I have three versions of this movie, 1984, 1993, and 2004. All of them have the alternative versions of the dance song. There is one more version I haven't seen. It must be rare if it has the original soundtrack.
Thank you for posting this! I received the DVD for Christmas and - waiting for my favorite disco dance scene - found out they had replaced "I Love the Nightlife" with some lame disco song. For those who have not seen it before, could be okay. But for me, the DVD is worthless without the right song! Thanks again! :-D
@SummerRain368 I feel the same, bought the DVD and was expecting this song but the song they replaced it with doesn't have the same tempo as the original and just make the whole dance scene seem off. >.<
I've heard this many times before but just recently on a late show George Hamilton said that he's gonna make a "Love At First Bite 2'.......I'm for it and against it. You just can't beat the original. :o)
I agree. This song really made the whole movie. I've loved this movie since it came out. Love George Hamilton. No wonder I have a vampire admiration. LOL. (Twilight all makes sence now)
Thank you joesch1955 ..... I love this clip , George Hamilton and Susan Saint James do this so well ...... Love at first bite , still a cool movie after all this time.
i love this movie, this is one of the best scenes...i have a copy of the film at home but for some reason the music to this scene is different?! i was sooo disappointed when i realised, so thanks for posting this :)
It's Dracula! Doing a romantic waltz! To a '70s disco song! And it's called "I Love the Night Life"! Get it?!? Oh my god, that was hilarious when I saw it as a kid.
Actually, it still is pretty awesome. Thanks for posting!
I have researched the song replacement thing further. The VHS has the correct song (I love the nightlife). When it was transposed to DVD, some years later, the song was replaced with the crap version. My guess is that it was a royalties issue.
Thank you so much for uploading this! I have the DVD version and the song they use is horrible--this song makes the movie! I'm going to try and dub the right song onto my DVD version and have the best video with the right song!
in the original movie really turned what was just a 'good comedy' into a memorable classic! I downloaded a copy from Isohunt recently and to my disappointment they had put that crap overdub. I thought it may have been the uploader that did it. Reading these comments I realise that it was done at some other time.
The orginal song in "Love At First Bite" was I love The Nightlife. However, for some reason along the way, it was changed to "The Man that I Love is Him.".......I have the movie and I have it taped off TV......but it's only on the TV version w/ the incorrect song. I know that it's the wrong song since I saw "Love At First Bite" at the drive-in in 1979. I love this movie and I have ever since I were 9 years old.
this movie with george hamilton and susan saint james in it dancing to i love the nightlife is fanastic!i have this on dvd but the song does not play in the movie i have which in the first place when the dvd was release that song should of been on there!debra
I have always wondered why they replaced the song. When I saw this in the drive in when I was 9, they played "I Love The NightLife"...Now, it's "The Man that I Love" or something. Yes, I got used to the other song......but nothing beats the real deal. I taped Love AT First Bite off TV and they played it w/ "I Love The NightLife" so I have both copies. I LOVE THIS MOVIE!!!!
ooohhh!! I LOVe this movie! My dad has this recorded somewhere; due to the changes inacted, now I shan't bother looking for this on DVD and just burn it myself.
Awesome post, I fell in love with Susan Saint James during this scene at the tender age of 5. Awesome song, damn shame they changed it for the dvd, what a ridiculous idea on someones part.
Not sure If I replied already? Anyway My Father in law has hundreds of movies on VHS that he taped off Broadcast TV. I'm not sure when this was originally broadcast (with the correct song!), but I was glad he had taped it.

Does anyone know if the hypnotism scene in the restaurant is posted? ("no, you are" - "no, you are.") I haven't been able to find it anywhere.

Yeah, they changed the music when they re-released it. Something to do with licensing. I agree, it's a pain in the...neck.

It's pretty pathetic that after Frank Langella, Gary Oldman and Marc Warren, that George Hamilton is stil the best Dracula.

I'm not sure. This version was taped off Broadcast TV by my Father in law. I'm not sure when he taped it.
joesch1955 3 years ago
@puppetmaster612 No, the VHS copy had the "new" song.
I am not sure if they secured the rights for the DVD version, but AMC use to show it with this song.
