There is absolutly no evidence that Gaddafi killed his own people. No: video evidene, photo evidence, creadible witness evidence.... nothing. We hear vague news reports instead.

so this man crazy enough to throw fire on people to live forever, as what we say in Arabic something like [his action of his name] it's just the translate I wish I did it clear

It's so nice to watch something light hearted now and then since I have been head buried with so much tragic events in Libya. Hahaha really like this BAAADDAFII - although I usually go with the spelling 'Gaddaffi' this is certainly more appropriate, although I'm sure there so many other names under the sun that people can think of to call this brute of a tyrant. Glad to stumble on your channel today :)
Here everybody always called it gheddafi. after the attack from the international press footage it looks like that the entire world call him caddafi. now you say this thing.... i' starting to be confused. I'll just call it baddafi, it fits well.
Hi Lori, I've been watching the show for years and finally I can be of some assistance. Upon checking Wikipedia, I saw that his name is written with the Arabic ق [btw, I study Arabic at Cambridge UK], which is most commonly transliterated as Q (the same Q we find in the 'proper' transliteration Qur'an). This sound is the 'choking' sound in Arabic, close to where we pronounce the K, but even further back in the throat. I'd suggest Westerners to just stick to K. =]
Reminds me of Kofi Annan. Used to be pronounced Kofi Anon (like you were saying the word "anonymous" but then the media randomly started pronouncing his name Anne-en.
Honey, you just described the liberal media--they do this kind of stuff everyday, have been for 40 years or more. They all used to take their cues from the early edition of NYT and that view would sweep the nation east to west, hour by hour. Thank heavens that is beginning to wane just a bit, but old habits are hard to break.
the only logical conclusion one can reach from this post is that the correct pronunication for the name of my main man the notorious G.H.D. is neither 'Kadhafi' nor 'Gadhafi', but in fact pronouncing it the way a sheep would pronounce it, which I can neither confirm or deny may or may not possibly perhaps sound maybe somewhat similiar to the following: 'Baaaaah raaaaam youu dhafi'.
Anyway my reason for bring this to your attention is that... wait... what was I just talkin' about?
The best way to learn to pronounce his name is to listen to his "people" say it. They seem to know their own language and would tend to be more accurate. By they way I just saw you on the RT channel doing your on the street interview on US intervention in Libya. Well done.
Here's a better question - when the US orders its own military to attack US citizens who will help us, who will opportunize/commodify the situation and who will lose? Sub question, what kind of pre-environment needs to be created in order for that situation to occur? I'll give you a hint, look at Libya/Egypt for your answers.
urm, i think, of all the things we could discuss about gaddafi and libya the pronounciation of his name is the least interesting/important. btw: here in germany his name has always been pronounced with a "g".
We do that with all common knowledge. Did you know, that there is simplistic energy technology that has been simply banned so that we can do all this crazy ass warring stuff. Just ask what went away, and what should be there, and what's it been replaced by. The steam engine was replaced by internal combustion. One can store energy in water and not mess up the water. Pneumatics is great for storing energy.. It must be bad because it is banned for common knowledge and use.
It has to do with regional dialects. In Libya and Egypt: "Q" is pronounced "G" sound in many words... but in other countries like Lebanon the 'Q' is ignored altogether. (or rather, a "glottle stop" in Phoenetics -- like some British that prounounce "bottle" as "bo**Le" or like the cartoon character Andy Capp, or like Pirates that say Cap'n instead of Captain).
I am an Arab, and I can imagine how hard it is to pronounce Arabic names for westerners, just use whatever you think is close to the original pronunciation.
Your smart talk is a turn off, but when u stoped for the last amount of seconds i got a boner! lmao JK but really i wont hit on you, you ake me feel stupid :(
I think it is, as usual, about showing off intelligence by demonstrating that someone else is saying something the wrong way. People love showing off more than anything else! And the easiest way to demonstrate superiority is by degrading someone else.
Hey,Shakespeare couldn't spell,he spelt his own name three different ways on the same document.I ain't no Shakespeare, but it makes me feel better about my own spelling
Well, it may have changed because they were in fact getting it wrong for years. It would not be the first time. Though I do agree that it's unlikely that they all realised this in the same week.
As to spellings, converting between writing systems can be done in multiple ways, there are for example 3 different reputable ways to render Japanese in English characters. The same is probably true of Arabic, so they're just plumping for different ones rather than getting it wrong.
Who cares how his name is pronounced. Another president started another war. What happened to change we can believe in. At least Bush had the decadence to lie to us before he raped us.
MSM is part of the full-on propaganda machine designed to advance the PTB's interests. The head of Libya is undoubtably a world-class a-hole and tyrant - as is the head of Yemen, Saudi Arabia, and countless other US allies.
Why the USA is going after Libya and not after the others? Follow the money...
I remember the news pronouncing it with a K too, but I don't care how the media currently pronounces it or how they used to pronounce it, how does Kadhafi pronounce it?
@TahraSonia He didn't ordered his troops to attack citizens, he ordered attack on armed forces that presented a treat to his government and country as well. If you knew anything about Libya you wouldn't speak like that. Western media presented him like a bloodthirsty animal that only wants the worst for his people. I know you probably live in some of those western countries but you could open your eyes a little bit and maybe you will see the real truth that lies behind...
...a few months ago he was a good partner to western countries and all of a sudden he's troops are being bombed by them. why now, why not 15 or 20 years ago?
@TahraSonia Hahaha @Duffy Duck, yep I heard it's duck hunting season it's just a matter of time until someone hits the right duck to get the job done! Thumbs up from me :)
Depends on if you are from the US or EU .. and as far as I know it's one and the same country.. although, if you follow a bit of the Libia state news broadcasting blablabla, you might be convinced that there is a Libia and Libya!
@dominice112 : indeed!. The official name can be constructed out of Arabic as Al-Yamāhīriyya al-'Arabiyya al-Lībiyya ash-Sha'biyya al-Ishtirākiyya al-'Uzmà - doesn't help much to dispel the naming conundrum ;-)
As there are so many different ways to pronounce any foreign leader's name, one can determine what news organization is favorited, by the pronunciation. @PatriotWatchUSA It's funny how your mind works. If a president you like starts a war, he's patriotic. If a president you don't like starts a war, it's treason.
you really think politicians run the show don't you.
@TheHigherVoltage Um what Patriotic War do I like? Well if the politicians arent running the show we need answers, NO? I hold the fckin progressive marxist responsible. PERIOD. You can blame it on the ghost if you want but he is in charge thats where the buck stops.
@PatriotWatchUSA of course you need answers...but you're sure as hell not going to get any from politician or their salespitch.
Nor are you going to find any in parroting the rhetoric of any one side against the others. They're all on the same side - their own. And none of em give a flying fuck about the country.
I think it's appropriate that his name causes as much confusion as our geopolitical approach to Libya. First Gadhafi was the bad guy, then the good guy, now he's the bad guy again... and I'm sure when the Libyans gain their democratic freedom and vote in a member of the Muslim Brotherhood we'll have conginitive dissonance and feelings of nostalga when Libya was stable under its dictator, Gadhafi... The more I learn, the less sense it makes.
I believe he changed it because he thinks he is Godhafi. Black looks good on you Lori. Heck you could wear a potato sack and make it look good. Great story.
@theresident I agree so dose Erica Simone except she wears nada... look it up" Nue York: Self Portraits of a Bare Urban Citizen by Erica Simone" she has a showing somewhere in NYC ...Heck, you may get to interview her she is cool like you...Just sayin:-)
@theresident Once you go black, you never go back. I'm just glad the weather is heating up. Your neckline seems to go up and down with the temperature.
@theresident I so agree to this! I have been doing a youtube channel here and although I just want to stick with black all the time (to show my respect to the Libyans that have lost their lives) I don't want people thinking that I don't change my clothes lol! Simon Cowell (from American Idol) also has the same fashion taste, black tshirt all throughout - can't go wrong with black.

Of course, the correct way to spell his name is القذافي.
Whenever you write any Arabic word in the Latin alphabet, you're always just making an approximate transliteration.
Hence, we also have "Koran" and "Qur'an", as well as "Al Qu'eda" being spelt all different ways too.
There's more than one possible way to transliterate these words and there's never really been a proper universally agreed upon standard for doing it.
Hence all the different ways of spelling his name.
