actually the original one got unanimously better reviews than Max Payne 2. While Max Payne 2 looks better and has better physics, Max Payne 1 beats it in all other aspects. The gun sounds suck as in mp2 comparing to mp1, the storyline is complete garbige in mp2. Everything really, from little sound fx to soundtracks, level designs and gameplay

And in Mp2 you feel like an ordinary cop. The setting is very typical unlike Mp1.
