  • I do Jidokwan TKD. My question is why do so many TKD fighters today keep their hand down it leaves their head wide open.

TKD incorporates several hand techniques as well as kicking, it just seems very dangerous to me to leave your head completely exposed.

  • Am I the only person that knows this is a copy

  • what people have to realize is that most people do tkd for fun, not for self defense. However, a high degree black belt in any martial art could beat the shit out of some dumb ass street fighter

  • I go to Tae Kwon Do and I have never seen anything like that yet!

  • FATALITY!

  • fifaplayer10 tae kwon do was developed by the south Korean military, so it is a fighting style, and it emphasises kicking and speed so that would explain why they don't have their hands up.

  • He must be a Dan Master, definitly. I trained Taewkondo too. U must train a very long for such fast and exacly movements Nice Video, thumbs up!

  • OMG...

  • I training taekwon do That kid is professional :D

  • FALCON KICK!

  • looks like zato1 chi got knocked out as well .... hahahahahahahahahaha

" you got knockt - out"

  • that was juicy!!

  • why are all these ppl complaining about WTF tkd fighters not keeping their hands up? WTF tkd is a sport. not actual fighting. It's a game and the point of the game is too score more points then your opponent. And how do you score points in WTF? you kick the other person. Keeping your hands down allows you to kick faster and block the kicks. You dont block the head kicks. You move out of the way.

  • w00h0000000 !

  • Hay gay.......

  • Fuck i can do that!!!

  • *facepalm* you never use the quick-step round kick to start off a point-spar match.

  • oh shit!!!

  • Hands up ffs -.- eitherwise it wouldn't been a KO

  • i heard his neck breaking

  • lol, backick is the strongest kick in taekwondo, and deals one hell of a punch, at the start of the match you simply don't expect that attack, despite what it says in the description this kid probably wasn't "outclassed," he just took it early, a kick to the head that hard will more often than not disconnect your body and brain.

  • @Penguinmenace sorry but from the very start off this fight i could tell he was preping for a back spin kick his stance said it all

  • BEAST

  • the bad thing about keeping the hands up is your more open . unlike boxing taekwodo keeps there hands in the middle not all the way down and mostly work on consent movement its awesome tho . but yeah hands up would leave u to many opening for an attack .

  • Terrific

  • Rofl.

  • Back kick ownage ... my best kick ! :)

  • Pop back kick, vicious.

  • You just got knocked the F@CK out.

  • I am friends with the winner.

  • @smallheroes2 Congratulations

  • eu quero fazer tkd !

  • neil lol

  • Yeah, i see so many people in tkd not keeping hands up. it is obvious coming from shorin ryu.

  • I'm actually addicted to Tae kwon do .. ;) from a little child

  • @MarloBomfunk lol same here

  • whats the kids name that knocked the other kid out

  • Very Nice... ;)

  • pięknie!

  • Awesome!

  • ouch!

  • BEAUTY! No wonder he shook hands first, so the guy could wake up and go "Nah, he was nice, we shook hands and everything, he wasn't TRYING to take my head off!"

  • I can watch this all day. My friend David knocked the shit out of him.

  • Muy Buena !! patadaa !! AHah !! tE PARECE aMI..

  • dammmnnn good kick!!! and also speed xD

  • all i can think to say in this situation is....

    BOOM HEADSHOT

  • mooooooo .. bellissimo , davvero un bellissimo calcio

  • he has to keep his hands up at all times. plus he took the bait

  • You gotta be fast in these situations the kid in blue just isn't fast enough or wasnt fast enough

  • ya they keep their hands down in these fights because its pointless to block at kick that will break your arm. Its about kicking first here or loosing, going back to the age of Samurai, you each swing is life or death, I dont do this style but I like the idea behind it.

  • I have to disagree. While your argument about the Samurai is perfectly valid, in a situation like this I believe I would rather have a broken arm than a broken face...but then again, there are two major styles of Taekwondo and this one focuses on TKD as a sport, whereas the traditional focuses on it being a self-defense art. I practice the traditional style, and I've been in a situation similar to this one and was able to block it successfully since my hands were up and ready to counteract.

  • @senseitedderz, their arms are down because body shots are more points than headshots in point tkd, so they're trying to not lose by points.

on the topic of samurai, that is japan.

    tkd is korean.

samurai did not do tkd lol, if you tried a kick like that in samurai armor you'd fall on your ass and get stabbed in the face while you were down.

  • Thats true I forgot about that.

  • Koreans had no horses, Japanese did. Aerial kicks were for unhorsing people. I bet the tough soldiers in those days could dish out powerful kicks that could be felt through armor, knock a person over, or stun somebody through the shield they are holding up. Yes.. the right tool for the right job, that's called wisdom.

If a headshot is good enough to be worth points it will be a KO most likely from a kick, in tournament style TKD.

  • dude you didn't flying kick to take someone off of a horse...that's the most ridiculous shit i've ever heard. you just use a naginata...

  • stop trying to talk like you know everythin about taekwondo. Head shots are more points than body obviously because its a smaller target

  • LOL samurai didn't wear armors..at least most of them not all only at war situation or shit like that , now if a guy ran up to a samurai and kicked him he could be down lol anyways nice topic.

  • @MarloBomfunk I don't think you could defeat a samurai with a kick.

  • its obvious to me that the ppl on here loosing there temper didnt take marital arts especially TKD or they would have self control and know how to debate or have a conversation! Anyone can beat anyone. theres alot involved in fighting but n my opinion its about split sec decisions and who makes the most wise one! just because someone looses doesnt mean they couldnt have beat the person they faught! Hince: Frank Mir vs Brock lesnar! Frank is more skilled but lost!

  • Agreed

  • If you 5 ft tall and you weigh 50kg and the guy you fight is 7ft tall and weighs 100kg...

Theres more chance hes gonna win dont you think?

He can just grab you then eat you.

  • damn these kids need to keep their hands up

  • are u stupid? don't be ignorant just

because u don't know a thing about tkd.

in other martial arts, u raise ur arm to

create a guard, because there are lots of

punches. In tkd, punches are rare. most

of the kicks score points from side kicks.

if they had their arms up they would lose

    all their scores.

  • @AllstarHunE, if the guy in the blue had his hands up, he wouldn't of had been smoked, simple as that, don't make a big deal of it kid

  • AllStar thats why you move your hand downwards to block a kick?

    Not that hard

  • @ allstarhune, in that case it is you who is the idiot for training in an unrealistic style that would get you knocked out in the street in a half a second.

    lol @ you.

  • @NedYahNRonnoc i hate to admit but ur right on that one...

  • @NedYahNRonnoc they dont use hands in tae kwon do idiot

  • @fixedtrix1 and with what kind of martial arts experience are you saying that? From my 5 years with the ATA I at least learned how to block, dodge and counter, not rocket science trash talker.

  • @fixedtrix1

Just because they don't punch in competition doesn't mean they can't protect their damn faces with their hands and arms.

  • pobre tipo ajajajjaja

  • CIÓMO VUELAN LOS MONDOLIOS NAPKO CHACKY. SAWNY, KIONYE. bUENOS DÍAS DESDE ESPAÑA

  • keep your hands up brother its a good thing ur doing taekwondo not mma

  • oooo shit he used his head to block!

  • thats wut u get for not having ur hand up and being lazy

  • I don't think you're allowed to block

  • you are but tkd kicks are really powerful so no point blocking when u can move out of the way. remember that sport taekwondo is meant for u to get in get the point then get out not like kickboxing were u try and beat the shit out of your opponent

  • omg poor kid ive had that happen before took my helmet clean off heck of a headache

  • if you keep your hands up this wont happen!

  • dude its taekwondo... they aren't worried about the hands...

and this type of taewondo doesnt deal with hands...

    otherwise yeah it would help

  • Yeah it would, TKD is build on speed, and actually most fighs only have 2 or 3 head kicks, most is to the body, i guess the only reason why he got KO´ed is because he is a rookie and the guy in red is taking full advandes of it

  • kick box is based on speed boxing is based on speed kung fu.. oh wait every fighting art is based on speed... not that I know much about tkd but from what I see it would be pretty uneffective in a street fight (my opinion)

  • umm I kinda agree but some off it is quite good in a "Street fight" I have practised boxing and Tae Kwon Do im only sixteen and both of them used are really helpfull in a street fight a 22 year old guy started on me and i didnt get hurt except for the punch he threw. and im only 16 :) so i agree to an extent :)

  • its not the age its the skill :P

  • so true

  • the experience of the fighter is the one that matter on the ring and on the street...or any where...every punch no matter the style hurts and every kick no matter the style hurts...is not how you hit is WHEN you hit....so that means is not how you fight is WHEN you fight...every one can beat every one but how is not what matter but when...and sometimes why you beat that person is important too XD

  • thats the dumbest thing ive ever red. I mean "when"? lol its not important only when its how its how fast its how strong...

  • right then try hitting him when he is way more stronger and faster than you or way more experience

  • theres no need to hit anyone who is stronger than you lol.. like I said its a matter of skills if you are more skilled and smart you will win the fight if not - you lose

  • oh oh i get it now so you just have to hit hard and fast until you win and there is not need to fight some one more skillful than you...and that is easier said than done...

  • sorry for telling you this but you are extremely stupid. Street fight ends up quick, its you or him sparing fights are all about thinking being fast and smart, yes when you hit is important, u hit when he is open and u hit fast and strong get it now?

  • yeah i get it now...do all martial arts teach that? hit your opponent when its open...or just a few

  • no u faggot u cant be jus strong and fast u gota have timing bich slut cunt

  • ur moms a bitch! I was talking to the guy bellow who said you should wait for the day that your opponent is weak ROFL dont talk if you dont know BIATCH!

  • es un furio chagui

  • ami me dieron una pata asi cai pero em levante como a los 2 segundo sjajaja xD! y fue contra un señor peleando en el dojan y esoq qera cinta blanca y el señor r verde

  • BEAUTIFUL!!

  • nice XD

  • nice speed on the kick, but I'm suprised it was a KO, he connected with the ball of his foot, ideal contact on this kick is with the heel, but still...daaaamn!

  • what's that kicks name guys ?

  • that would be a Jumping Reverse Hook-Kick

  • it is a revrese trun kick...but would have been a spinning hook kick...

  • ahh is that what we call..Bada Toyom Chaki ?????? :D !?

  • Spinning back kick.

  • ??? anyways friend i don't know why you said this and mentioned my name but for me .. i love tae kwon do , i just learn tae kwon do because i like it more than some other things actually and i learn how to protect my self..these days you need to know how to fight , but if someone comes up and pushes you around for no reason it's ok not to fight , if he injures you like punching you in the face ( like nose spot ) then you attack him but not in the head with kicks lol !

  • k buena patada y blokeo a la vez

    tiene algun nombre esta patada¿?

  • Falcon Kick

  • Dude.... :| that was fast...

apparently i still have a lot to learn if i want to become that fast...

though i have to admit, i don't think ill ever be that good.

i have to rely on the fact that i can kick really hard.

i always keep it down because im afraid i might really injure some one very bad.

my techer says that if i give it my full strenght, i might actually kill some one....

  • who asked?

  • Everyone always talks shit about what *they* would have done.. You wouldn't have done shit. You will never be in that situation because you'll still be on your ass watching Youtube commenting other people's accomplishments.

  • The guy in blue has no style and he really wasn't paying attention, It was so obvious what red was going to do.

  • ok ive done tkd for about 7 years and only 16 and that kick was fast but u could see it a mile away his back leg was edgeing to the way he was going to spin and kick so he not that great but it was still a good KO i would of draw that kick then when he missed i would of kick straight to his head lol. i want to get some of my KOs and TKOs on youtbue but i alwas overseas and forget to take vido recorder lol

ps sorry for spelling mistakes english not my strong point lol

  • I have no clue about this stuff but wanna start doing it , is it mega hard????

  • its not hard it just takes time... I got my black belt in 2 years.

  • really? you must not have the skill of a true black belt because ive been in tkd for 3 years and i just got first red

  • do it for years jsut to knock someone the fuck out aye lol

  • the guy in red is a noob. he has no style. he was showing the back hook kick. the guy in blue is a noob. because you he didnt see him showing the back hook kick.

  • i heard a crack

  • omg i just did the exact same thing to get gold at nationals like 3 days ago

  • Hey! congratulations!:D Do you have black belt?

  • umm not quite lol i dont do too much grading work only the stuff we do leading up to the gradings every term i focus more on sparring and just working on boxing/kickboxing combos:D

  • Both the guys should keep their hands up to protect theirselves. I got almost to 2nd degree blackbelt and sparred in a couple when I was a blackbelt, 7 tournaments altogether, and I never got knocked down in a match. I know hoe to box and kept my hands up. If you get in close they can't land them kicks either without some distance.

  • drop and reverse hook kick up, on your way in... or my personal favorite twist kick right up in your chin, i love to punch when i spar too but my instructor owns me everytime with the reverse hook and i nail people with my twist kick

P.S. for noobs, twist kick is when you do the opposite of a round kick, so you bring your leg up and in instead of out an around

  • So it"s more efective to make a big round kick but less beatiful.

  • A big 360° round kick is more powerful but very slow which makes it less effective in taekwondo.

With the reverse hook kick, the spinning must come from the hip, not the leg. The leg goes straight to the head like this video demonstrates.

    Very nice video.

  • Ok I understand.

  • some people need to learn feinting i use when im sparing and its sets u up for a realy good kick

  • u dont see UFC guys in TKD too ... its just 2 different things u cant blame the one martial art to be weak its just an other rules set.

  • 2 things filth

one if u tink tkd an korean style are so weak then do me a favor get sparring gear

an sparr one an when they kick u in ur jaw so hard that it knocks u out then u tell me how weak it is an two where do u think mma came from ask ur self that >_>

  • wow, its a sport!!! You could easily tell he was going to counter as he was firmly planted just waiting for the other guy.

Also, people keep hands down to easily protect the hogu (chest protector) where the points are usually scored (one point). Head shots which are fewer inbetween as they lead to being easily countered and also have to be well timed. They are worth 2 points.

The guy should of faked, made him do his back kick and then double roundhouse his ass! (but still nice kick)

  • ur right about him being flat footed instead of on his toes but in the ring when ur actually fightin it's alot harder to notice those small details unless ur concentrating on their feet

  • ooo NICE :D:D

  • you fail and i kick ur ass

  • Filthy:

    You make me yawn.

  • Haha what a loser.

  • oooooooooooo this so great!!!

  • then show me what you got !

go to the next dojo an ask the dojo master if he makes a battle with you fucker !

They are fighting this way to get points not to take them down ! in ITF taekwondo they fight without amor and if you see the korean national demonstration team you see how you fight with TKD on the street !

  • ouch

  • Tae Kwon Do people never put their hands up.

  • very quick and effective. However i think that it's impossible to apply with short distance (the disco is an exemple). in that case karate or boxe are the best choice. And if you go to the ground with your opponent the brazilian jujitsu rules:-))

  • nice kik

    awch

  • That's what you get when you fight with your hands at your belt. Great kick.

  • LOOK MA --- NO HANDS ---HRMPH (KO)

  • no thts jst means ur stupid and insecure with no talent. i always fight with my hands down and i usually nvr get my freakin butt kicked.

  • You're an idiot. I won the state championship for Kentucky last year. I fight with my hands up. The opposite of what you said is true. You can never fully anticipate every move your opponent will make. Keeping your guard up gives you a slight bit of security with that, much more than hands at your waist.

  • BRAVO BRAVO

    fuckin nice hit

  • Beautiful!!!!

  • That back hook was awesome. Nice counter ;)

  • Are you suppose to have your hands down or can you hold them up to your head like I was taught?

  • I call it a sorry ass sport when fighters have no guard. But that is what they teach in Take Ones Dough...you always protect your head

  • retard sry xD This side of TKD is "sport" TKD is a martial art where you learn self defence.

  • well first of all why troll TKD videos for?

Also this is just sport tkd, playing by the rules of the sport where lots of people use a low guard.

TKD as self defence and a martial art is different.

  • not really..

its designed to illuminate a threat with as small amount of punches/kicks needed. perfect for self defence.

especially just the regular spinkick to solar plexus works wonders,...

  • actually frm expeirence u hve b on guard all the tme or ur gonna get ur butt kicked from the earth to the moon!!!! we always stay on guard unless we r either hurt, sick, stupid, or uncaring.

  • wow did u see his head snap back even in slow motion? O.O

  • lol kid in red was just waiting

  • hands up might help alooottt

  • hands down in tkd sparring is actually standard, keeping your hands down is called a trap which gives the opponent the false idea that you're vulnerable, most attacks are to the midsection, besides that was a perfect counter and very difficult to block

  • wth that kick owns :D where can i learn this? :D:D

  • Your living room.

  • in the netherlands in limburg

  • jumping back kick, it's a basic kick you learn in tkd class

  • its called tit chagui

  • Very well aimed back kick by the red, solid knock out =]

  • WORKS EVERYTIME. my fav. counter.

  • pff,

  • Comment removed

  • AJJAAJAJAJAJAA

  • why dont they put up there hands to block it? instead of hoppin on there feet wit there hands down?

  • The idea behind the low guard is to block kicks whilst they are still low, i.e. before they have any real power behind them. Saying that, i can't say i've ever seen it actually work... Taekwon do, as said below, and on pretty much any martial arts video on youtube, really isnt practical in a streetfight or outside of the TKD "ring"- but its got to be one of the most beautiful martial arts to watch

  • perhaps wtf tkd, I think Itf tkd is a little more street savvy

  • aw i that sux if u cant use it to defend urself doesnt it?

  • omfg 5/5 knock out!

  • r u sure that this is the whole video because u started out sitting on the spinning hook kick

  • That was impressive!

  • wow very nice =O

  • super fast

  • way too pwn a side kick right there

  • Hollly shitttt boy that was brilliant
