Sept 9th 2006 is when i got clean and i have 5 years clean thank god for the 12 steps and narcotics anonymous i have got my life back i am now a home owner and i got my drivers license back and own 2 vehicles. and i am holding down a job life is great today i am free from the grips of addictions but the disease is always there.so i keep going to meetings and i am of service and i have sponcees.
I got 16 years clean now...but like everyone else I had my 1st day...the day when I put it all down and got clean and started going to Narcotics Anonymous meetings. I wanted a few weeks to get my life sorted and then go back to 'social using'. So for ALL my Recovery Buddies out there....don't give up..NEVER give up on giving up. Love & Fellowship from Ireland

Only 2 days sober from Alcohol Dependancy in Hospital and im still in so much pain. The Librium is helping but i just keep going in and out of comsciousness. Getting linked up with a 6 week Rehab center that i turned down a few Months back. Gotta make it this time. This song really helps. Educate on the cure - Ibogaine needs to be brought back for research and testing of new treatments that can cure addictions in 1 treatment over 75% success rate and only have sickness for a matter hours, not weeks. It's ironic how songs like this work...When I first heard it, I didn't even smoke cigarettes...But the past 2 years or so have been a series of addiction, withdraw, then replacement...So far I've been five months clean from heroin, and about 3 months clean from pain killers...When I gave up meth it was because I had to, and for weeks, it seemed all my dreams were about that. I was skeptical to this at first until I realized I was taking an ignorant standpoint and sought to learn more about why it is considered to be a disease. I still hold those accountable who make the choices to continue down the same path however. Stating that is a disease does not forfeit accountability. We all pave our own way

I remember a few years ago when my friend first showed me this song and said it made her think about me. I don't listen to this kind of music day to day, but I felt the song. It's cool to look back and feel nothing relative to what I was going through then.

I was skeptical to this at first until I realized I was taking an ignorant standpoint and sought to learn more about why it is considered to be a disease. I still hold those accountable who make the choices to continue down the same path however. Stating that is a disease does not forfeit accountability. We all pave our own way

Any kind of addiction is hard to break and he's reaching out to people who have an addiction whether its coke, meth, heroin or alcohol he's reaching out to try and give others courage to get in control of their lives. A keeper for sure and great song for anyone who knows opiate struggle. I have been a user of opiates for 13 years so I certainly understand.
