@tjprodigy i would have only one question: i know Joe Lewis was trained a while by Bruce, but about Chuck Norris i miss something.As far i know, they meet in Nov. 1968 ( when Chuck won his World title).In the Bruce's notice (on the page) there is 19 January. Could you give me please a detail (if you know)?

From Yahoo answers: Bruce Lee did not "teach" Chuck Norris, they knew each other and did some sharing on the set, but it was not a Teacher/Student relationship. It was a relationship of equals sharing and collaborating for fight scenes

@argent2020 I'm sorry dude, but yahoo answers as about as credible as any comment that anyone posts here. I've had people quote yahoo answers before trying to tell me that Bruce was killed on the set of game of death with a bullet to the face..... and any true Bruce Lee fan/historian knows how wrong that is. But yes, it is very true Bruce and Chuck shared.

I'm interested in this "well documented" Chuck Norris vs Jet Li thing you mentioned. I've never heard about it once and want to know more.

they went from basically monasteries to monasteries & all, in fact, at one point it shows what women practice as a tradition. Now, from Japan to China. They talk about Wu Shu & showed old monasteries as well as Shaolin temple, etc. One of the old videos shows (in black & white) a young guy identified as Jet LI. The guy commenting said it out right: "Chuck Norris lost against him during a fight". Ok, so you may say: "If he did it, why not Bruce?", right?.

@argent2020 Hey, have anybody actually seen the whole movie way of the dragon?. All the versions I've seen in the US lacks the part when Bruce arrived in Italy & goes to a restaurant only to choose the wrong food. Minutes later you see a guy looking at a rest room from the bottom & after not seeing anyone he opens the door & Bruce Lee greets him with a big smile while taking a shit. I saw that part at a cinema in Argentina. That part was so funny!!.

@tjprodigy ,Chuck was Bruce's student,and Norris lost to another kungfu fighter,in the documentary called top fighter,they give the name of the kung fu expert,and it wasnt Jet Li,but another expert

@argent2020 Norris lost to Kung Fu star John Lui , not Jet Li, lee was a kid and never fought or even spar and uses doubles.

@argent2020 ,no it wasnt Jet Li,it was another kung fu expert,and Bruce did train Norris, it was a teacher and student relationship,it wasnt a relationship of equals,Bruce taught these men,they sought out Bruce,Bruce didnt go looking for them

On one point norris said, "Lee didnt really prove himself cause he never fought professionaly" On the other point he trained with (or trained under) Bruce as a world champion already.  Ditn't it prove something? I would not say bruce could have beaten chuck or not but norris's action (i.e. training with bruce) had already reflected the genuine status of bruce in norris's mind. BTW, he never said such thing when bruce was alive n i hate people talking shit on a dead who couldn't defend!

I cant believe Norris had the gaul to say something like that Bruce would not wanna fight him cause they wouldnt wanna "go there" what a load. There were very few people who could fight Bruce and give him problems, I think Hawkins Cheung was his sparring partner and also Gene Lebell was said to pick Bruce up and carry him around while Bruce told him to put him down

@Mider999 Well I think it is perfectly believable that Bruce Lee didn't want to fight his friends. Certainly they sparred quite often but in real fights people get hurt.

@Mider999 I didn't get that impression. In the video you are talking about he was asked if he could beat him and he said he didn't know and that they didn't want to go there. He did state that Bruce was good.

@MysticNinjaJay He also says in that video that he worked out with Lee he never said he worked UNDER Lee which he did. He says he beat Joe Lewis ok thats great but it was in a point match that is hardly a street fight you did bleed and get hurt but it was hardly no holds barred is it? He also said Lee didnt really prove himself cause he never fought professionaly in some article.

But just watching Bruce Lee in interviews it becomes obvious that the force of his personality was overwhelming. No wonder he was able to instruct people like that with ease.
