Actually, now that I'm thinking about Claire...why did Jacob select her to be on flight 815 and come to the island? The minute Kate takes her baby he crosses her off the list of candidates because she's a mother, but Claire was a mother from the get-go and therefore never an elidgable candidate...so why was she there? Claire always overreacts. She is horrible to Charlie one moment ("I don't want you around us", "Just leave us alone!") and then grabs his hand and kisses his cheek and leads him on. I think she loves him, but she isn't quite sure if that's what she feels or wants. She knows he's head over heels for her, but she doesn't want to commit and get her heart broken. It'd be so much easier if they just got together and quit arguing.

you have to remember that season 4 showed events during the span of around a week, probably less which is why we didnt see much claire sadness. after season 4 she became feral claire with the sickness, now she doesnt feel anything for charlie because of that
