(this might sound cruel now, but were going to move them) mine are 3.5" now in a 30 gallon tank with a few other fish. BUT, we are going to move them when they grow hope my tiger oscar is as pretty as that one : )
hey no worries, you could also get away with a 4ft tank as long as your oscars are freidnly with eachother or paired off, but the bigger the better really (and itll save you from having to change the water too often)
one of them is my brothers (an albino oscar), so he'll be taking his when he gets his. and the other one is mine (tiger oscar) , so i'm sure he'll have his own tank =)
how big is your delhezi. ive got a endlicheri thats like 5 or 6 inches and i just bought 2 little pictus about the same size as yours maybe smaller. my oscars chased them around and the next morning my bichir had the pictus head in his mouth. later that day he caught and killed the other one.
i got all of them pretty young. i also have an ornate a little bit smaller than the endli and he didnt care about the pictus. i also have a rtc and a pretty big pacu in there and neither of them bothered the pictus. i could understand if the endlicheri was full grown but, he couldnt even fit the pictus in his mouth, he just killed it for fun i guess. i got 2 more pictus yesterday and im puttin em in a 10 gallon to try to beef em up alittle bit.
The Pictus cats are very sweet when they are small... and they dont grow very big (Ive had mine for nearly 2 years and they are about 12cm long)... when they small they all shoal together nicely , but when they get a bit bigger they tend to need a lot of space and constantly bully eachother (but they dont cause any real damage).
That Redtail is going to be a problem though soon... as they will try and swallow everything! ;)
yah i put the red tail in the pond when i put the pictus in but i was worried about him cus the water was kinda cold so i put him in the 55 but ive got a heater in there now so im bout to put him in the pond again. im bout to put a cave in the 55 so the smaller fish can get away. the only problem is the endli. the oscars cant catch the pictus.
if they have grown up together, they should be fine.... keep them well fed and the oscars will be sweet ;)
I have had a couple of oscars over the last 15 years and they are puppies... they can be aggro if misunderstood or kept in solitary for too long, but irf you grow them up from babies with other fish and treat them well they are very gentle
ya i feed em pretty good. all the fish in there r young except the goby and the green severum. the oscars chased them around some but never did actually snap at them when they had the chance so im not really worried about the oscars too much mainly just the endli. i dont know what his problem is.
Wierd man... well i guess they all different really... I had 3 oscars originaslly and one was just plain evil... bit my arowana in half and killed on of my CK knifefish aswell. Had to rehome him as he was way too aggro... the two I got now are peacefull ;)
Well the sand is washed and it kinda stays put... dosent make the water murky or anything.. I bought it from the fish shop... river sand... only thing to watch out for is that its very fine and can cause problems if sucked into filters ;)

im sure it will be... you should get a 5ft tank if possible as thats perfect for a pair of large oscars.
I have mine in one now, check out my latest videos on my youtube homepage... theyve grown up a lot!

that video was taken in december and the fish have all grown up a lot since then...none of them have eaten each other either thankfully!
Did you get your endli as a baby or did you buy it big already? as that could be why... i got mine tiny and it grew with the pims

i guess so. mine oscars are pretty sweet. they kinda pick on the aro and some of the other fish, but i havent had any major problems with them.
kx250f23 3 years ago
yur oscars dun pick on the little fish?
oooaznronnieooo 3 years ago
nope... still got them all together :)
Check it out on my profile page for my latest videos..
If you get them all young together and grow them up they fine. Keep oscars on their own till big and then add fish you got trouble
