The grip makes the actual shot go farther without spreading as much.

If I'm not mistaken, the grip only reduces recoil when aimed down the sight. However, aiming down the sight actually increases the spread, which is bad. But, I may not know what I'm talking about, and if you believed me, you'de be accepting second hand information that I myself got off the internet, so take that with a grain of salt.

@propencil no.. a shotgun's bullets spread when it fires. Grip makes the bullets stay closer together, which basically means the gun can shoot farther.
