What is with people criticizing Mai's clothes and ninja outfit?
She is wearing traditional Kunoichi attire during her fighting scenes, it's meant to be light so she can move around, quit being a bunch of ignorant pervs.
No such thing as "traditional" kunoichi attire, just like there was no "traditional" ninja attire: the wearing black thing is mostly a cultural aspect from kabuki plays when all "ninja" characters wore black in it.
A kunoichi probably dressed like every other woman in Japan, or inconspicuously for their social position.
The most invisible kind of person is the one right in front of you you aren't paying attention to at all.

I agree on all points as far as her character is concerned. She doesn't show any of the obvious personality traits of a woman who like to "whore" herself out and the only man she's really aggressive with is Andy and in her mind they're already engaged. So her character is not a whore.

But they changed their minds and made her female in an attempt to counter Street Fighter's Chun Li. They intentionally made her into a sex symbol in order to attract more fans. So in that respect she is a whore because SNK is whoring her out to swell the ranks of their fan-base.
Okay, I realize that now we're just beating a dead horse. But what samtheweebo said is true. On her Wiki page it even gose as far to say that durring her disigne the CEOs told the artist to combine the ass from one popular idol of the time with the breats of another popular idol. They created her with the intintion of marketing her sex-apeal.

yes, I'm amazed at it too, I have to wonder how he managed to keep the quality so well. Doesn't look like the file size was all that big either because it loaded fast here.

Mai is probably the most unlucky female love interest ever.
She's not in Garou: Mark of the Wolves, the last entry in the Art of Fighting/Fatal Fury timeline, but Andy is, and he's STILL single.
So years later they're in their mid-to-late thirties and Mai has somehow still not convinced Andy to hitch up with her.
She can't even FIND him most of the time really.

yes, I'm amazed at it too, I have to wonder how he managed to keep the quality so well. Doesn't look like the file size was all that big either because it loaded fast here.
