We have heard that the new Joliet facility will NOT be called 'global' anything - and all bets seem to be that it will be named for the UP's CEO, just as the silly-named 'Global 3' in Rochelle is actually named after Ike Evans, a single-term CEO that didn't do much.

We shall see who is correct when the actual naming happens,

They're building a new intermodal yard, named "Global 4." They already have 3 others, "Global 1-3." The name generally means it's a major intermodal hub for the U.S.

I quess the Amtrak power department is feeling pretty good about their product these days sending the Eagle out of Dallas with just a single unit. I remember when they would run three each way to that one would be running at the end.
