This song is actually used in Animal Crossing: City Folk during the Thanksgiving festival (forgot what it's called lol!), just the tune, not the words =)
Frankie and Johnny was written for this movie speciffically for Elvis. as for the use of the B word I don't think that is appropriate lanuguage for this site!
Loved this song growing up.... I can still see a movie been made based on this song. Too bad the movie Elvis made was a critic dislike. I thought it was cute, myself.
geesh man tons of guys had a rendition of this song, while Johnny Cash had a GOOD version, I would never have the audacity to say his was better than Elvis' especially right here on the Youtube page! LOL

@catkeena Hi, this wasn't written for Elvis and the movie.
This American folk/blues song dates back to the late1800's, and possibly earlier.
There are recordings of it dating back to the 1920's, notably,
Frank Crumit's 1927 Victor recording.

WTF happened to the song, 'Long-Legged Woman With The Short Dress On"? Was it on the Original Soundtrack to this movie?
adamtzsch 2 years ago

Great job of cuttying. Great concept. Interesting use of "record" version instead of "movie" version.
I surmise Elvis didn't hate making this movie - as I recall, he suggested the storyline.
One of my favorite Elvis singles, actually got airplay in NYC (thanks Cousin Brucie)during that down period.
Saw the movie when it opened, above average for the time, very good songs, poorly mixed as usual.
