  • @nachereylremidee Thank you for your interesting question. Most Nigerians in Nigeria use peanut oil for frying plantain because it is easily and more widely available. Any vegetable oil will work well for frying plantain. Let your preference determine what oil you use. I hope you keep enjoying the recipes and more to come. Chi Chi

Who was at the door by the way?

Actually, my wife and I just bought some Plantain about half an hour ago, and neither of us had a clue what to do with them. We enjoyed your presentation. Alas, the Plantain we bought were unripe, so we will have to wait until later to make your Plantain Fritters.

    Kindest regards: Matthew

  • This is BOMB, Chi Chi!

  • whenever I am hungry , i turn to you.good job

  • i hav to ask.......when peeling, why do you keep referring to them as bananas?

  • Thank you for your valuable question. I do refer to plantain as banana because it is a type of banana. I will make it clearer next time to distinguish the difference between a cooking banana which is called a plantain and a standard normal banana which can be eaten raw.

  • just wonderful. My fellow igno sister ur cooking tips are amazing. this is similar to the bannanna fritter recipe i wanted to try tomorrow. it uses brown sugar, flour and over-riped bannanas. I will have to try this for christmas.

  • yum plaintain fritters have to try next time

  • kenw about the fried plantain but not the fritters it looks good actually :)
