumb parrots and will always remain like this as you were in 7th century..because doubting and thinking is banned in islam..lol

  • every one knows what Muslims are made up of...lol..you don't even think or doubt..because for you doubting = death and hell..

ur allah is separate from the universe..but our brahman is not separate from it..in fact everything that exists is brahman..so whether it is disgusting form of reality or whether it is appreciable form of reality it is brahman..

but do you even know what philosophy is ..lol..you are just a parrot mimicking the arab culture

  • you forgot to mention that the Brahman effulgence emanates from Sri Krishnas Personal Form. Brahman realization is only the half of it.

  • where is this?

  • Somewhere in Illinois. Maybe Geneva?

  • @jellomnkey do u dont understand english ? the guy started with , "is this your first time in Delhi" , this is the Akshardham Temple in Delhi

  • @akhilbajaj81. Dude chill down, this is BAPS Swaminarayan Temple, at Bartlett, IL. Just west of Chicago, near by suburbs are Geneva, St.Charles. I visited this place many times and live nearby.

  • You could not enter probably because at that time it was closed. Each temple has opening hours. Very few temples are open 24x7. OR probably temple is yet to be officially inaugurated. Otherwise with exception of few very old temples all temples are open to other religions too. Remember to take off shoes at the entrance like everyone else.

  • A statue inside the temple is personification of the infinite Supreme Being. A Hindu temple is symbolic of the body and the deity worshiped is symbolic of the soul within the body i.e. the soul is eternal and a divine spark of the Supreme Being. The body is temporary.

  • so sad that u couldn't enter the temple.. but even if u enter into the temple u cant take pictures or video the holy statues... thats a common rule in Hindu temples..

  • Swaminarayan Mandir Toronto,It is already a source of tremendous pride for Canada's Hindu community. After more than a year's worth of construction, Prime Minister Stephen Harper helped open a $40 million holy temple Saturday, the BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Mandir in Toronto.

  • the Swaminarayans have contributed so much to THEIR religion in the name of hinduism. Although they are classified as hindu's much of their philosophy is very different to standard hindu philosophy. what they do have is alot of money. This helps them build bueatiful temples that are amazing. What would be great is if they could spend this money on helping to restore traditional temples in india where HINDUISM Began. After all swaminarayanism came from hinduism

  • the philosophy of the swaminarayan sect is take from the Vedas....wihich are as old as hinduism itself....swaminarayanism which is BAPS swaminarayanism is the closest you will get to vedic hinsuism....

  • That is right, which means it come from vedism...however i wouldn't classify it as hinduism. so much of your philosophy is different to hinduism, your interpetation of the vedas is different in many ways too. hinduism believe in 10 main avatars and bhagwan swaminarayan isn't mentioned in them. the swaminarayan religion is beautiful just like all other religions...however i woudnt clasify it as hinduism

  • haha ok .....of course it is hinduism...all the major hindu Sects recognize BAPS has hindu...why not you? i mean give me a reason why it is not hinduism....bhagwan swaminarayan is mentioned in the vedas as parabrahm...he is not listed in the 10 avatars because he is parabrahm himself....the avatars in hinduism are avatars of the eternal entity ishwar which is five entities below parabrahm....so it would hence be illogical to put bhagwan swaminarayan as one of the 10 avatars of ishwar.....

  • bhagwan swaminaryan maybe recognised as brahm to you and the followers of that sect...i guess its a sect but the religion has so many different philosophical views and some things are followed to the extreme. Women are treated differently...i swear all your bhajans are sung by men too ?

  • not bhram my friend parabrahm...hinduism does indeed has many different philosophical views...but the BAPS swaminarayan sect's philosophy is taken from the vedas.....the bhajans are not sung by men but by celibate monks who follow the 8 fold path....and there are bhajans sung by women too....

  • Hindus liken God to themselves, hence they bathe and imaginatively feed the God. It means, the God has accepted the food and the worshippers later share the food believing that it is also likened by the God...Apart from that, I would also wish your mom understand more about the hinduism and look for the positives of that great religion. I dont meant to say that Hinduism is perfect but just that it has lots of good things to offer to the well being of Mankind...Thanks for posting this video...

  • FYI, ppl in this world irrespective of their religion goto places of worship. In Hindus, they visit temples to pray to the god (there are many gods, each for different purpose).

  • Prolly the temple wasnt open at the time, or else their would of been alot of ppl there to visit. anyone of any faith can enter hindu temples. and yes they do bathe and feed the statues, its a devotional thing.

  • someonez jealous .. culture n tradition amazes some beings .

  • You can't enter through the front entrance as the steps are marble and its dangerous. The same movement have a Temple here just like this one and they have the same rule. You can get into the Temple via the hall entrance, but you cannot film inside.

  • what was wrong?why didn't they let you in?

  • thank you for the information. this will help everyone

  • It resembles indian heritage / Hindu culture over 5000 years old! The construction was done without steel, without wood, without cement. it is all locked by a stone to a stone carved in india and shipped to the usa. This is in Chicago.

yahoo search ....(chicago baps swaminarayan mandir)

  • Probably temple was not opened to public Yet

  • v01:15-01:57happy,world,marvelous,indiancultureinamerica,temple

  • Religion, tradition and culture in India- undertsand it first, they dont bath and feed statues

  • fair enough

  • Next time go inside..they should let u

  • Wait, until they see the askhardam Temple in NEW DELHI... Well, the temple in video is newely built in UK... Temples usually are not opened during afternoon, because priests who wake up before the sun rise have to rest during afternoon. Prayers are held during Morning, and evening.. As to what they do with status, well, they are not fed.. it is merely a gesture. I wish they could get a help from in and around the temple.

  • no this one is in illinois but they have one in the uk also which looks similar

  • why werent u aloud to go inside?

  • WOW - where is this?

  • right by my house again

  • they don't feed the statues, go inside and find out
