  • Sounds like Billy Connolly

  • @bermudarailway sharp observation, well done son, ever thought about joining Scotland Yard lol, I will take this as a compliment if this is the best you can come up with tonight

    TTFN

  • How successful has this been and have you got any power out of it yet?

  • @bermudarailw ----

Boy you need to check out the up to date material see my other videos I also sell a book on the complete build on ebay type in

    wind turbine build plans

    and find me thewindmillman

this is a proper build manual of were I got to with this and have now mover on to water wheel 27/7 power generation I will be writing the full build book for this, this summer 2012 when I proof build another water wheel hydro power unit from my notes

    regards

    TWMM

  • @TheWindMillMan I didn't doubt the strength. I asked you what car is it from

  • @DanFrederiksen @DanFrederiksen

    sorry,

I can't tell you I got this from a pile of scrap 4 years ago and I cant remember even what scrapyard I got it from as I have been to a few over the past 40 years, as in i cant remember what car or yard

use anything and go for trial and error or there are a few books on ebay to reduce price to you and time wasted on a learning curve eg wind turbine build plans

    cheers TWMM

  • @TheWindMillMan ok, thanks.

  • is that a car wheel hub? it looks small. which car model?

  • The hub idea is great but how are you going to connect the alternator to it ?

  • @taur561 I have written 3 books on this type of mill and others and these build books show all sizes, materials and how to do's, with photografix and drawings on the full complete build, as trying to explain it all in txt here I would have no chance, check out ebay under wind turbine build plans and look for plans by, the wind mill man. @ under £5 you cant loose these booklets are showing you how to build a mill for £300 thats worth £9000 should you buy a shop built fancy thing so saves £'s

    TWMM

  • Sorry, I cannot understand what you are saying. Could you please include subtitles with you videos. Thanks

  • @sundogforlove sorry S, my english dialog is a bit thick dont think subtitles would help though would be hard to try and fit it all in

    cheers

    TWMM

  • may ALLAH bless you and bless ALMALHA

  • @historyandlogic cheers bud

  • @historyandlogic excuse you !!!!

  • @LUCKY4908 thank you for your highly educated though very long winded comments

    have a good day madam

    TWMM

  • IIIIII like it. Good and strong.

  • @N8Dogg1002 cheers I love the engineering satisfaction of the build, and the working end product and all with hand tools ,if I could bolt it all together I could build it without the welding so would then be power tool free also

    regards andy

  • I like your videos and think what you do is awesome, but I have no idea what you just said.

  • @derman077 just a running cometary of what you see, I mumble on a bit, and my thick accent adds to it, the camera is also out of sink ,video and sound, so it is a bit of a challenge to understand, Iam very sorry but you can only work with the tools you have, and mine are getting on a bit like myself.

    regards andy

  • @TheWindMillMan I could see what yoe were doing. I can't even think of what to say in my videos but try to make them self explanitory. Your thick accent adds well to your personality. Your back yard is amazing too. Thanks for making videos and teaching people.

  • @derman077

Hi T, This was the bin area in this video, anyway thanks, I think?

    Have a good day

    Andy

  • Are those hubs out of a car?

  • @UberWagen there are many hubs out there that can be used so home made or from a wheeled craft car, van, cart, motorbike and so on

    cheers

    andy

  • Like your vids good work keep it up .

  • @MrWindnut nay bother love your work to good to see a wire tidy and metered properly kit

    cheers for the coms

    andy

  • nice vid mate f**k them yank nob's

o yes one thing what's the best way to

do my Stator to get the best power from a PMA i am making?

cool work thank's for any help

  • @SuperAaron969 Sure A, but all the other parameters will need to be ironed out and there are quite a few before you can build a mill efficiently have a look at ebay under wind turbine build plans and look for thewindmillman booklets check out the content page and there are 6 stators for 12V system to suit blade size and torque

cheers and the booklet has all build data and every size to cut at

  • Andy, when I see the progress you've made and shared here over these couple of years, it very impressive! Keep up the good work and don't let the nay sayers get you down... Roy

  • @rlewis1946 nay bother R, and cheers for the kind words

    andy

  • @rlewis1946 One more thing, Andy; more think 118 thousand viewers have watched all or part of this video - and some like me, more than once - since it offers good, useful information. Yyou should be damn proud of what you have done. My Father always said to me, "... in life try to make a difference in someone else's life..." Andy that is what you are doing, with everyone of your videos.... Roy Lewis, Atlanta, Georgia USA

  • @rlewis1946 now thats a fine worded paragraph would all on the tube please read this - try to help another - good words Roy hope you are well and smiling today and tomorrow

    andy

  • That is English?

  • @mannhorn34 - top marks "that is the correct answer", though you dont need a ? after a comment, only after a question,.

Are you working on any RE projects that I may help you out with sir, form picking up a motor to building your own, and blades from 300mm diameter PVC blades 100w to 12FT 8" x 2" at 4 KW output

    regards Andy

    Have a good day.

  • What is that guy speaking? Gibberish?

  • @mannhorn34 I am afraid it does get a bit technical, sorry you cant keep up, it is quite informative, you must try harder, ( and loose the attitude yank).

I SPEAK ENGLISH SO YOU GUYS CAN LEARN FROM MY WORK, NOT TYPE SHIT LIKE THAT !!

  • Dear the wind mill man,

From which car do you get the wheel hub and the spindle?

    Thanks in advance

  • @crezyfrog2 it really is up to the individual on what he has to hand

and what you can work with tools wize

  • @TheWindMillMan yours turn very freely, the newone have to much resistance, it whould be very difficult for wind to turn the blade around. where (car) do you get yours from?

  • @crezyfrog2 the hub needs to be stripped and rebuilt using less grease and a thinner copper based grease to to reduce the start up resistance but with 2m up of blades on it it should run fine on smaller blades with less torque it may be better to go the rebuild route i always do the rebuild as i use old hubs for scraped cars so the grease is usually finished by then and so needs replaced anyway

    kind regards andy

  • is that a sierra rear hub carrier?

  • @brother776 any hub should be usable balls are better than roller bearings though

    andy

  • TheWindMillMan ive been looking at your video for quite somtime now, is it ok if i ask you for diagrams or plot for this project? hihi

  • @MadHatterTruth sorry haty i am selling a project from start to finish with all the info the builder needs to complete with no guessing of sizes or how to do anything the complete build you jerk i thing you signed ???? is this jerk a good thing in your world??? as it means an object to change direction quickly in my engineering terms

  • If your going to make vidios get a camera man that knows how to stand still. All your doing is makeing the person dizzy with moveing the camera at odd and fast movements.

  • @sidebarr7 i didnt make vid for the camera skills as i don't profess to have any i made it to educate and entertain those who are interested sorry you got dizzy with the moving

    cheers andy

  • @TheWindMillMan Yea I realize that now ,,sorry didnt mean no harm.

  • Hello windmill man i recon you have been making turbines for a while, have you tried many motors and do you feel casting them is worth the extra effort ? I like the way you make your stuff to last how do you manage to get your turbines up with all that steel?

  • machanical help from steel wire winches or a few friends on ropes and yes over engineered to hold up to mother nature and she can still damage them

    cheers andy

  • I use a common bicycle pedal hub. Works just as good.

  • I used a trek bottom bracket to to run a mill of 4 feet but this vid is for a bigger more robust mill that the blades power would crush light iron bike parts that the reason for the heavy iron

ping on a video of you mill sound like we 2 are on the same chain of thought

    regards andy
