  • What a shitty trailer

  • When I read Needful Things for the first time, I thought how perfect Max Von Syndow would be for the part of Gaunt. Then I look it up and find out he IS Gaunt in the movie!

  • Damn it i shouldn't have watched this when I'm not done with the book

  • The book was amazing, it was so crazy.

  • Im sorry, but as much of a masterpiece the novel was (it WAS phenomenal) I felt the movie really did it a huge disservice. They were way to obvious about Leland Gaunt and the Satanic undertones and it was just a letdown :/

  • I am so close to the end of the book and this trailer almost ruined the end for me haha

  • if u like the movie u will love the book

  • boooooooooooooooring -.-

  • the song ruined the trailer....

  • Stephen King is seriously one of the best authors of all time.

  • Best Steven King novel and movie.

  • Is this anything like the book?

  • @Pizzopizzaz

Not the ending, but still pretty much yeah.....

  • dolores claiborne is much better, but still a great 90s movie.

  • This might sound wrong but whenever I see Bonnie Bedelia in this or die hard, i feel like getting on my knees and sucking her toes. :-< I'm just a bad bad person.

  • This is not a good movie... Anyone who read the book could agree with me. The plot is changed too much and I think before watching this you should read the books first, then you will be able to judge if this movie is worth watching.

  • I am reading the book right now and I'm thinking "how can someone even try to put all this into a film"

Once I finish the book I will check the film out to see how they managed lol

  • @luvleeds im reading the book now also...im a little iffy about the movie tho...i recently finished reading desperation and it was amazing but when i saw the movie it was just upsetting....im still gonna watch this one tho

  • @SERGEda3RD Yea I'm just about done reading, the last section is fantastic! But I know the film will probably not compare but I'm gona give it a watch anyway lol

  • @luvleeds I just finished reading the book the other day, and I don't understand how anyone could possibly make a film as good as the book is. But I'm going to watch it anyway. :)

  • Ha do they include in the movie the part from the book where Gaunt tells one of his customers to give him a blow job and then decides against it because "oral sex gives him amnesia."

  • the tv ads used to scare me when i was a child

  • What's the music in the first two ads?

  • @dnasty312 "In the Hall of The Mountain King"

  • The book is way better....

  • I know a great deal about the past.

  • The voiceover in these things is way to light and happy or the subject matter, makes it seem like the movie is tongue-in-cheek. I watched the movie time and again, the long version, but I wish they had included all the book's subplots, and the fact that it was an actual suicide, not attempted. Dark story.

  • not how i pictured guant

they should stop making movies off of books and come up with some originals for ideas

  • @daspoon456 I pictured him as a super tall man, super skinny and lanky, balding, horrible looking teeth, and very old and wrinkled.

  • Max von Sydow was so chilling as Mr. Gaunt. He reminded me of Vincent Price.

  • i love this film ^,..,^

  • I read the book and then saw the film. The book is far better than the film.

I was disappointed by the film. :(

  • The book is, by all means, a masterpiece.

Films can rarely, if ever, live up to the books they're based on. Thusly...

  • That's because the book is so long, and descriptive as is all of King's works.

A two hour film cannot even come close to doing a King book justice, especially one such as Needful Things.

  • I absolutely love this movie, I used to watch it time and time again when I was at high school. I would kill to see this so-called 3 hour version. I noticed two clips I had not scene before. Please release a special edition of this movie!!!

  • I have the 3 hour version somewhere on a vhs tape. I taped it off of TBS a couple years ago.

  • Oh wow, how different is it to the standard version? Does it explain a bit about that lady who wears the Elvis shades? I think her name is Cora, although I can't remember. Thanks! :)

  • what's different about it?

  • @Warwolf2008 Oh? What was in that version that was left out of the original? I was so let down they did not show the Elvis rivalry between Myra Evans and Cora Rusk! There was one tiny cameo with Cora wearing the King's sunglasses if I remember correctly T_T

  • @shitcasecinema In all honesty you are not missing much. I have it on a dvd, got it from Asylum Of Oblivion. There is an hour extra and it is cool but it is nowhere near as good as the normal release.

  • what is the song during the two trailers?

  • Dovre Gubbens Hall - Edvard Grieg.

    (Hall of the mountain king)

  • i prefer reading before watching

  • I didn't picture Mr. Gaunt like that though...

  • me too.

  • The first two trailers are the best.

To be honest, I didn't like the book very much at all - but I loved the film!

  • Hey whats the name of the song playing in this commercial

  • In the Hall of the Mountain King,

    Composer Edvard Grieg

  • dont waste our time with the movie its a rip of to the book wich was awesome!

  • Mmm... It was BASED on the book. Learn that concept.

  • max von sydow's a very good actor

  • what does leland gaunt say at 0:52?

  • Castlerock is one messed up town. Cujo and the dead zone also take place there. I guess its better than Dairi where IT and Insomnia take place.

  • but i like the little unsuspecting town of derry.. its got such a hometown feeling that everyone can sumhow relate to.

  • I know what book I'm buying next. :)

  • Gaunt is such a badass. I love him, he is one of my favorite villians.

  • Definitely one of my favorite books. The movie wasn't that bad either, though I think it could've been better. The use of "Hall of the Mountain King" when Nettie was pranking Keeton was awesome, though. Everytime I listen to the music, I think of that part. XD

That last trailer had music from "Bram Stoker's DRACULA". Interesting. Made it sound scarier than the other trailers. I like the funny ones, though. ^^

  • Nice little story , well put together film with good performances from all , if your a king fan it definitely is a needful thing to have in your collection .

  • Harris and von Sydow are great!

  • "u will name him bob"

    fav line in movie

  • Where you from?

    "Ohio"

LOL the devil is from Ohio funny line

This is a great film fuck the critics

  • where can I see the whole movie?

  • You can download it

  • Also, it is now available on Region 2 UK from HMV, although it is 4:3, there is a Region 2 version from Netherlands etc in widescreen.

  • I love this film. Misery is excellent etc but I have always really liked Needful Things. Needful Things and Misery are my two favourite film adaptions of King's books.

  • @sixshotmark You have read my mind. Leland from needful things and Annie Wilkes from misery FTW =D!

  • @SpottedHyenaStudios Kathy Bates is amazing as Annie Wilkes. You ever see the Family Guy episode with Stewie Wilkes LOL.

  • @sixshotmark *looks it up* I didn't know family guy made a parody of it =O

    Epicness!

  • @sixshotmark You read my mind. They're my two favourite novels in the first place, and the films are both creepy as shit, but good.

  • @jellybean454 I think in this case I actually prefer the films to the books. :D

  • Good GOD! I somebody pleeeeeeeaaaaaas put up the end sequence with Mr. Gaunt driving off and the credits rolling, I LOVE THAT MUSIC (though maybe not enough to sell my soul or integrity ;).

  • Ooo the actor that plays Alan is in Misery as the character Sheldon.

The books are awesome, good as Dean Koontz novels.

  • Incorrect. It's Ed Harris, who played General Starkey in "The Stand." James Caan played Paul Sheldon in "Misery."

  • Lol. Funny that...they look so much the same. My bad.

  • Kickass book. The actors somehow look weird, but then, thats what usually happens, if youve read the book first. But great job!

    THanks for uploading!

  • Yeah, movies always seem off if you've read the book first.

I think that the casting was mostly OK, though. Amanda Plummer was a good choice for Nettie, and Ed Harris was a good Alan.

  • I didnt have any problem with the cast. they changed around a lot of things, like the fox tail, the black guy who gets that car. Some very cool things.

I watched IT recently, loved the movie, but I have to read the book.

I wonder if there is some movie based on The Girl Who Loved Tom Gordon : P

    Or here there be tigers
