My favorite Final Fantasy game of all time. Why? Because they brought back the basic elements of what is Final Fantasy. Each character has it's own race, placed in a medieval setting and the plot is just Fantasy at it's best and of course the soundtrack.

Cool. You usually see summons attack monsters, which isn't a great way to gauge the summoned beasts strength. Nice to see two eidolons fighting each other for once, even if it is only 1:10 long and rather one-sided. FFIX was a pretty good game,and like most other FF titles, not meant to be compared to its predecessors. It's like comparing the 'new' and 'old' Green Day - too different to make an accurate, non-trolling comparison.

Dragon Warrior is tons of fun, there's something special about camping at a town fighting monsters until you can afford the best equipment, then go to that other horribly dangerous town and notice that you are suddenly strong enough to own the enemies there, and so on; it's a great sense of growth.

It's also easy to finish in one day if you play efficiently.

Many people underrate FF IX, because it has a cute Design - the humans are animals too and have a SD-look. But it has a wonderful story & a fluid gameplay - there are not 1000 nerving Minigames like in FF X-2 & the summons look like epic creatures of the mythology & not so strange like in the new parts of FF (FFXII is cool, but I don`t like the Summons so much). FF IX is a traditionell good FF with the typical ingredients which a good Game needs. Sorry... my english is`nt so good.

Final Fantasy 9 was the Last good FF, not this new J-Pop Sci-Fi with a chocobo bull-**** they keep pumping out. This was the last FF that the original Creators all worked on together and it shows in the art the music and the story. I cant think of another FF where all the characters deal with so many dilemma's (except that frog bitch he/she was another useless Catsith character ;p)

This game was suppose to go back to the Fantasy roots of the series, and depart from the futuristic approach that 7 and 8 had.

Personally, I think FF9 is the best game. I can't wait until it it released on PSN... (c'mon Sony!)
