This bike is really, fast yes, but the most powerful Ducati ever made is the Desmosedici RR with 200 hp at the crank. But this bike may be faster around slower tracks because of a huge torque advantage.
The Aprillia RSV 4, BMW S1000rr, Bimoto DB7 and MV augusta 1078 312RR would all beat the ducati 1089r, hell maybe even that descmodici bike. more power, more torque, more top speed. It seems european brands are rising as the best bikes to have. although saying that, the japs will most probably copy the engines etc and sell their bikes cheaper (as they do) and will win the battle for japs vs euro bikes once again.
Hayabusas are slow at everything but a straight like drag race, and not much faster even at that. They're a cross between a sportbike and a sport tourer with a gigantic engine stuck in the extra allowed chassis length. Why the hell 13 year old kids are so obsessed with the hayabusa is a mystery. It seems like guys who cant ride full on superbikes because of a back condition but still like big power would be into hayabusas and zx14s, but for some reason every 13 year old on the internet is.

The allowed displacement is relative to the number of cylinders per the rules. Ducati was given 1000cc because they run two cylinder V-twins... all the other 750s are straight 4s and therefore a smaller allowed displacement per the rules.
