I worked for the Illinois Central back in the '50s, and saw the City of New Orleans many times. Except for the wording on the cowel, the mural is a reasonably accurate representation of the City. It was pulled by multiple EMD E-6 engines, with the same paint scheme as shown in the mural. The wording "Panama Limited" on the cowl of the engine in the mural is not really technically accurate; they used any 4000-series engines that happened to be available for that run. A fantastic train. Fast, too!

hmmmm, singing city of new orleans with a mural of the ic's panama limited ? the city of new orleans was a all coach passeneger train introduced in 1947, the panama limtied was an all pullman sleeping car train , the city of new orleans operated on a daytime schedule between chicago & new orleans, the panama lmtd introduced in 1942 ,it operated on a night time schedule & was one of the finest, most luxurious trains on the ic, until they added coaches to it in dec 1968, any way great song!

Thanks so much my friend. So times it takes time to figure things out. Always wanted that Strat sound sound once in a while but do not like Strats, I am a Tele Man. Now I have a 2 Teles one straight the other one Strait with an added Strat PU.

@bucknorrismusic I have a Strat and will probably buy a Tele next month. I have never really prefered one over the other. I just enjoy the unique sound and tone of each.

I play resting my palm on the bridge and that just doesn't work on a Strat. Either it changes with the pitch or the screws in the bridge tear up my palm.
